AnonymousDoes the name Asimi perhaps come from the word “assimilate”? It would make sense as it takes on the form and understanding of the player character.
Shame this NPC was cut, it actually makes the mimic tear interesting

Should be a complete list of Cut Items, instead of there being random pages.

They wanted the player to feel alone in the final cut, but did so at the detriment of a good storytelling element; This should have never been cut.

This was supposed to be a questline rewarding you with the Mimic Tear ashes.
A talking Mimic, Asimi, starts living inside you. After a while, she takes your form and goes on her own adventures. Later on, she tries to kill you to take your place. Killing her would award the Mimic ashes.
Now, instead, the Mimic ashes is simply an item found in Nokron.
The quest was mostly complete and had recorded voice acting, and has been restored by modders. You can see the whole quest on YouTube.
