There are a lot of comments about Tiche being a top tier choice of summons for Malenia but she didn't do that well for me. I think RNGesus comes into play with this. Her AI isn't good enough to avoid the waterfowl dance every time and when it lands she'll be just as f**ked as the player would be, she isn't going to be soaking that damage up like a sponge. If she was the only summon I had fully upgraded I wouldn't summon her until the second phase.

Better than Mimic Tear. Why?

Mimic Tear's janky ass AI will refuse to make proper use of off-hand weapons 99% of the time. This means that on builds that rely heavily on offhand weapons (such as a Spellblade setup with an offhand staff or seal) the Mimic Tear will do vastly worse with your build than you would. You can technically work around this via equipment swapping, but navigating the equipment menu in the middle of a boss fight is annoying and fiddly. On some builds this isn't an issue, such as simple two-handed Strength builds, but it makes Mimic Tear's usefulness dependent on the type of build you're running.

No matter what kind of build you are running, Tiche is Tiche, and that will always be a wonderful thing to be.

She's incredible against Malenia but don't even bother to summon her for Radagon unless you want to waste a flask, she just hides in the back while you solo her since her ai is incredibly dodgy so she's practically afraid to even get near Radagon even if he isn't targeting her.

Well I have to say best spirit summon is either Tiche = potentially early gained summon that is solid from the get go vs Mimic = mid-late gained summon that can potentially be the strongest or even among the weakest depending on the PC that it clones

Dragon breath spams or AOE knockdown up against the invisible wall. These types of enemies in invasions i destroy with my level 20 shield charge char. Grab a greatshield with bleed already on it, put frost or poison buildup on it, light yourself on fire, put some health regen on like the talisman or incantation; easiest fights ever. Bullying dorks in the corner has been the ultimate win move since the arcade days of the 80s and 90s.

Blasphemous Blade 10 trivializes her in the Evergaol. If you have trouble with her early on, you can revisit her after picking up the blade once you kill Rykard. I nearly had her multiple times with Sword of Night and Flame 10 but, I always seemed to get greedy at about 10% and then couldn't get out of the "helmsplitter" or whatever its called. Finally, I decided to try Blasphemous Blade (first time to use it), leveled it up to 10, went in and killed her first try. It stun locks her to the ground. Depending on FP pool, you should only have to drink 1 flask to refill. I don't even count it as a win because the sword made it that easy and, considering I didn't have to execute the mechanics to beat her. Still, the ***** is mine now......

Tishe will dodge like everything Malenia does and float around the arena, sometimes staying insanely far away
but the moment Malenia uses anything that you /should/ get away from (Waterfowl, Aeonia), Tishe NEEDS to get in there and die immediately

im confused with this one. after finishing Rannis quest i went to kill the dragon out side. Tough AF but this Ashe was knocking huge chunks off and not taking much damage if at all. but anything other than that dragon its like watching a fresh lvl 1 player fight anything. no damage at all. like some lil plants was only getting hit for 10-20 at +4 lvl(not typo only double digits) !?!?!?! a plant but without upgrade and taking on end lvl dragon shes taking 8-900 + a status damage over time.

She helped me beat Malenia on a ng+2 run. I used dual ice swords with glintblade phalanx and tiche would knock her down and draw aggro while I froze her with jump slashes and stunned her. Brought a glintstone kris to attack from range too.

And she is simply fantastic against radagon and eb.

Good against easy bosses that you don't need it and worthless against the hard bosses like whore-lu. will die before the sweaty muscle boy second phase.

The trouble with this summons is that in boss fights that take a long time, like beastman/maliketh and the optional dragon placidusax, the buff wears out and they start regaining health. this means at the end when they are strongest, they are healing. You're essentially transferring all the health from the easy stage to the hard stage of the fight.

Ok, I have to admit, at lvl 109 i had enormous trouble vanquishing Tiche. It took me 30+ times before i knew her mechanics enough to stand a chance at all. When I finally bested her, i was so proud. I have had a lot of trouble killing the godskin in Volcano Manor trying it whith my Mimic. It finally took me under two minutes with this lady aboard, leaving me in sheer awe how easily she stopped fase 2 in which i always died.
This made me realize why i had so much trouble with beating her !

So everyone is saying "tiche has no face, or even a head" but nobody thinks why that is the case at all? Oke then let me ask you a question.

