Can you only get lightning or standard affinity when applying this AoW, or does it work with other affinities as well and I'm just missing something?

You guys need to understand, I thought it was bad too. But when I look at it like a bloodhound step that does damage on arrival, it felt a lot better. I use it to chase enemies that back up or if you use it up close you'll zip behind the enemy. I use this on my Lord Great sword and it's pretty good.

Is there a proper way to use this efficiently in PvE or the skill is just bad?

They should enable a unique input out of a blink, so the Light/Heavy becomes a Dashing attack variant.
- Anonymous
They should have given it an elemental buff like how Flame Spear has one so we don't have to use dogshit Lightning Slash on lightning/sacred affinity weapons

This definitely should have had a follow up like the blinkbolt skill on the paired axes and greataxe.
Even if it's just a small AoE of the lightning being released.

Actually useless AoW. Which sucks cause I really wanted to like this ability, but it feels halfbaked.
Blink bolt does what other ashes do, but worse.

Does this ash have follow up moves? What's the ( - - ) after the FP cost?

A less reliable version of Hornsent's skill. Its better to get Hornsent's AOW on a lightning affinity overall. But blinkbolt DOES look pretty dang cool :3

Guys do you think we can make fromsoft give it a cool follow up somehow bc its just an awesome looking skill that need a buff we got all these cool fire follow up moves it would be a shame for this to Stay in this state. I always wanted a Ash of War like the Commander Neil Fists or something on my Smithing Weapons if someone hast connections or know a way how fromsoft Sees this pls do wonders my friend i would love it so so much

too slow to be a effective bloodhound step to short to be a gap closer to little damage to be a pressure tool
what the hell is the point of this

this skill is a bit nutty, you are not just invincible while incorporeal, but outright have no hurtbox, so you can safely use it to phase through attacks. on top of that, as you phase back in you have a hitbox, so it might combo into things that can attack out of it fast enough, or can be used to finish off someone. very versatile.

I do like the fact that it doesn't provided you immediately with i-frames on frame 1, as it rewards good timing and prediction.
But if From Software wants to go down that route, they need to give this ash of war something more, otherwise it is just directly outclassed by its competition, quickstep and bloodhound's step. Both those skills cost less fp and provide i-frame on frame 1.
Maybe they could give this skill a follow-up like twin axes and longhaft axe, or make it so it buffs your weapon with extra lightning damage for a short time. They could give you the ability to dodge in every direction even while locked on, or hell, even making the lightning affinity scale with faith when applying this ash of war on a weapon. That'll surely make people use it.
