Cleanrot Knight's Sword is the longest Thrusting Sword in Elden Ring despite appearing shorter than the Estoc. Cleanrot Knight's Sword scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity, but in the long run scales higher with Strength rather than Dexterity. Overall, it is a good Weapon for those who want to wield it.

Drops from most Lesser Cleanrot Knights.
The single Cleanrot Knight outside the Prayer Room Site of Grace in Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree is a convenient location for farming. [Map link]
For a farming spot much earlier in the game, starting at the Inner Aeonia Site of Grace, head South through the roots and there will be a Cleanrot Knight amidst several Aoenian Butterflies

Base drop rate is 4% (at 100 Discovery).
Despite its similar size and shape, it does not share the slashing moves of the Estoc.
NOTE: As of Patch 1.08, the speed of Thrusting Swords' crouching attacks has been reduced. Poise damage has also been reduced, but only for PVP.

  Damn shame that this weapon is basically the Elden Ring version of the Murky Hand Scythe. This thing has been my trusty offhand weapon since around when the game launched, now I feel kind of bad whenever I use it so I typically try not to at all. Definitely great for getting that final hit in PvP though. Given all the garbage in this game, having this as an offhand option as someone who uses colossal weapons is basically necessary.

  Reputation aside, it's a shame this weapon is so unappealing to look at. I like the shape of the blade and the way it tapers, but the weird ricasso that's covered in dried up rot goo and the ugly scabbard with broken belt rings just don't do it for me. Darn shame, because the heavy thrust R2 is wonderful, and as a bladesmith I just can't deal with the estoc's slashing strong attack.

  I have recently discovered The Fun that is this baby keen-infused with a mainhanded guardian swordspear. Coming from someone whose pretty much only used off-meta weapons before discovering this combo...it's very very nice.

  I just use it because it looks nice and has the closest thing to the DeS Estoc moveset. Had no idea it had such a bad reputation. I don't do pvp though, so it's fine.

  I've started using a Guardian UGS with WoD and this thing as a backup to finish off people (with the Thunderbolt AOW), simply because it has the highest dmg of all rapiers when heavy infused, and is the longest.
  
  Never got so many people quitting while using my full STR build. Then I came here and now I know why. I had no idea this weapon was considered THE super-cancer among the regular cancer that are thrusting swords

  They obviously made it too long but the real issue is 2h poise break + ash selection+ spear talisman+ powerstance. I’m not here to complain just pointing out that in pvp, the weapon does all the work for us, and ash selection allows max oppression. Quickstep is simultaneous poke trades from invincibility, which is worse than shield poking. Cragblade nullifies the one soft-counter, poise. Endure is still disgusting on thrust. And powerstance + winged sword talismans etc allow absurd damage. I personally use poisonous mist with offhand halo scythe to poise break hyper armor bois and shoot down people who try to bolus. I don’t even use spear talisman but quality cleanrot sword still wins trades against anything that doesn’t thrust and my r1 spam into collosal is net positive for me, even if I’m trade hit. Spear talisman is just bonkers and overkill except on spears, which have low damage to balance out thrust trades. Cleanrot has no shortcomings and beats out even heavy thrust swords.

  Gonna try a Cleanrot Knight Build with this. Idk whether to mainhand this with repeating thrust(or something else to imitate their moveset) and 2h the Scythe or Spear to use their skills, or mainhand the somber weapons.

  Started using this as my backup weapon for my Faith Lightning build and it's pretty great. Slap Stormstomp on it and then R2-R1-R1 is kind of nice. Also good for poke interrupting people and then countering with an Incantation.

  play this on a strength build 2 handed with sekiro firecrackers. It has some of the best startup and recovery frames in the game and its range is insane. The rapier class overall is extremely powerful in this game, they dominate every non hyper armor weapon with ease because they're just faster and you can roll cancel faster than anything in the game. The only real downside is the low poise damage and you'll have problems against anyone with high poise using any hyper armor thrusting weapon. In that case just mimic those players and use this as a trusted secondary for chase downs and finishing off weak foes.

  PSA: It is technically possible to "afk" farm for this, and other Cleanrot Knight pieces from the hostile enemies in the War-Dead catacombs in Radahn's arena. The drop rate isn't great, but it sure beats running around in the swamp of aeonia for hours.

