Ash of War: Golden Land is an Ash of War and Upgrade Material in Elden Ring. Ash of War: Golden Land provides Sacred affinity and the Golden Land Skill. Ashes of War can be equipped on Weapons and Shields to modify the Skill or an equipment, or to apply affinities that modify scaling values.
This Ash of War grants an armament the Sacred affinity and the following skill:
"Golden Land: Thrust armament into the ground, then gather strength to unleash a blast of sacred energy that coalesces into golden darts. Follow up with a strong attack to swing the armament in a sweeping strike."
Usable on greataxes, warhammers, and colossal weapons.
Ash of War: Golden Land Location in Elden Ring
Where to find Ash of War: Golden Land:
- Can be found in Deeproot Depths, from the Great Waterfall Crest site of grace, head up a small incline to the South. The scarab is in front of two ants near some shrubbery. Fittingly, it is behind the Erdtree Avatar who drops the Staff of the Avatar. [Elden Ring Map here]

This + scholar's armament is the closest you can get to radagon's darts.
As of Patch 1.09, this ash of war no longer procs things like bloodflame blade, frostbite, or poison.

I can confirm that this doesn’t stack with Millicent prothesis. Shot at the baby dragons all day in caelid. I’ll go on a whim and assume it doesn’t work with the rotten wing sword insignia either.

Does this scale directly with a STR build? Or does it scale primarily with Faith?

Does this primarily scale with just FAI, or can it scale directly with STR too? I like to be a sophisticated Unga Bunga if you feel me.

With this you can easily shred Rune Bears and Deathbirds. Added on Great Stars will give you a good healing too.

It says the golden darts can proc the effects of bllodflame blade, frost and poison. I'd appreciate it if anyone who knows how that works for sure would reply to this and explain.
I see the DOT effect on an enemy when back-flame blade is cast on the weapon so the golden darts are taking on the characteristics of black-flame. But I've never seen the damage burst from bleed with bloodflame blade or the miasma around an enemy that has been successfully poisoned either with poison grease or poison armament.
Can anyone clarify exactly how this is supposed to work?

The explosion easily breaks the posture of bats and hawks, so if you don't have / wanna use Gravitas, this is a great alternative.

This ash of war is like the Big Brother of Elden Stars. Costs less FP, deals more damage, staggers enemies more easily.
I was trying to figure out how to get Elden Stars to work, and I'm just going to use this one instead.

I wish this was usable on greatswords because I got my sword to +18 only to realize I couldn’t use the ash

any recommendations for a weapon to use with this ash at 80 faith?

one of the best ashes. deals good damage and balance damage to many enemies and gives hyper armor

I find it kinda sad how any boss skill you get to use is ridiculously weak compared to the original, with only 6 darts here vs two dozens for Erdtree Avatars :(
I understand the game is supposed to stay hard, but still only ever getting discount scraps sucks.

Ok. So if you’re 30 str 50 fth, the darts alone can one shot players. They scale directly off fth and they do hardly any damage when I was 79 str but insane damage with 30/50 str/fth

Secret poise buff? I poised through a great hammer swing during the ash recently but a few months ago I couldn’t poise anything with it.

The thing you have to understand about this Ash of War, is that it kicks ass.
Cool detail I noticed, probably unintended but fitting the sacred nature of this ash: the small orbs attack the enemy you were locked on when casting the ash even after removing the lock; if you kill a skeleton with the initial slam, the orbs will proceed to shoot at the skeleton's remains before it can resurrect. Quite useful and cool.

This humiliates the death birds, I massacred the one in Consecrated Snowfield with it by pressing L2 5 times in a row

God, hitting every sequence of this ash of war can get up to 5k dmg from 1 use with the proper build, for only 21 fp. Combine this with butchering knife / great stars and every use heals u for like ~9% hp as well, really solid. With a healing weapon, the projectiles alone are worth the 16 FP for me lol.

strange I just killed the beetle for this and it showed that I got it, but it's no in my inventory anywhere, would it be somewhere beside with the other ash of war?
- Anonymous
It takes about 300 or so FP, but the energy darts alone can easily beat Malenia's first phase as long as you keep your distance.

This… is probably one of a very few ashes of war that are actually really good. Plus its not even exclusive to a certain weapon, which can’t be said for some other meta picks (probably a good thing, tbh). It even procs ‘on hit’ effects too, which can be great for weapons with healing effects or if you apply Bloodflame blade to your main weapon.

"But I'm not unga bunga! How can I run this versatile, powerful Ash on my build?"
Allow me to introduce you to the Butcher's Knife, 16 str 20 dex.

Great ash of war, high poise damage and think this will be fun with Elden Stars

This weapon art has four different attacks throughout its use: the thrust into the ground, the large holy explosion beneath your feet, the holy orbs that spawn above you, and one final hit when you retrieve your weapon from the ground. On a weapon with around 450 AR, I was hitting giants for about 2k damage when everything connected, which also completely broke their stance. The holy orbs alone were doing about 500-700 damage total, and had more overall range than my lightning bolt. I'm not too sure if faith is required, but just having a large amount of AR produced the highest results. Heck, even infusing weapons with magic (same AR) were producing similar numbers.
Also, it seems that the holy orbs won't actually target an enemy unless you're locked on. Though it seems you can lock on mid-attack if you forget, and they will respond to that.

as of 1.03 poise once the weapon is fully raised be fore the first slam then throughout. absurdly strong as of 1.03 especially against ganks

I put Royal Knight resolve on my off hand claw, and main hand duelist great axe with golden land.
The damage is unreal. The light balls that shoots afterward gets damage buffs even if you apply Royal Knight resolve after using golden land.
I had killed an invader with it after making him roll my claw attack then used Royal Knight resolve, and the light ball frame trapped him and each one did like near 300, 3 bolts hit him and it was a done deal.

Hyperarmor, massive poise damage + actual damage, and a ranged ability all in one button press? This weapon art basically soloed the game for me

Can anyone confirm if the Damage scales with Faith or Strength even on Standard Affinity? What about Holy Affinity?

It is a slow Art of War but as long as you get the initial slam into the ground before getting hit out of it the aoe blast around you still goes off as well as it spawning the bolts that shoot off at whatever you are targeted on. Does quite a bit of damage and stagger. Can even use it just for the ranged attack option the bolts give you, or setting up the bolts to hit an enemy as you are running in for a jump attack on them.
Personally used it on the Butchering Knife and all the bolts proc the little healing on hit that gives you which is a nice bonus. Worked for me all the way from Lyndell to everything after it.

Very nice Sacred art. The initial slam does damage at near-point-blank range, then the explosion inflicts AoE damage, and then the golden bolts add even more damage, and then you have the option of the heavy-sweep followup too. The bolts will target your current target at the moment of casting the art. If you had no target when you pressed L2, the bolts will fire randomly in all directions.
