Bone Bolt is an Arrow in Elden Ring. Bone Bolt is a craftable item carved from a thin animal bone. Ammunition can be used in ranged weapons such as Bows and Crossbows, so players can deal ranged damage to Enemies and Bosses.
Bolt carved from a thin animal bone. Craftable item.
Though the tip is certainly sharp, it does not fly particularly true.

I’m using these with my Pulley Crossbow for a crossbow run, and they’re extremely useful.
As long as you have enough thin animal bones, you essentially never run out of ammo if you have breaks between combat situations.
I HIGHLY recommend getting the Bone Peddler’s Bell Bearing, for an infinite supply of cheap ammunition.
You can carry 999 animal bones and 699 bone bolts, 2 bones = 10 bone bolts.
True to their description, these bolts fly a shorter distance than their purchased counterpart, as well as shooting off into the top left of whatever you’re shooting at.
These bolts are only suitable for close and maybe medium range, if you can get used to aiming these.

Just stating the math here: If you buy bones for this, you're spending 300 runes for 10 bolts, so 30 runes per bone bolt. So bone bolts cost 30 each, and have 40 base damage. Regular Bolts cost 40 each, and have 50 base damage. Your call on whether or not that's worth it. It's much funnier with bone arrows, because normal arrows cost 20 each while plain bone arrows cost 45 each. But in either case, it's basically worth it to buy bones if you're crafting SPECIAL arrows/bolts (at least, special arrows/bolts made of easily collectable resources), because the corresponding non-bone special arrows/bolts are a lot more expensive.