Wouldn't a assassin hide their Identity if they do their work?

I mean look at the normal black knife assassins. They use armor (their hood) that conceals their face by means of a shadow that their hood provide. So when you look at them you can't see their face becease of it.

Now tiche is a ghost/summon. And all summons/frienly ghost have nothing that conceals what they originaly looked like before they died. ( with a few exceptions) but tiche is not showing her face or even a head under her hood why is that you ask? Becease she is obviously hiding it.

How does she do that we don't know nor is that important to be honest. It's just that you have to do with what you get, and what makes sence. Fromsoft always keeps thing from us lore wise, so that we might find the answers our selfs. And that is normal for fromsoft to make fans speculate their about their characters and worlds.

This site massively inflates the value of this summon. It's a good summon don't get me wrong, but if the boss is immune to knockdown, there's definitely better options over her. Without the knockdown, she's pretty much only good for the max health dmg, which with a summon that will actually be more aggressive you could easily accomplish the same or better dmg while managing to keep boss aggro, something tiche can't do for **** because she focuses so heavily on dodging around

Tarnished are the most inconsistent spirit ash in the game. Sometimes they'll completely shred the boss with barely any input needed, but most of the time they just play distraction so I can put in Blades of Death. Now, neither of those are bad properties, but I think I'll stick with my Black Knife Ringleader Alecto ashes.

I’ve always noticed that when Malenia begins her fight by walking slowly to you, Tiche almost always hits with her blade of death. So when she’s running, you might want to use black blade or blade of death yourself if you need the debuff.

Ranged attack will always be relevant due to hp scaling and dodge tanks enemy attacks. She performs the spirit ash job properly since she can deal damage and be a strong distracting tank to take the load off of you. Truly is one of the best ashes in the game, might even be better than mimic tear.

I just had an odd problem with Tiche, while fighting the first Farum Azula dragon.

The fight takes place on a long, tilted walkway with a fall-to-your-death edge on the right and a wall on the left (as you enter the area). A minute or less into the fight, Tiche started walking into the wall. Facing the wall, her legs moving, not doing anything else. She paid no attention to the dragon, which began taking an unhealthy interest in me. I died.

I worried that this unfortunate career choice on Tiche's part would continue, but it didn't. In the next couple of my attempts against the dragon she performed appropriately, and eventually we won.

I've never seen this problem before, with Tiche or any other summon. Has anyone else seen it?

Tiche is the only summons that managed to get killing blows against four major bosses for me, Maelina, the Fire Giant, Radagon and the Elden Beast, get this summons and get it to +10, you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely bonkers against Malenia. Will dodge most of her attacks and rip off 1/10th if her health with her ranged attack. Managed to even score the killing blow in the second phase, vs my level 10 mimic tear that struggled to make it past the first.

I tested Dung, Omenkiller, Amon, Tiche and Oleg at the Gatefront grace (where there is that large group of lower-level knights). At least for group fights like this, the ranking is:

Dung > Omenkiller > Oleg > Tiche and Amon

Omenkiller and Oleg had really similar performance but Amon was definitely the worst, once getting down to 20% health. Dung was the best. Against large groups of humanoid enemies, his rolling gave him more survivability. Tiche of course has the coolest move set but I found that he performance is the most variable. Sometimes she performs similar to Omenkiller and Oleg but once she almost died (~5% health left).

On top of that - I witnessed Dung pull off a critical hit. I've never seen any other summon do that. Perhaps Tiche does it too but I haven't seen it happen. So I wonder if it is something specific to puppets.

In terms of sheer survivability though, I think that Omenkiller and Oleg are the most "consistent".

Overall though, I would consider Dung, Omenkiller and Oleg to be S+ Tier (as well as Mimic if you have a good build). You really can't go wrong with any of these. Aside from Mimic, Dung is probably the best if you have a bleed build.

This thing is so good. Was taking a few tries on Mohg then decided, "What if i try a spirit ash for this?" then saw i got all ghost gloveworts and heard tiche was good. Started upgrading and the next try we beat Mohg with no sweat.

According to the Stormhawk King spirit ashes can refuse to be summoned if they so wish. That's to say, you killed Tiche's mother and took her spirit ashes away, but she's still willing to be summoned by you?
