      Tbh if you’d played through this game enough to care about the benefits of his items for PVP and you’re locked out, then just speedrun to NG+ and go straight to Liurnia.

          I soft locked this by just not noticing him as I wandered through liurnia. Found the “secret” path up to the plateau an boom! No more tasty snacks.

          I didn’t even kill him and I’m out the quest.

            I really hope they fix this awful quest. I've been softlocked from it 2 times in a row. For equally bs reasons. First was the standard killing him before buying the necklace and the second is from him going to Lyendel (for some reason I did not do his quest) and then getting nuked. Now in 2 of my pvp files I'm at a complete disadvantage to people who want to be wusses and use this. I'm worried to go ng+ because I'm worried about not getting the same match making (around 125-135) but if it's fine please tell me so I can quickly go ng+, get this and continue dueling.

              It is stuff like this that causes a PVP imbalance. Those who have access get buffs. Those that don't have access can't. Sometimes I shake my head at the extremely dumb design decisions they make.

                FFS what is it with the spoilers on this site?!

                “If you complete Blackguard Big Boggart's questline, this bell bearing will be on his body considering he dies at the end of it.”

                Why in the world is this phrasing needed?

                “Awarded at the end of Big Boggarts quest” is all the information that’s needed.

                You guys are the worst

                  This needs to give you the consumables after you finish the game. Because otherwise the only goddamn way is to go NG+

                    After killing him cus i locked myself out of the quest by doing the volcano manor stuff first i got his bell bearings and i gave them to the twin maiden husk going into the bell bearing shop it only shows me the option to buy ryas necklace which i already have and no option to buy prawns or crabs is this a bug or indended?

                    • Anonymous

                      Killed him because his story was soft locked since I went to the manor early. This bearing sells you literally nothing. Utter garbage.

                          i killed him because hes just a filty thief and now i cant get me prawn on OR spread out! sometimes i really hate you fromsoft

                          • Anonymous

                            Agony, i assumed killing him would let you get boiled crab early, plus i wanted him balls early in a completely platonic way of course. Is there really no way to get the recipe to boil crustaceans yourself D;

                            • Anonymous

                              The bell bearing does indeed give you the ability to buy Boiled Prawn and Boiled Crab along with Rya's Necklace when you get it at the end of Boggart's questline. If someone could add that to this page that would be great.

                                His bell drop matches whatever level his shop is currently at so its still possible to get prawns/crabs on the cheap even if he is killed or dies as part of a quest as long as he was selling them when he died.
