Elden Ring Assassin's Crimson Dagger Notes & Tips
- Sell Value:
1500
- Heal Example: Triggering with 1900 max HP would heal 275 (190 + 85)
- Small weapons like daggers that normally perform a single stab, switch to a double hit animation on large enemies. This will activate the effect of the talisman twice.
- Weapons that trigger this and similar talismans more than once:
- All Colossal Weapons and all Daggers
- Colossals trigger on all backstabs and small enemy front stabs
- including large enemy backs, with a lot of them only backstab-able while in the riposte state.
- Daggers only work on large enemy/boss ripostes (front stabs) or special criticals.
- Colossals trigger on all backstabs and small enemy front stabs
- All Colossal Weapons and all Daggers
- Weapons that trigger this and similar talismans more than once:
- Heal is unaffected by Critical Damage bonuses

With the colossal great club and the colossal troll's hammer not the colossal greatsword, that's with a parry/riposte or crit on a giant (Trolls, etc.), Unga Bunga!

Equipping the Assassin's Crimson Dagger gives two heals with the colossal great club and the colossal troll's hammer on a parry/riposte, not with the Colossal Greatsword. With other weapons i.e. axe, halberd, sword, dagger, etc. no luck with the double heal, hope this helps. Praise the Unga Bunga.

So this doesn't proc twice any more with colossal weapons on bosse and large enemies but daggers still proc it twice on bosses/large enemies

I figured clawed weapons proc the effect twice on vulgar militiamen. Didn't see anything about it on the wiki so I figured I'd share.

I was doing a colossal weapon double proc build at one point, but stopped because it was inconsistent. But now I've realized that in all the cases where it doesn't work (so far that I've tested), daggers will double proc.
I've found that doing criticals with daggers on stance broken Omens from the from the front result's in two procs. I need to do more testing.

Every Critical hit builds best friend. Paired with Blue Dagger Talisman and other health regen gear one’s battlefield Longevity will be much higher.

This talisman will make you hate other players in cooperative. Other than that, it's pretty good.

This item will make you hate other players in cooperative...

Good talisman or not, you have no idea the dissapointment I felt when I realized this wasn't a weapon.
- Anonymous
fun thing about this item is that you can backstab your coinvaders with a fist and if they get the hint you can heal each other if you are both low on flasks

Somebody at FS looked at Aldrich's Ruby and decided to make it WAY better than it was. This thing doesn't leave my talisman slot for a good portion of the game. It's still great even late game where it's effect is diminished.

Bless the man/woman in fromsoft who put this in an early game area.

One of the absolutely best Talismans. It synergize also extremely well with Poise Break Weapons like the Large Club.

Actually I was half right. The Stone Club procs twice on certain enemies. On others the first hit just doesn't proc...

Colossal weapons often use 2 hit animations on small enemies, which will also double-proc.

Excellent talisman early game when parrying enemies or bosses such as the Crucible Knight.

All Colossal Weapons (NOT Colossal Swords, specifically the separate Colossal Weapon class) will get double benefit from this talisman. It doesn't appear to be tied to animation as both the Colossal Swords and the Colossal Weapons share the same critical animations. This also appears to be unique to just the Colossal Weapons as I tested it at Agheel Lake North for easy backstabs and parries for every weapon class and the only ones that doubled up the effect were the Colossal Weapons.
Additionally, some enemies change the crit animation and will allow any weapon to double up on the heal but this isn't terribly common.

With a greatshield and some well timed guard breaks, this talisman is fantastic!

Early game (pre godfrey and no caelid) if your even quality or strength I'd say this is THE best talisman. Pop this and even wooden greatshield and your guard counters will break stance and that crit will heal likely beyond the damage you took. Basically, this plus starter greatshield equals 100% damage reduction greatshield

i killed the boss and still didn't get the weapon :/ glitch?

The heal amount is 10% + 85. If you are only looking at %, at different HP values that number will change, but the formula is both % and flat amount.
For the record, my dagger does double heals _only_ on "fat" enemies (like the big large guys next to underground roadside site). And _only_ daggers.

I did some testing. It is based on a % of your max HP, but that % diminishes the more HP you have.
With 833 health, it healed 168 HP, which is a bit more than 20%
With 1805 health, it healed 265 HP, which is roughly 15%
With 2256 health, it healed 310 HP, which is 13.7%
Still a really good talisman. Very good when you're exploring or going through a dungeon and finding a good method of getting criticals on enemies, and still gives you a survivability boost against bosses if you go for stance breaks. I think for bosses the FP version is more valuable, especially if you're melee and use cheaper ashes of war and you don't have much max FP

this and the fp version can activate twice with backstab animations that hit twice

How come this never works for me, I've hit countless and countless of enemies while wearing this talisman and my HP doesn't ever go up I'm sure I must've crit them once of the I dunno 500 fights I've had with enemies. My HP never ever never ever never ever goes up, backstab, while low on health and what soever, how do I get ti to proc.

For those bow enthusiasts interested, this does not affect bow headshots sadly

If you have the whip equiped this charm will have no effect, since the whip is incapable of crit.

This thing low-key turns you into Doom Slayer, you're invincible during the critical hit animation and it gives a hefty heal. There is also a blue version of this talisman that restores 15 FP on a crit located in the Blackknife Catacombs in northeast Liurnia.
Now to find the Dagger Talisman that increases crit damage...

Essential talisman for helping me solo the triple putrid crystalian fight.

You can get this early and its effect is great, will greatly reduce your flask use and also benefit going for backstabs, parries, guard counters... I'd say it's a must have especially early on
Very useful Talisman in PvE for a melee build. For me, it is a must-have.
- Anonymous
Insanely useful PvE. Saves a lot of flask uses. You can heal up just for doing easy backstabs from roaming hollows

This thing is so op. I got it early somehow, I don't even remember fighting the black knife assassin. And it's never come off, saved me so many times.

To get this relic... consider using that same Uchigatana you probably found on the same catacomb, wield it in two-hand (if no shield without skill) it and use the special fast or heavy move to easily catch the assassin off guard. Parrying this rogue might be a bit hard, but doable.

This heals for about 20% max hp, great if you can land consistent critical hits, ie: backstabs or visceral attacks. With all the different ways to stagger in this game, this is a good item for pve.
Actually did a quick test and it seems to heal about 17% with a few errors. Tried healing with a backstab one handed on a skeleton and I went from 589 to 753 (204 health gained which is roughly 17.5111% heal) then did another without my HP talisman and I went from 697 to 894 (197 increase being 17.1141% Heal).
Seems like a fairly good talisman if you don't know what else to run, which could be the case considering how early you can get it.
I'd say that this is a must-run for melee with the talismans I've seen so far

For anyone wondering why it’s not appearing in your inventory, I made the same mistake, this item is a talisman, not a weapon

I killed this boss today and it didn't give the weapon has anyone else had this issue and is there a way to fix it? It gave me the prompt as if i had gotten it but the dagger wasn't in my inventory
- Anonymous
PLEASE ADD TO WIKI - if you kill the black knife assassin early in his secret area you will not be able to get this drop - you will get the cerulean dagger instead. Dont make same mistake i made
