|
Banished Knight Oleg is a Spirit and Summon in Elden Ring. Banished Knight Oleg summons the spirit of Oleg, the Banished Knight.
Ashen remains in which spirits yet dwell.
Use to summon the spirit of Oleg, the Banished Knight.
One of the two knights known as the Wings of the Storm. After his banishment, he attracted the notice of the Grace-Given Lord
and later, having slain a hundred traitors as the Lord's hand, Oleg earned the hero's honor of Erdtree Burial.
Where to find Banished Knight Oleg
- In Fringefolk Hero's Grave: To get there, use 2 Stonesword Keys on the double Imp Keystone next to the Stranded Graveyard Site of Grace. This will lead to a mini dungeon with traps. You will need to avoid a crusher by walking into side alcoves as you descend. There will also be ghost swordsmen and archers. Map Link
- At the end of this, you will fight an Ulcerated Tree Spirit boss. The boss will drop this spirit summon and a Golden Seed.

For how early in the game you can find him, he's an insanely powerful summon who can literally solo a lot of bosses throughout early to mid game.

Oleg is basically a melee gatling. He goes head first into any boss and starts his neverending bs combos that we all hate so much.
Great spirit for magic users because he holds aggro like nothing else and he is also very tanky once he is upgraded.

Seeing Oleg charge at enemies: "Haha, yes" Seeing Oleg charge at me in Castle Sol: "Oh crap I'm gonna die"

i can only describe this summon with this. and he has no rules, no boundaries, he doesn't flinch at torture, human trafficking, or genocide. He's not loyal to a flag or a country or any set of ideals. He trades blood for money. He's your

I wanted this guy because I gave up trying to kill him at castle sol

brother, husband, Daddy, Oleg can be whatever you need him to be.

Why can’t we see the actual stats of them? Like how much defense does this ash have? How much attack? What’s their health like? Lol there’s no numbers to speak of…it’s all a guessing game to tell which ones are strongest…
- Anonymous
My real name is Oleg, lol. When I saw the name of that spirit first time I thought it’s some kind of joke:)
- Anonymous
Absolute life saver against Malenia, his damage and survivability are far from the best but I believe this is quite literally the best summon in the game in two categories. Aggression and the frequency at which he just staggers enemies into oblivion. Get him up to +10 and don't let anything get too many hits on him and you have a fairly tanky, decently damaging, and aggressive stagger monster

Basically Oleg when he see an enemy he need to slay:
*unsheathe swords*
"Privet, tovarisch. Wanna talk about terrorism?" XD

Literally my favorite summon, no competition. I don’t care if he’s not as good as others late game, he’s still at the very least A+ tier and I adore him.

See, If u rly like Oleg. Have some cursed blood pot on you. Throw them at a target you want to have completely annihilated. Watch Oleg go super saiyajin. =)
If you build yourself in honor of Oleg to summon a minic tear "version" of Oleg the mimic will apply the pot itself and it has infinite charges. A beautiful slaughter one way or another.
- Anonymous
Not as broken as the Mimic Tear, but easily superior in terms of cool factor, not to mention he's an absolute homie who will rarely let you down, this boy slaps and you can't really go wrong with him most of the time.
- Anonymous
This guy kicks a**. If you are confused on which summon to use, just pick this guy. He is tanky, has good damage, and his moveset is crazy. He looks so cool when he comes in and unsheathes his swords
- Anonymous
Who wouldn't want to side with a banished knight that can poise through anything, hit like a truck while having the durability of a truck, and being surprisingly speedy for a guy with 2 greatswords

I summoned this guy and suddenly I’m not the protagonist anymore.

Has he been nerfed in the last update? I found him a day or two ago and I upgraded him to +6. I summoned him on the edge of the blood-filled lake to see what he could do against the albinaurics here. They hit a lot harder than they do in liurnia so I was curious if he would live up to the hype. After I saw the damage he was doing I was pretty pis*ed off that I'd used six ghost glovewart to upgrade him, his attacks were only doing damage in the double figure range, I never once saw him hit for more than that. He did last a lot longer than I ever would have in the middle of all those enemies, but if I only wanted a decoy to draw agro there are better options that don't need ghost glovewart to upgrade them. If he hasn't been nerfed does anyone have any ideas as to why I was seeing damage that wasn't worth the FP cost of summoning him?

