My favorite combo with this is the banished knight armor, veterans legs and veteran hands to go with it, the red wrapping on the veteran legs match the helmet and make it seem like youre a banished general I love it

This helm is the peak of DRIP. I love it. perfectly fit for a non chest piece set. Just to say,the scarf cover the helm and part of your shoulder,falling on the back and in front of the chest,leaving a great part of your muscles (chest,abdominal and arms)uncovered. Just mix it up with zamor bracelets and whatever leg armor you want. Sure,you will take a little bit more damage without chest piece,BUT EHY, you have created an anime style tarnished!

There’s a ledge you can stand on at the Cathedral of Dragon communion in Caelid by climbing up the dragon (ledge is right next to it’s head). You can shoot at the knight there and he won’t be able to reach you. Got it from him after a few tries and a few runs to get arrows, even at a lower level

For the life of me this is the least consistent headpiece, with it's shoulder scarf visual gimmick, chest pieces like malenia's with OBVIOUS room for the scarf, won't trigger it. and on a muct more dissapointing exception, the zamor chest armor has a single pauldron and a free shoulder which would fit perfectly with this, but these MoFOS made the scarf cover the FAKIN PAULDRON instead of the FREE SHOULDER. SIGH!
Anyways I wear it with scaled chest, vagabond or bloody wolf gauntlets and blaidd's greaves. looks dope! (Bloody wolf chest also looks quite good with it, though I'd prefer diallos mask with that armor)

This, Blaidd's armor with the cloak taken off, the fire prelate gauntlets, and Blaidd's leggings are peak elden bling and give you >51 poise. The whole scarf goes over the armor and matches the tunic under the armor.

People complaining you can see your eyes through the helmet, meanwhile I wish we could have just the hood without the helm so I can see my characters face, I know there's Crimson Hood but I'd prefer the darker color of this one

For those of you annoyed at being able to see your tarnished eyes through the helm, choose eyepatch number 4 under cosmetics in the mirror in Fias room. Make it the darkest shade of black. Now your eyes are hidden.

Goes surprisingly well with the Cleanrot armor even with a different color of metal, and the cape will drape over the shoulder altered or unaltered

There aren't a lot of chestpieces that let you drape the scarf over your shoulder while also still looking nice, the Mausoleum Soldier Surcoat probably looks the best in that regard. Of course, you could pair it with the Exile chestpiece so the red blends in anyway.

wore this with altered blaidd's set it just fit perfectly with the red cloth sticking out of the armor, one complain is gap on the helmet is too wide i can see my creepy tarnished eyes from certain angle

Love that vagabond knight look. Just regal enough to not look like you fished it out of a dumpster and just rugged enough to not look like it's never seen a sword in its life. Like the Fallen Knight helmet from Dark Souls 3 but less edgy.

Using capeless armors makes the scarf spread out more along your shoulders. Altering caped armors like the standard gelmir, redmane or godrick knight chestplates to remove the cape allows the effect as well.

Has anyone else had a problem with this helmet ,where the hood clips into the face whenever you move? It totally ruins the helmet for me. I play on ps4, and have not heard anyone else complain about this. Any input would be appreciated.

It took me about 25 minutes of farming the two knights at Dragon Cathedral in Caelid to get this at 240 item discovery. You can kill about 6-8 Banished Knights per silver-pickled fowl foot (1-shot them with a spell, or backstab, or riposte).

Helmet looks great. This helmet is PEAK Dark Souls Hobo Knight fashion, I'm tellin you.

Despite the Banished Knights wearing the helmet still having that ugly white plume in the back, when YOU wear this helmet, it does not have that ugly hair plume thing.

Been trying to get the Red (Original) Helm for days. Hours of defeating the knights both in the Castle and Communion. Nothing. No luck. Like a slap in the face lol. I've gotten everything else Banished Knight wise... multiple times. Altered Helmet? Got like 10 of those. But for whatever reason, I have 0 luck for the one I want. Talk about annoying.

I'm like 99% sure they buffed the red hooded unaltered variant post release. I originally got mine from Dragon Communion because I thought it looked better but was disappointed when the Damage Negations were lower and the Resistances were higher. Now it seems it's overall just better in trade off for .4 weight. I got a second drop from Crumbling Azula but it has identical stats to the first one so it has nothing to do with the so called 3rd variation, however that could be why people are mentioning such a thing.

The wording here seems to be off, it says there are two “other” variants, but I believe it should say two variants total, so unless someone has three different versions, I think the wiki is wrong

Got the red hooded variant and it beats out any other helmet I've found so far in every single stat (except weight). Might have to eventually farm the entire set because it seems really good.

Plus, if you wear it with a long bear, the hood makes you look like a baby Gael
