Eliminates all FP consumption in mixed physick
|
Cerulean Hidden Tear is a Crystal Tear in Elden Ring. Crystal Tears can be mixed in the Flask of Wondrous Physick to determine its effect.
A crystal tear formed slowly over the ages where the Erdtree's bounty falls to the ground.
Can be mixed in the Flask of Wondrous Physick.
The resulting concoction removes all FP consumption.
However, this effect is only brief and will quickly expire.

Cerulean Hidden Tear Notes & Tips
- FP is not consumed by any actions that normally consume FP for 10 seconds. (As of V1.12)
- You can perform actions that would normally consume more FP than your max (e.g. summoning expensive Spirit Ashes that you cannot afford normally).
- Weapon skills and spells that only consume FP, such as Comet Azur, Crystal Torrent, Meteorite, Meteorite of Astel, Prelate's Charge, Rock Blaster, Spinning Wheel, Surge, O Flame! and Unendurable Frenzy, can be used continuously.
- Has no effect on Tongues of Fire, the weapon skill still consumes FP even when the tear is used.
- You can find Crystal Tears at the bases of Minor Erdtrees and elsewhere throughout the Lands Between.
- At sites of grace, you can mix two Crystal Tears in the Flask of Wondrous Physick. (This will allow you to create elixirs with various custom effects.)

Don't bother with this unless they buff it to 25 seconds mininum. You have too many better options for fp management, don't waste a one-use phisyck on 10 lousy seconds.
- Anonymous
This didn't need to be nerfed given that the primary use case was to kill bosses, I personally don't care if John Eldenring wants to laser a boss to death, it doesn't affect me other than when I invade someone like him and atomize his 9 Vigor frail body very anticlimatically, at least it ended quickly and I can just move on to the next guy I invade. Balance patches should be more so directed at correcting problematic behavior, like when they rightfully nerfed Rivers of Blood for being oppressively strong and unfun to play against. The fact that there are PvP exclusive balance adjustments at all is a testament that they want wacky stuff to still be wacky in PvE while not completely shattering the integrity of a PvP setting, so can someone remind me why was this touched at all? Was it TOO wacky? What silly reasoning!

This has been pathetically reduced from "Two free spells" to "One free spell."
Why? What a waste of a physick.
- Anonymous
Mine works fine in pve but doesn't work at all in pvp had to change my pvp build style to suit it
- Anonymous
I didn’t even notice the nerf until I was fighting Prime Radahn and it would run out before I could get Dungeater on the field. I either have to use the opaline tear or just get good rng and not get hit with that spin out the starting gate. The only reason I’m complaining is because my character is RL1 so it’s hard enough as is.
- Anonymous
To the trash bin it will remain, until it has a decent duration once again. There are too many better crystal tears for my one-use physick for me to bother with this garbage.
- Anonymous
I have watched players pop this tear and stand around for ten seconds doing nothing. It pains me.
- Anonymous
Lmao, people crying about the nerf. If you weren't using Comet Azur, 10 seconds is more than enough for your buffs and summons. If you were using Comet Azur, you're still able to nuke bosses, you just need to do more than press a button as soon as you walk through the door. Been playing a mage for DLC and didn't even realize this was nerfed until now.
- Anonymous
For melee users with long combo ashes of war, cerulean sappping tear is way better. Stormcaller, barbaric roar, swift slash, spinning gravity thrust, waterfoul dance, etc... it's basically infinite hp as long as you hit the enemy and lasts waay longer. It can even work for pure casters with carian regal scepter's spinning staff. This crystal tear is too niche now.
- Anonymous
so I'm pretty new and haven't used it before nerf. in my second playthrough (sorcery only) I've been using this tear a lot and didn't even know about the nerf until literally right now, honestly it feels very balanced as it is now, slightly stronger than cerulean crystal tear. note: I did exactly 0 pvp so I can't talk about that but in pve its rarely the best but still often very helpful
This still works for getting buffs before fighting a boss, although now you have to be very quick to use them before it runs out.
- Anonymous
Oh nooooo my YouTube build doesn’t work anymore now I have to learn how to play the game :(
- Anonymous
Because of this nerf, now you re forced to put obnoxious amounts of levels on mind to keep shooting crystal torrent... ffs comet azur is completely useless against anything that can take a step to the side. Are you really this incompetent at balancing, fromsoft?
- Anonymous
5 seconds less? Big whoop. I can still kick gum and chew ass with those 10 seconds.
- Anonymous
Can't one shot Mohg with this now, what an indignation! Now I have to hang back and spam rock sling like I do at the start of the game. SMH haha
- Anonymous
Nerf nerf nerf it's all nerfsoft knows these days. They give us only like 10 sorceries in the dlc, all of which are mediocre (rellanas moon looks cool but I haven't tried it) and then nerf the •••• out of the actual decent stuff. Why can't they just let people play how they want?
- Anonymous
It went from an incredibly necessary utensil to let players play with the comically overcosted spirit ashes without having to spend 20 levels in mind
To
Still that, but now Int builds can't alpha strike everything out of existence.
Mage cheese losers cry, 144fp spirit ashes enjoyers still happi