I haven't bothered with any of the hero's grave dungeons after seeing what fringefolk was all about, and I really don't like the idea of having to deal with those chariots. after seeing all the love oleg is getting in the comments though, its obvious I need to put in the effort to get his spirit ash. I've killed three ulcerated tree spirits up to now, they don't have the intimidation factor black blade kindred or the nights cavalry have, so I'm confident I can kill the one that drops this spirit ash, the dungeon itself is what concerns me, especially how many times I'm going to die trying to get to the boss room.

Oleg +10 has basically carried me through this amazing game. Much love to my dude!!

In my totally anecdotal/vibes based/don't-at-me-about-math-I-didn't-do-any-math-and-I'm-not-gonna estimation, aside from a purpose-built mimic tear, this is the most consistent summon in the game, and pound-for-pound the best. I don't know that I'd say he's the best summon for any individual fight, but I don't think there's a single boss he'd be lower than third. At 100 FP he costs less than Tiche, Dung, Lhutel, Rollo, Amon, Kristoff, and six or seven others.
You need 23 mind to summon Tiche
You need 16 mind to summon Oleg
(Ok I did a little math, by which I mean I looked at two tables)
My beautiful boy, bringing home that B+ every time.

As a dual greatsword strength build Claymore-Bastard
I'm so jealous of his move set
like damn I wish I could do that and that
I tested Dung, Omenkiller, Amon, Tiche and Oleg at the Gatefront grace (where there is that large group of lower-level knights). At least for group fights like this, the ranking is:
Dung > Omenkiller > Oleg > Tiche and Amon
Omenkiller and Oleg had really similar performance but Amon was definitely the worst, once getting down to 20% health. Dung was the best. Against large groups of humanoid enemies, his rolling gave him more survivability. Tiche of course has the coolest move set but I found that he performance is the most variable. Sometimes she performs similar to Omenkiller and Oleg but once she almost died (~5% health left).
On top of that - I witnessed Dung pull off a critical hit. I've never seen any other summon do that. Perhaps Tiche does it too but I haven't seen it happen. So I wonder if it is something specific to puppets.
In terms of sheer survivability though, I think that Omenkiller and Oleg are the most "consistent".
Overall though, I would consider Dung, Omenkiller and Oleg to be S+ Tier (as well as Mimic if you have a good build). You really can't go wrong with any of these. Aside from Mimic, Dung is probably the best if you have a bleed build.
Oleg SMASH…the best spirit in the game for me. Holds argo of bosses like crazy, destroys mobs, beefy as the ole 96er…this dude is a killer. Damn Oleg calm damn dude. lol

Is it worth getting FP high enough to summon him as a strength build?

Managed to Bewitching brank both of Niall's knights while summoning this dude. Was fun watching all three gang up on the guy.

Literally used nothing else but this guy the entire game since I got him, what a chad

summoning him for Commander Niall at Castle Sol made the first half of the battle very confusing, still an absolute unit tho.

Yeps, he might be outclassed by late game ashes, but Oleg still has a better ai! Oleg attack constantly and his storm attack can catch up with some annoying constantly moving bosses. When you take damage, Oleg will switch his target to protect you while others won't. Take him with you and he will be your shield!
- Anonymous
Does anyone know if his attacks with the whirlwinds cause frostbite buildup, like the banished knights in Castle Sol?
- Anonymous
When you summon him and he pulls out his swords, charges and spins at mach speed on enemies, you understand why they had to banish this beast.
- Anonymous
As of Patch 1.04 FP level scaling is much better and you only need 16 mind to be able to summon Oleg so aside from wretch, vagabond, and hero simply having the Godrick Great Rune active can allow most starters to summon Oleg, for those 3 other starters just equip the Marika Scarseal or invest a few levels into mind.
- Anonymous
One of the best spirit ashes. Significantly better than his brother knight Engvall and a tad better than Lhutel. Quite durable, very mobile and extremely aggressive. He is a solid performer (especially at +6-10). Worth spending your grave flowers on.
- Anonymous
i do not care if Oleg is outclassed by other summons in the late game. Nothing is cooler than this guy in full armor, with a majestic ponytail, walking slowly towards the enemy before turning into a literal beyblade. Not to mention his cute little duck feet
Oleg is the saviour for melee users, especially those with slower weapons

