i do a lot of co-op and always keep this equipped for the inevitable pvp. its a wide area and hits multiple times so its really good as a wake up spell. like if your opponent gets knocked down/riposted, start casting while theyre getting up and they’ll try to run away and heal rather than attacking you out of it. most of the time they will get caught and stunned for the last bit of their hp

One of those things that gets an insane stack of passive buffs: Crucible Set + Roar Medallion + Godfrey Icon + Flock's Canvas + Fire Scorpion Charm + Flame Cracked Tear. Then Golden Vow and FGMS if you're feeling feisty.

I tried finding a use to this spell. In the end there are three things I know.

First of all you may only use it against enemies that can be staggered by it and crowds with the same condition. You need to time it well when it comes to knights and when you do oh boy. If you have the crucible set, roar medallion and fire damage boost you’ll wreck them.

Second thing is that you need to set your character around the spell so you’ll be pretty limited in variety besides the usage of aspects of the crucible.

But the third thing comes as its main disadvantage: it has a limit. If you were able to cast it repeatedly until you drained your fp or stamina the incant could’ve been a great option to clear crowds. But the odd range and short duration doesn’t allow you to make good use of it without the risk of not dealing the damage you need.

Of course there are better options like dragon communion spells but nothing’s better than pretending to be a frog.

Does anyone else ever get worried that they have dementia and are just responding to themselves over and over again?

Call me weak or whatever, but I really dislike having to kill Tanith for this. Just feels unnecessarily ****ish. Why can't it drop from one of the 10 other Crucible Knights ? Why not from the 2 in Farum Azula, you know, the place LITTERED WITH DRAGONS ?

              • Anonymous

47 faith, no crucible stuff on, actually does decent dmg in pvp. Just situational. Use in caves or in hallways.

This was the only incant I could find for my Omenkiller cosplay build that's reminiscent of the backstep fire breath attack they do and I was pleasantly surprised at its performance as a crowd control tool even with low faith. Does bad damage without the Crucible Knight set but does enough to handle huge groups of smaller enemies that can be stunlocked and staggered to death. Dragonfire/Agheel's Flame is better if you want raw burst damage.

Do you hate lame ass rapier/quickstep spammers?
Then slap on this spell, roar medallion and some crucible armor for maximum salt from metaslaves.

                    • Anonymous

How my int/fth split build handles ganks in caves/corridors. Not much damage but it gets them off of me, is cheap, and can finish off the spam caster in the back of the gank who forgot to heal. It’s can be easily poised by heavy armor so don’t commit. I personally use prayerful strike to counter this spell and others like it in duels.

Decent Spell , but not as crazy in terms of damage.... Regardless it is very good for Melee builds mostly. ( The increased charged duration can deliver more damage when hitting Large Bosses who dont flinch much ). While i know Communion Dragon Breaths are better , this however is pretty good if you wear atleast 2 or 3 Crucible Set pieces while having FGmS and Golden Vow.... And even regardless of the Crucible set , this is Handy in sticky and closed cave situations for how Mobile you are when casting it instead of Dragon Head Breaths.... For me its a decent 7/10 Spell both in terms of Fire Damage and Utility and Defense specialy in PvP encounters. ( Will appreciate this more if you run PvP mostly ).

You can rotate decently fast and cast fire everywhere around you like an aoe. I don’t think the poise damage is very good so it’s not an anti-gank tool (plus it can be jumped over) but it’s probably good for pve.

Let the DLC bring "Aspects of the Divine Crucible"... i want my wings... more holy damage and another awesome looking armor set! Wouldnt mind a better shield or some kind of crucible specific buff either!

                            • Anonymous

They should add an Aspects of the Crucible: Wings. Not as traversal, but would still be a cool incantation.

Might be a bug but the first time playing the game I didn't know Tanith appears at Rykard's arena after you kill him so I went about the game and this incantation dropped from the first Crucible Knight you run into in Farum Azula. Might be the same thing as Nightrider glaive dropping from a troll for some reason in an early version of the game but it's still worth noting.

Who put down the "does very little damage"? It's dealing around 600 uncharged and 1500 charged to banished Knights in Farum Azula which is comparable to Flame fall upon them. Besides, this incantation does immense poise damage and can stunlock even bigger enemies into the entire cast.