IMO this should be changed to reduce FP costs by X% for 180s, like other effects that last 180s... negating FP consumption for 10s just makes some very specific builds under specific cases very strong. Reducing all FP consumption would be much more usable generally.
Anyone saying this is useless now is wrong, you just gotta time it very precisely. I'm using it in invasions on playstation, my char name is Mad Mimic Tear. Use ironjar aromatic and pop this in front of the host with Crimsonwhorl Bubbletear, then use unendurable frenzy. If you time it right then you can use it for exactly 9 seconds for free on top of whatever your FP gives you (6 seconds more in my case with 34 mind and 194 FP) which is more than enough to stunlock and kill the host and their finger posse. It's extremely good if you use it in the right time and place, closed interiors work best.

Idk when did this happen, but all it's utility is gone. 10 seconds? The first second is wasted in the animation of drinking physick (ds2 estus drinking speed because reasons) and the fastest startup of the spells that could benefit from infinite fp (wich would be meteorite of astel's startup) takes 2 seconds minimum, so it actually is 7 practical seconds in wich the tear is used. This is only the case for when you're already positioned and the stars align for the foe in question to receive the spells, a process that can take another 3 seconds so the average user that casually plays the game has 5 seconds to use this tear.
This is beyond useless now. I'm not equipping it ever again until they give it a minimum of 25 seconds of duration.

To all the people whining about the nerf to the Azur cheese and quitting/boycotting the game and DLC: you wouldn't be able to pull this off on any of the DLC bosses anyway
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
One of the few things spellcasters had going for them got cucked. Thanks fromsoft.
- Anonymous
Dogshit sorceries in the DLC compared to incantations. Then they nerf this.
I see how it is.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
People who are overreacting and say they won't buy the DLC because of this nerf are not human beings lmao
- Anonymous
Another example of fromsoft ruining people's fun for no good reason whatsoever wish I could get a refund on the dlc fromsoft doesn't deserve my money.
- Anonymous
Glad I looked at the patch notes. Easy call not the buy the DLC.

Rip, I used to be able to cast Terra Magica, then ran is dark moon, then 3-4 seconds of comet Azur for free. Now comet Azur starts consuming mana straightaway. That’s sad but the nerf was needed honestly, **** was too op. Though now you can cast Terra Magica preemptively and probably rabbis moon too, then consume the flask and then launch comet Azur, still gonna shred

Using this to summon Cleanrot Knight Finlay on an otherwise low-mind Cleanrot Knight semi-RP character I'm playing as (with Commander's Standard, not usually considered a Cleanrot weapon but it matches pretty nicely visually with the set).
- Anonymous
It is beyond me why it doesn't work with continous dragon breaths....
Guessing this would be the only way to summon Tiche at level 1
- Anonymous
wouldn't mind a stamina version of this. activate sekiro mode

another glitch. if your FP is completely depleted, you can't use weapon arts using this tear. spells still work, though. tested it with moonveil, glinstone kris, and the scepter of all-knowing. the skill name on the left side of the screen stops being grayed out, but the skills don't actually work.

This plus bloodflame blade on anything that has prelates charge is op
- Anonymous
Also known as the Kamehameha Enabler, for anyone with Comet Azur. With roughly the same results.
- Anonymous
This is good for low mind builds that want to use high fp summons like tiche and finlay without leveling up mind or wasting a estus flask on mimic tear.
- Anonymous
This is dumb, why not just make this give you an X amount of free FP to spend relative to your current FP. With no time limit, this would make it more useful for cheap spells and less useful the more expensive the spell. Now this tear is just pigfeed for boss cheesers

Glad to see this got restored. Seemed almost useless after patch 1.04.
- Anonymous
No idea why people in the comments say like the change was intentional. Also not sure why the wiki page change the text were it said the 7 seconds part was unintentional change. The patch notes for 1.04 clearly stated it was unintentional change that was going to be reverter in an upcoming update. And now their update said 1.04 it was reverted.
Went to test it and it does in fact lasts 15 seconds again.
- Anonymous
Didnt they changed this literally 21 hours ago back to 15 seconds?

