My man literally carried me when fighting the final bosses
- Anonymous
This guy is like the nicest guy you'll ever meet. Homie will literally drop everything to come help you out, doesn't ask for anything in return and tanks bosses for you with a smile. A true bro, would def have a beer with him if he were real
- Anonymous
I guess he'd make a decent Ash to use in Colosseum, given how Spear & Shield Knights are goddamn pain in butt to fight in game.
- Anonymous
Have upgraded this guy to +10. He doesn’t do a lot of damage, but goodness isn’t he a TANK.

I noticed the flavor text here says "Godefroy the Grafted" and not Godrick, is that a typo from the item itself? Because if not, it shows that some of Godrick's attempts at grafting may have gotten him closer to the capital than we thought, but if it is and he was captured not once but TWICE since he grovelled to Melania for his life, it'd further reinforce how far down the chain he was that some random knight was able to best him and take him alive. Interesting lore implication.

Hmm... so his name is Kristoff... and you get him after beating a boss who is a lady with ice powers... coincidence?
...yes, possibly.

so many people in the comments talking about how good these ashes are against malenia. can't imagine using a summon against her, they just get in the way and let her heal
this man doesn't derserve legendary status, all he did was capture some random guy with a bunch of body parts

Is it me or do all +10 ledgendary ashes have way more defense or hp than I do?
- Anonymous
It should be noted in all areas of wiki that this ash is needed for platinum trophy. It should let players know on any item aquire, that its needed for trophy. What if a person sells it or what have you not knowing.
And yes all ledgendary ash hold there own, however mimic setup correctly is the top dog and really only ash needed.

Pretty much every wiki for each spirit ash apart from the wandering nobles and noble sorcerer have comments along the same general lines, a load of bollocks about how this or that spirit summons almost killed Malenia by itself. I got suckered by all that three times and I wasted grave glovewarts on two spirit summons that have been next to worthless every time I summoned them and ghost glovewarts on one elite summons that isn't aggressive and more likely to stand next to me doing f**k all than attack any enemies.
So any new players or anyone who hasn't got around to upgrading spirit ashes yet should learn from my mistake, don't upgrade ANY spirit ashes until you have tried them out a couple of times on enemies in the general area you found them to be sure you like what you see and think they will work well with your playstyle and build. Upgrading will give them more health or a higher attack rating maybe better at sucking up damage and the rats increase in numbers, but a summons that isn't aggressive and won't attack enemies unless you are up to your neck in sh*t without being upgraded will be exactly the same at +10.

Honestly he might be the best overall named Knight spirit ash, accounting for holding aggro, defense, range and survivability in one package. He can even keep enemies from swarming him with his edition of golden wrath.

He isn’t a damage dealer but he looks cool and I will use him.

Don't sleep on old Kristoff. He stuck with me all the way through Fortissax at just +6. Damage is pretty pitiful but the tankiness is superb

My man, helped my beat Malenia on str/fth build. Tanky, great at keeping aggro with his spells and staggers her too. Solid summon choice if you don't want to use Mimic or don't have enough FP for Tiche.
- Anonymous
Everyone is talking about how tanky he is, but every time I've summoned him, he does 63 damage with a thunderbolt then gets demolished in seconds because he refuses to block or attack.

This guy with +10 upgraded can survive Malenia first phase with 75%+ hp easily

The tank class of legendary summons. Not very fond of attacking, but he has insane amount of hp. I think +10 Kristoff has at least more than 10000 hp! His defense is pretty good as well, more tanky than my mimic tear.

The perfect tank, not oy does he has massive hp and defense, but he can also cast spells, and since bosses prioritize casters it makes him good for keeping aggro, don't know for meele builds but has a pure faith build this dude has save my ass in too many occasions.

godefroy the grafted. seems like a typo to me. in the game, not here.

i was quite excited from the other comments, but, all he does for me is edge walking towards the bosses/enemies that are wailing on me

This guy is an absolute Chad. Haven't had him die on me once yet.

This is the only summon i have at +10 and he is tanky and deals some good dmg. I use a katana/faith build so i use a blessings boon and golden vow before fights when i can, makes him super tanky.
He have 2 high stagger attacks, can imbue his spear with lightning and can shoot lightning at range too.
I am going to have to disagree with the folks saying he doesn’t hold aggro.
He’s constantly in bosses faces and for whatever reason isn’t very good a dodging which makes them delight in wailing on him. That means he doesn’t get to deal as much DPS as other summons. like everyone’s favorite headless lady knight for example, because he spends a big chuck of the fight sprawled on the floor but he’s tough as nails and can take the beating which is precisely what makes him such a great tank.
And let’s not forget diverting the boss’ attention from the player is precisely what Spirit Ashes were intended to do. They’re not meant to solo the boss while you AFK in the back (which is why they nerfed the Mimic).
Lastly, unlike virtually all of the other tank summons he is also a spell caster (calls down lighting bolts on the enemy and charges his own spear to deal bonus lightning damage). Those attacks deal decent damage and more importantly cause bosses to focus him as their AI prioritizes interrupting spell casting.
All in all he’s a solid A+ or even S tier.

he will not hold aggro. Still my favorite summon due to being an absolute tank, but bosses will be more drawn to you by far.

This guy doesn't get enough love, he's excellent!
He can tank the **** out of fights, he was a massive help during the twin crucible knights, fire giant and Moghwyn fight. The dude is HIGHLY recommended.

nice and beefy even at +5, tanked most of the loretta 2 fight without much issue.
- Anonymous
I upgraded this to +10 as my first legendary summon and honestly no regrets
Dude is tanky as hell and actually puts down an appreciable amount of damage
- Anonymous
How does he compare to Lhutel? I've been using her since I got the ash.
- Anonymous
Great all rounder. Tanky with a shield, has lightning magic attacks for some range and can imbue his own weapon with lightning to dish out decent damage.
At least an A tier summon

Kristoff is relatively tanky compared to other spirits due to it's heavy armour and great shield. He has a shockwave that knocks back enemies and ranged lightning attacks. I think there are options that deal more damage but this guy can soak up a lot.
All the named knight ashes like floh, lhutel, ogha and kristoff are gigachads. Even if kristoff does not great damage, he has a homing thunder attack that most bosses stand there for and imo he tanks better lhutel cos I think kristoff is more ranged and versatile