                                  • If you do have poise you can walk/jump into it and trade easily outdamaging but you'll need enough poise to tank through 2 procs unless well timed. It's a fun spell for casual pvp and at 80 faith it does do good damage 250+ per tick but the hits come fairly rapidly so it adds up fast. Once enemy poise is broken they have to get out of the flame or they get hit after every roll unless they timed it very well or... bloodhound step.

It's good if you use full crucible armor. Very good finisher in small places because you cannot really escape it if you were knocked down.

                                      • Anonymous

Doesn't do much damage, but it's a great finisher in duel when your opponent is very low and just rolls everything.

                                        • Anonymous

Found out despite not being completely able to be chain casted with Catch Flame or Bestial Sling, the damage that comes from the move still comes out when rolling->catch flame->dragonclaw, or double catch flame/bestial sling-> dragonclaw. The animation that comes out doesn’t do the move at all, yet if ur close enough to the enemy it will still hit them if ur arm touches them when swinging. May not be that at all practical but just a fun fact

                                          • Anonymous

Here the thing, now Tanith seems to have an unfinished quest because Patches gives you the " dancer's castanet " yet you need to give this item to Tanith.... and that's it. It's doing nothing at the moment (patch 1.04) maybe there will be some action with it in the future but .... It's very annoying though that you have to kill her for this spell...

                                            • I wish it had more damage, but I say it does it's job pretty well in pvp/pve. It's a wide-coned flamethrower with decent range that can stunlock enemies aswell as players that dont roll correctly. It's really nice for free aiming, especially when dealing with players that like to roll around you. Highly suggested for use against Malenia as it stunlocks her for every breath tic. The incantation doesnt suck, it just requires a bit of thinking to use correctly.

Sucks that you got to kill a potentially important npc for a future questline just to get this guy to spawn.

                                                  • Anonymous

Considered both a "Breath" attack and a "Crucible Incantation", meaning it is buffed by the following:
Any piece of armor from the Crucible set pieces. Roar/Breath talisman. Highlander Axe, stacks with two equipped. Fire damage enhancing effects, such as an enemy being doused in oil or "Fire Grant Me Strength" Incantation. Underwhelming attack, and honestly I understand why even the Crucible Knights themselves rarely use it.

                                                    • Anonymous

Like the other Crucible Knight incants, it's a lot better charged. Still wouldn't use it against anything besides mob enemies or particularly dumb NPC invaders, but it does a ton of poise damage and you can walk around and pivot while using it so there are some use cases.

                                                      • Anonymous

with a +8 erdtree incationthing and 40fth this does 330dmg to a stone imp.
an r1 with a +8 crucial knight spear does 290...
When you think about how long this spell takes... its horrible for pve, but a musthave for fashion souls or cosplay.

but it sucks.. in pve, dont know about pvp.

I'm holding out that in a future update that we can get the other two missing crucible aspects (claw and wings). Feels weird/ incomplete that we can get 3 outta the observable 5 aspects we see the knights use.

Or maybe it's locked behind an incredibly hidden area of quest. Either way, fingers crossed and hoping.

Can be found after killing Rykard, if you talk to the lady and exhaust all her options and then teleport back to the boss area she’ll be there consuming his corpse, if you hit her she’ll die and her knight will spawn, he drops it when killed

                                                                  • Anonymous

                                                                    • Anonymous

After you kill Rykard, Lord of Blasphmeny, you travel go to Volcano Manor, you speak to Tanith complete her dialogue, Once you complete her dialogue go back to where you killed Rykard, you will see her there talk to her again and complete her dialogue, and then you kill her. After you kill her, a crucible knight will invade you, kill him and you get aspect of the crucible breath.

                                                                      • Anonymous

So: Follow the Volcanic Manor quest line, kill Demi-God Rykard (the Blasphemous) then speak to Lady Tanith. Go back to the Bos arena, she will be devouering the corpse. Speak to her, slay her. You ghet invaded by her personal guard, the Tanith Knight. If you slay it, tada, you earned this spell (along a lot of other things along the way). Info taken from a youtube video.
