Banished Knight Armor (Altered) is a Chest Armor in Elden Ring. Banished Knight Armor (Altered) is part of the Banished Knight Armor Set, and is an earlier, more accessible version of the Banished Knight Armor, but it lacks the unaltered version's cape. It can be obtained pretty easily in Limgrave or Caelid whereas the unaltered version only drops in Castle Sol, in the Mountaintops of the Giants. As a part of the Banished Knight Armor Set, it has high poise, defenses and weight.
Thick, full set of armor covering the entire body.
This armor was worn by knights who, whether by misfortune or misdeed, were forced to abandon their homes.
These fierce warriors were each and all accomplished. Perhaps that is why, despite their territorial losses, they were still named knights.
Where to find Banished Knight Armor (Altered) in Elden Ring
The Banished Knight Armor (Altered) Chest Armor can be found at:
- Stormveil Castle. Dropped by the Banished Knight in the room with the human limbs hanging from the roof. See it on the Elden Ring Map here.
- Cathedral of Dragon Communion. Dropped by the Banished Knight patrolling the perimeter of the Cathedral.
- Boc the Seamster can't alter the original Banished Knight Armor.

Drop rate remains subpar. Farmed for 2h with 195 discovery.
3 Shields.
2 Swords.
8 helmets.
6 Gauntlets.
4 Halberds.
4 Greaves.
ONE Altered chest piece on the last run. The drop rate for the non-altered is tiny.

After farming for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, with discovery 116, I got the following items from the banished knight nearby the rampart sight of grace;
6 Banished Knight Halberds
2 Banished Knight Helms
3 Banished Knight Gauntlets
4 Banished Knight Greaves
and ZERO Banished Knight Armor
The wiki is lying; this thing has a 0.1% droprate

Shame neither this nor the non altered version actually looks exactly like the banished knights do with the smaller white cloak similar to veteran's armor set

The horn on the shoulder pairs well with Bull-Goat Gauntlet and Greaves.
I wear a Commoner's Headband (Altered) for the fashion!

I got all of the pieces on my first playthrough from all the knights and thought it was a guaranteed drop. Oh boy was I wrong, luck took pity on me I guess

anybody know why there's a random horn on one shoulder? wish i could alter this to take it off since you can't alter it into the caped version anyway

The banished knight armor has to be one of my favorite sets in the game for the sole reason that the normal and altered variants are actually significantly different from each other instead of the altered version just being the cape-less version of the normal one which actually gives you a reason to use the altered armor

Just got this after 3 frickin hours, drop rates gotta be around 1-2%. got it at the cathedral after respecing to a full arcane/magic build with 300 discovery.
I hate everything.

Farmed this from a knight at cathedral of dragon communion in caelid, one spawns right near the site of grace giving a quick run to and from took about 1/2 hours to get full set plus weapon and sheild

Usually don’t comment but i had huge trouble trying to grind this out at stormveil. turns out i don’t think it drops there at all to my experience, go to castle sol.
there’s a knight on the platform with two wolves by going out castle sol rooftop grace and jumping down (or climbing up to the left before entering eclipse church). this knight wears the unaltered armor and WILL drop it. good luck fellow tarnished.
