Ash of War: Eruption is an Ash of War and Upgrade Material in Elden Ring. Ash of War: Eruption provides Fire affinity and the Eruption Skill. Ashes of War can be equipped on Weapons and Shields to modify the Skill or an equipment, or to apply affinities that modify scaling values.
This Ash of War grants an armament the Fire affinity and the following skill:
"Eruption: Skill of the knights who serve at Volcano Manor. Slam armament into the ground, spawning roiling lava which spouts up upon release."
Usable on large and colossal swords, axes, and hammers.

Prior to the Shattering it is said Queen Marika was highly susceptible to this skill being performed on her.

I run a faith-strength build and i just used this on a flame-art beastman cleaver in order to deal with the rotten duelist in liturgical town. 50 faith 28 strength, fire scorpion charm, fire cracked tear, golden vow, fire give me strength. Well, the guy got stuck in the lava and died with a follow up R1 hit. Two shots all in all. I will test it more but it seems to be one of the deadliest AoW in the lands between.

This on a collosal weapon vs anything with even slight fire weakness... Damage and staggers all day . L2 L2 L2.. I haven't even bothered in PvP, looks underwhelming for that

works with blood flame for a delayed bloodlossbut sadly not with frozen armament it would have benn kinda OP to proc multiple frosbites with the lava/fire dispel effect

If used on a weapon with a buff, such as Black Flame Blade or Bloodflame Blade, it will take on the effects of that buff, both on direct hit and the lava pool.
This is really good on something like Great Stars and an Arcane/Strength build, as you can inflict Bloodflame on a target by either baiting them into the initial hit or the lingering lava.

It has really good hyper armor. If you wanna land it, try baiting an aggressive opponent into the second part of the move and profit

I’ve tried this AoW on a Golem’s Halberd for PvP before, and I had a blast. It’s slower than molasses but does a truckload of damage. Sometimes it seems like the first hit combos into the second one, but sometime people just roll out of it so idk. Very fun though.

If they do buff it, I would love to see either hyper armor on startup, faster attack animation, or greater explosion AoE on the second hit. Kinda been having a blast using this in PvP on the UGS. Since it's such a minor AoW, please tend to panic roll after they get hit by it which usually leads into a guaranteed crouch poke

The lava damage from this procs bleed from bloodflame blade. It's an excellent combo against large bosses that tend to stand in the lava.

I think they should buff the lava duration (too short!) and area of effect, poise, and enable players to cancel second hit by rolling out.

Does anyone know if hits from this proc innate bleed/poison/scarlet rot from weapons? Using it with Great Stars, and the heal procs on every hit from the lava, but I can’t tell if the bleed is.

This appears on it's own even if you killed Bernahl at the start of the game, I checked his shop at the Twins in the roundtable and it was there, not sure what triggers the appearance of the new ashes of war though.

The poise, damage, and stun on this thing are pretty insane. It can and will stun a man-sized boss on both the slam and the eruption, while poising through whatever they throw at you and dealing a couple thousand damage. Too slow and short range to expect to hit anyone with in PvP, but fast enough that you can use it reliably in PvE.