  Allow me to correct my self: This weapon is already incredibly good, but then quickstep unlocks even more combos with it *WHILE TARGETING* an enemy/duelist, making it all the more incredible. The powerstance quickstep moveset is really good and inputs can be delivered still pretty late after the main quickstep animation is done. Overall 9/10 weapon.

  There's an ambush point around the Somber Stone 4 just south of the Heart of Aeonia grace with 6 knights hiding in the muck around a petrified corpse. Hit them with a fire spell or something while they're inactive and easy enough to one shot.

  Whoever wrote that this drops in the war dead catacombs is brain-dead. It drops from cleanrot knights in other areas as well.
  By all means eat some glue and farm the ones that are immune to status, can teleport, and gank you with 20 other enemies.

  There's some people saying this is the best weapon in the game below, and some people wondering why. I'll elaborate for those looking into this weapon.
  
  Thrusting swords in this game are nuts. You can poke behind a shield, the moveset is incredibly fast and lunges you forward with each strike helping you stagger enemies before they can hit you first. Like seriously, these things swing almost as fast as daggers, while retaining nearly the stagger and stance breaking properties of a straight sword. The powerstance is also crazy, but I won't cover that as everyone already knows that.
  
  If you like guard countering, boy do i have good news for you, the thrusting sword guard counter has ALMOST as much stance damage as a straight sword, with more range and a fast animation. Even better, because the thrusting sword r1s are so fast, you can guard counter straight into an r1 in one smooth animation. There are only a couple weapon classes capable of doing this (daggers, fists, and curiously curved greatswords can do it too). All other classes basically restart their r1 animation cycle which is slow.
  
  This is amazing because it allows you to guard counter and r1 before your enemy fully falls into their stance break, essentially letting you get a free hit in. Most other weapon classes will wake an enemy up from their stance break if you try this. If you don't stance break from an guard counter r1 combo, you can easily bring your shield back up before the enemy counter attacks for another round. It's that fast.
  
  This is assuming your enemy either recoiled their strike from your greatsheild, or your guard counter was able to at least stagger the enemy. Certain larger enemies are difficult to do this against because many of their attacks do not recoil, and the thrusting sword guard counter is not strong enough to stagger them, omens in the sewer come to mind. But stance breaking ashes will easily solve that problem for you, like glintblade phalanx.
  
  Finally, as for why this particular thrusting sword is the best over estoc, I'd say its due to its strength over dex scaling and base damage. This sword under ANY infusion will do more damage then the estoc with the same stats. However on hybrid infusions (like cold), this sword has better strength scaling allowing better use with greatshield builds. If you know you're going dex/int for example, estoc will be better obviously.
  
  The moveset is also better here imo. The range is negligibly shorter, but the r2s are a very fast long range poke. The slashes on estoc r2 are slow and awkward imo. That's more personal preference i suppose.
  
  All in all, I find myself spoiled by this weapon. It's so hard to go back to playing anything else. The only downside is the obnoxious farm for this item.

  Out of curiosity, does this have any special powerstance moves when used with the Cleanrot Spear? It'd make sense, since Cleanrot Knights dual wield those two, and there's precedent with the Wakizashi behaving as a katana for powerstancing.

  I'm running a faith build and power-stancing these with Sacred Blade and Flame Strike. If you two-hand the Sacred Blade one you can apply the holy buff, then go back to power-stancing to apply the fire buff on the other. Lotta fun to run around with glowy and flamey blades :) Pop on Winged Sword Insignia and Thorny Cracked Tear for extra fun

  The best place to farm clean rot gear is in the swamps of aoenia from the inner aoenia grace. You can kill like 6 of them per reset and keep the silver fowl buff on you don't teleport to the grace.

  I'am really happy to see FROM decided to include a STR scaling Thrusting Sword, I've always liked using these while guarding but hated having to invest in DEX to use them.

  I don't have one yet so I can't test it myself but out of curiosity has anyone tried to dual wield it with the cleanrot spear or scythe.
  Its probably a long shot but that description says it's usually wielded with a long weapon so it might have a special moveset like the wakizashi does

  The knight right before the boss fight in the swamp confirmed to drop this weapon. Easy farm, literally right next to a grace. The crimson rot is annoying though, but manageable.

  Very beautiful looking weapon, though it pccupies an unusual niche... it's a STR based rapier! (STR outpaces DEX scaling around weapon level 16). I suppose it might be useful if you want pierce damage on your STR build and don't want to use the pickaxe, but I've mostly just been using it because it looks cool lol.

  It's shorter than Estoc. Just use Estoc.
