Ash of War: Earthshaker is an Ash of War and Upgrade Material in Elden Ring. Ash of War: Earthshaker provides Heavy affinity and the Earthshaker Skill. Ashes of War can be equipped on Weapons and Shields to modify the Skill or an equipment, or to apply affinities that modify scaling values.
This Ash of War grants an armament the Heavy affinity and the following skill:
"Earthshaker: Thrust armament into the ground, then gather strength to unleash an earth-shaking shockwave. Follow up with a strong attack to swing the armament in a sweeping strike."
Usable on greataxes, warhammers, and colossal weapons.
Ash of War: Earthshaker Location in Elden Ring
Where to find Ash of War: Earthshaker:
- From the Altus Highway Junction Grace. Go due South until you can clearly see the road. As you face South, there should be a square pattern in the road. Ahead or to your left there will be a very small dust cloud in the road. This is the scarab. It does not make noise or leave glowing prints on the ground like others.
- Earthshaker can be obtained killing a stationary invisible scarab just South of Altus Highway Junction (found near a statue at the first intersection, you can hear it and see a little cloud of dust moving, note: not a scarab that leaves a light trail).
- The Scarab is present at any time, but easier to see at night. Using a skill/spell like Glintblade Phalanx may help, as it can target and kill the scarab automatically, if you get close enough.
- See it on the Elden Ring Map.
Ash of War: Earthshaker Elden Ring Guide
- Grants the skill Earthshaker.
- Can be used with any affinity Upgrade.
- Can be applied to the following weapon categories, so long as the weapon allows skill replacement: Colossal Swords, Great Hammers, Greataxes, Great Spears, Colossal Weapons

"Show me the earthshaker dude, cmon shake the earth, cmon i know you got that earthshaker weapon art, cmon two hand it show me that weapon art, yeah thats some earthshaker action right there"

would the follow up R2 count as a charge attack, and therefore get buffed by axe talisman?

Please update entry with this:
earthshaker does have a follow up heavy attack: a horizontal 180 degrees swing which knocks down human sized enemies

Mechanically comparable to Maliketh's Black Blade or Waves of Darkness but for a strength focused build - just put it on something long or really heavy. The (Guts) colossal Greatsword is my favorite, but it would be excellent on the Zweihander as well to give it a wide arc strong attack

Your best Anti Mob weapon for PVE. When you're surrounded by Rats, Dogs, Zombies. It's time for the Mass stun.

Ah yes, the unfortunate cross-fire casualty between me and the nightrider

Needs fixed. Doesn't appear just at night. Got it in early day just now

I totally found this by accident. I was attacking some soldiers in the area and then all of a sudden I get this drop. I originally thought it dropped from a solder I killed. I must have accidently hit the scarab while in battle lol.

I had absolutely zero idea this even existed until I saw a video with someone using it. I have 600 hours clocked as I type this. This masterpiece continues to baffle me
I managed to find it because it happened to be pushing the body of a soldier I had killed a second ago.

My favourite AoW in the game, bar none. Deals great damage, breaks the stance of almost anything in 1-3 uses, gives you incredible hyper armor, and is suprisingly fast and long-ranged. Just feels so damn good to use on my golem's halberd
I accidentally got this while farming the leyndell knights and was super confused.

For me, the scarab was stuck in one place a little way up the road (from the lift) passed the intersection. Just heard a skittering noise and saw some dust being kicked up.
Can a blood ,poison, or cold infusion affect the Shockwave?

It must be NIGHT for the scarab to be at the location. I went exactly where it was at late day, and I couldn't hear it but as soon as it was night I saw the dust cloud other comments were talking about. Only figured it out after seeing a clip of someone else getting it and thinking the time of day was the only thing we had different.

so I was testing out my faith spells near altus highway junction grace, did a few lightning aoe spells on those soldiers that patrol the road, and this popped on my screen im like wtf

It does make a bit of a noise actually, I was standing still in my menu and I heard a scraping noise coming towards me, that's how I found it

This AoW is a beast. I even run it with my Occult Great Stars. That followup R2 hits HARD.

It's decent, but it's decent largely because it's obscure. Once people figure out how to play around it (i.e. timing their dodge for the earthquake), it'll just be too slow. One tweak I'd recommend is to give it a slight, secondary shockwave right under the player after the earthquake for a very short stagger (like Storm Stomp but shorter) so you can't just be rolled into, and give you an opportunity to use the follow-up sweep to roll catch if they panic.

By the way, there is a slight dust cloud around the scarab.

Please change the description from near Grand Lift of Dectus to just South of Altus Highway Junction. Makes no sense to describe it as such.

Absurdly strong ash of war for a STR build. My go-to pve ash of war : The stagger damage is off the roof, you can send an opponent flying and charge a strong attack.

This is a poorly described. It may be a recent change, I'm not sure. The scarab is not actually stationary, it is scuttling around a square of pavement just before the intersection leading to the Altus Highway Junction site of grace. It doesn't make the noise that a usual scarab does; just a scuttling noise. You can see a dust cloud slowly moving around the square.

This thing is great, very similar in function to Golden Land, but a bit faster, with more area and without projectiles. Gives you a LOT of poise, everything combined this makes for a great antigank tool.

hey i just got this from killing a random soldier in a group just past the intersection. think they removed the scarab and changed the acquisition method

It's so slow moving that I questioned if I was at the wrong spot but it's really south of Altus Highway Junction grace on the road. It's just that you have to look for the ground effect it makes since it leaves no prints like the others.

This ash of war can be found near the forking just south of Altus Highway Junction.
Carefully walk along the road to find some wind spinning on the ground, and attack it to reveal an invisible scrab.

Invisible scarab next to altus highway junction. Look for it kicking up dirt in the road.

On the main road near Atlus Highway Junction, there's an invisible bettle. Hard to see because it does not leave footprints. This one gives normal version of Earthshaker
South of the altus highway junction grace on the big road that leads up to the leyndell stairs.
It can be found near the fork in the road just south/southwest of the grace.
It's an invisible slow moving scarab that throws up some dust and makes a fair bit of noise as it moves around. There are some soldiers and a cavalryman nearby that you might want to clear first.

its on the road between the dectus lift and the first junction, the scarab is invisible

Hope the location gets added soon, this is a very useful ash of war for strength builds from what I have seen.
This on the colossal Greatsword is just bananas.