The moment I locked eyes with him at castle sol, I knew he had to be mine

Just started journey 2 with my +10 Oleg, immediately beat the ulcerated tree spirit and got his ashes again....but I noticed the description between the two is slightly different...... the final line changes a bit. Instead of "Oleg earned the hero's honor of Erdtree Burial" for the +0, it says "Oleg was welcomed back to the Erdtree as a hero" for +10. Anyone know if this happens for all +10 spirits?

Why is my oleg saying in his description : Oleg was welcomed back to the erdtree as a hero? is this something happens only in NG+?

Imma right out and say it folks, this guy right here kicks more a** than Lhutel. He almost solo'd the gargoyle in the Capital Leyendell at +7.

people are sleeping on this ash.
probaly the best ash for most of the game.
why?
1. insanely tanky. has very high hp.
2. aggresive as hell
3. great dmg due to wielding dual greatswords.
4. great at holding emity and regaining it.
5. available literally AT THE START OF THE GAME albeit difficult boss guards it but given his power this makes sense.
this is an S tier summon. there is a few slightly better ones but most of them arent available till way later in the game.

OK, some weirdness with this guy (on PS4). I haven't been to the locations he's found but sometime after patch1.03 he appeared in my spirit list anyway. I upgraded mind and used him a few times just for fun. Last night it installed 1.05 and he's gone again. Fortunately I now have the headless gal to replace him, but anyone else notice this?
- Anonymous
Oleg has got to be the most aggressive tanky summon I've found so far. He practically solo'd the first phase of rennala, then in the second phase he kept stunning her and stopping her casts. Very solid choice if you want an aggressive attacker.

Ok this dude is an absolute beast. He’s insanely tanky and does a ton of poise (stagger) damage. At +7 he tanked through margott and the subsequent black blade kindred

Have at +10 he is a super tank but with astel of the void. He doesn’t get close to attack unless you do, He’s like hey bro you asked for my help

I don't know how (or why) but I got this ashes without beating the Ulcerated Thee Spirit.

Created a (later) dismissed meme page on this guy. I upgraded him +10 ah he tanked the **** out of the final boss (not saying who he is, no spoilers).
- Anonymous
Really good unit for summoning against bosses, but needs to be upgraded a few times to be worthwhile. With a few upgrades (I have him at +5 at the time of this post) and he can tank well and do a decent amount of damage. Dual wields greatswords so he is even good for open world fighting with lots of wide swinging attacks, and was MVP for drawing aggro when fighting Double Gargoyle bosses.
- Anonymous
Oleg, more like third'leg cause he swings so much ****. Get him to +10 and you won't have to worry about a thing. He will stand there in lava, hyped on whatever spirit drug/vengeance he is fueled by that day and beyblade his way to victory. He will walk back panting ready for more demanding the souls of whoever is weak enough to be aggro'd by this monster.

I have him on +3 (lacking +4 ingredients), this guy tanks hard. I have acquired this guy very early (I did fight the tree spirit for 2-3 hours to get it). I have used him in all fights I could. I think he died in 3 fights ive done so far, all of which involves black flame or insane damage, like the dragonkin solders (the ones in the underground river zones) and he tanked most of the fight, despite the boss one shotting me. This guy is worth all the efforts I spent on him.

This guy can carry you all the way to castle sol at +5 with a +4 somber stone weapon. Highly recommend him for low level invasion characters.

Later in the game if you can get the Cerulean Hidden Tear you can use spells and summons for 10 secs without using any FP when you drink from the flask of physick. So for those who don't want to upgrade Mind there is still a chance to use him for bosses later.
- Anonymous
I don't even have 100 FP. Is it worth it to level up mind just to summon this spirit? I find spirits very useful in fighting bosses in general.

why i can use mimic ashes but cant use him on catacombs bosses

If you are attacked by mobs, Oleg will run back to you immediately and save you. Engvall never does that. Does any other spirit ashes do this at all?