As of patch 1.07 just released today, Cerulean Hidden Tear has now been fixed and is back to its 15 sec duration. As a pure sorcery build I'm happy. XD
- Anonymous
Patched back to 15 secs in latest patch.
Make Cerulean Hidden Tear great again fellow tarnished
- Anonymous
They fixed the accidental nerf today. Its probably back to its old duration
- Anonymous
Apparently it was bugged and now it's back to how it was before
- Anonymous
It's back to normal thank God my int co op build is back to full strength...
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
I wish this also affected Ashes of War. I would love to have infinite flames with my Visage Shield lol
- Anonymous
Is it normal that it doesnt reduce the cost of Ashes of War?
- Anonymous
become rock shower with meteorite of astel. scream POWAAAAAAAAAAAAA for more effect :D
- Anonymous
A nice reword would be for the timer to start when your fp is first used as opposed to when the flask is drunk. Then 7-10 seconds might be a good balance
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Unpopular opinion, I know, but the game was much more fun before patch 1.04.
- Anonymous
I got the tear for my sorcerer build JUST AS the patch nerfed it by accident lol.
That said I've never felt super pressed on FP by around 35 Mind and 6 blue flasks, but maybe that's just because I never used it prior to the patch and I don't really like using Azur's comet because it's too slow and requires more precise openings.
- Anonymous
bring it to 20 seconds and make it reduce fp costs by 33% instead of 100% reduction for 15 seconds.
- Anonymous
7 seconds in PvP is fine, but I hope they put it back up to 15 for PvE. One guy with comet azur shouldn't ruin it for everyone else.
- Anonymous
I think they should keep the duration at 10 seconds. That seems like a good middle ground between the new duration and the old one
- Anonymous
on my fourth playthrough I decided to be a mage and see how it feels to nuke a boss with this... I drink the flask, animation of drinking takes about 1 second, I start channeling meteorites or any long channeling spell, after one second mana already starts being consumed. Basically this is useless now and can be removed from the game after the patch unless they actually revert it
- Anonymous
does anything else in the game give the dark blue effect around the player? I like this effect a lot more than the turquoise of the magic boosting and intelligence boosting tears...

Accidental nerf absolutely ruins this item. Cant even get more than one spell in before it ends, and thats if you have everything else ready. If you have to swap weapons, or use a spell with a long charge time you get nothing. Glad its only temporary.
- Anonymous
Should it be nerfed? A bit, perhaps. A more than 50% reduction? That was definitely way too much of a nerf. Literally get about 2 seconds of Comet cast time with that kind of nerf, leaves it essentially useless. Make it more like a 10 or 11 second duration, that way the duration isn't wasted on the cast animation and can actually do some work.
- Anonymous
No, we don't need this reverted, thanks for the offer though.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Duration reduction to around 7 seconds in patch 1.04 was unintentional and should be reverted.
Quote from patch notes:
"Please note: This patch mistakenly included an update to the duration of the Cerulean Hidden Tear, shortening it. This unintentional change will be reverted with a minor patch in the near future. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused."
- Anonymous
Unironically like it at 7-8 seconds with the new patch. It feels more fair. You can use the window to buff up big or fire off 1-2 fat spells. Certainly beats 15 seconds of Stars of Ruin spamming.
- Anonymous
Duration reduction in 1.04 confirmed to be a bug and will be fixed in future patch.

Significantly reduced the length of the effect in patch 1.04. Bummer….
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Urg, it has been reduced to 6-7 seconds after the new patch....I was wondering why my duration was cut short significantly while fighting radagon....
- Anonymous
Bamco has confirmed the nerf to duration for this tear was unintended, here's hoping they push the hotfix sooner rather than later.
- Anonymous
Was unintentionally nerfed in 1.04 (duration was halved) and will be fixed with a minor patch in the near future according to the official Elden Ring Twitter.
- Anonymous
"unintentionally" nerfed, meaning they actually wanted to nerf it but then backed down but forgot to increase it back to 15 secs
- Anonymous

It was fun while it lasted. Stick it in the pile of useless garbage now.
This tear still reigns if you want to summon spirits without investing in mind. Low rl runs for example
