Companion Jar is a Talisman in Elden Ring. Companion Jar raises potency of Throwing Pots by 20%. Players can use Talismans in Elden Ring to boost a variety of Stats.
A talisman given by the jars to their friends.
Raises potency of thrown jars.
Though the jars are brought to life by human flesh and blood, they are all rather kindly folk. Perhaps they were made to be better than their innards.

Where to find Companion Jar in Elden Ring
Where to find Companion Jar:
- Given by Jar Bairn upon completing his questline. After he mentions going on a journey to become a Warrior Jar, give him Alexander's Innards, exhaust his dialogue, then reload the area. The talisman is found where he was once seated.

- Sell Value:

- For even greater potency, consider pairing this with the Jar helmet.
- This content was added in Patch 1.03, on March 17th.
Love how they added him a little ring up there so we can use it as a key ring

So for anyone that accidentally hits him at any point in the quest (I did it one reload before you get the talisman) you can go use celestial dew at the church of vows and when you go back to Jarburg it will be on the step where he was sitting. Hope this helps someone!

if you kill him he doesnt drop the item. do not shortcut it like i did.
- Anonymous
I just want him to be with me at all times, I don't care about the buff

This quest bugged out for me and got stuck on the dialogue "wish we could find a potentate as strong as you" despite resting at the grace multiple times, traveling other places, and restarting my system. Diallos never showed up so I killed jar bairn hoping he would drop the talisman and he didn't. Super uncool.
I forgot to give Jar Bairn Alexander's innards before I began a new journey. God damn it.

With jar helmet, this talisman and tera magica I'm hitting people for above 800 dmg with academy glintstone pots in 3v3s. Fear the pots.

To the mad lad who slipped that pun in at the end... all of my respect and hate goes out to you.
- Anonymous
I just used the jar summon for a unlimited jar supply anyway

Wow, this sure looks like a good charm for early game where pots are somewhat good. Surely its available easily and not in the last area of the game right?... right?

Jars are pretty much the mascots of this game, like the Companion Cube of Portal. I like to think this item confirms it.
Turn your pitiful little jars into handheld weapons of mass destruction with this crazy little trick!

I accidentally smushed him, whilst I was on his final conversation, and didn't get the talisman. Sorry little dude.
Got this after I beat the game, oh well patches 500 it is, unless dlc?

God I wish this was available earlier than what is essentially post-endgame. A level 15 vagabond with no stats or ranged options would LOVE this, but I have to wait til I'm a level 150 godkiller, after I've long given up jars as a ranged option in favor of nuke spells and exploding AoWs.

I completed the Alexander's quest and Bairn is stucked in the prhase: I'm suppose that's part of being a warrior isn't it?

Even if its not the most useful,it still has one of the most adorable designs for a talisman.

quests like these are why I need to play games like Kingdom Hearts and Metal Gear Rising to decompress
and this is the least depressing one in the game

Both the "Companion Jar" and the "Jar" headgear sadden me greatly by virtue of taking so long to acquire.
I am making a pun character: "Honorary Jar Edd"; and it is sad that I can't rock that beautiful pot over my head and throw fire pots with the boosted damage from both it and the Talisman.

I can confirm that the Diallos questline is totally optional to get this but the Alexander one is not. You don't need to have the village attacked at all but just make sure to totally exhaust Bairn's dialogue, you might have to rest at the grace once or twice but once you get the dialogue about how you probably won't see him again just keep talking until he repeats and go rest at the grace again and the item will be where he was.

With Flame, Grant Me Strength, Fire Scorpion Charm and Flame-Shrouding Cracked Tear (along with this and Jar helm) on Giantsflame Fire Pot, I've been getting 1.2-1.5k dmg w/ 55 Fth. Considering Pot Throwing is much faster than most spell casting, that's pretty damn solid. The range is a bit lacking, but I'm still happy I'm seeing these numbers with pots. RIP Alex.

I only comment here to say, that i appreciate the bold characters of POTency in the description on the right.

"Though the jars are brought to life by human flesh and blood, they are all rather kindly folk.", most of them still attack you on sight anyways

Sleep, rot and frost pots are pretty good in pvp because they all proc in 1 throw. None of them particularly benefit from increased jar damage though.

Such a fun item that should be given at the beginning for pot builds, they give in the endgame...
- Anonymous
This plus the jar hat and the right build can lead to some impressive damage.
Sacred order pots can do over 1000 damage.
- Anonymous
does...anyone actually use throwing pots? The throw animation is longer than most spells
- Anonymous
And the "cutest talisman award" goes to... Companion Jar!!

patch 1.03 gave jar consumables 200 flat damage but nerfed scaling a bit. If you can get this early jar bomb crafting can be very strong.
Perhaps they were made to be better than their innards - lol

The boost from this and Jarhead are nice but is it viable at all? Perhaps oil pot+ volcano pot combo would be nice but what about everything else?
I hope someone more inquisitive then me actually does some research on this

Does anyone know if you can receive this without Diallos alive?
- Anonymous
This is obtained after giving Alexander's Innards to Jar-Bairn in Jarburg, and reloading the area.

20% damage boost. combined with the 15% boost from Jar head piece gives 38% damage boost

You can get this with the new patch. I gave the new NPC Jar-bairn in Jarburg Alexander's Insides and when I reloaded the area he was gone and had left the Companion Jar behind.
- Anonymous
You'll need to give Alexanders insides to jar-bairn to receive this.
- Anonymous
with the new update a/o 16 March. They added a new NPC Jarbairn in Jarburg. Exhaust his dialogue a few times and rest until it will give you an option to give Alexanders' innards. After you reset through the grace, this item will appear where Jarbairn was.

I killed Diallos outside of Raya Lucaria in this playthrough to get his unique helm before Jar Bairn and his questline was added in an update. I was still able to finish Jar Bairn's questline and receive the Jar Companion talisman as a reward after speaking with him between reloading the area a few times and finally giving him Alexander's Innards.

This is likely cut content since pot head already does this.
- Anonymous
Anyone tried to kill or be killed by Alexander wearing the jar given by him? Or use oil jar to pull out a giant jar from the ground?
- Anonymous
As the pot helmet already does what this talisman does, it likely is not obtainable.

Can't wait for Ymfah's Elden Ring consumable only with this bad boy

somewhere there is an emote message with a guy wearing the pot hat dont remember location
Related to Jar-Bairne (99% sure this is the name of Alexander's Nephew as you can cross his NPC ID with the Dialogue files and they match significantly. This was also tested with Alexander's IDs) most likely cut content. The town had some sort of invasion, Diallos is suppose to be there. Flower farming. Diallos finding purpose. A gift amongst friends in the end when you return the innards of Alex -> Companion Jar. Which is probably later content, scrapped, or was moved to an NPC we havent killed yet that just drops it.
To anyone else who can backtrack reward drops from mobs or quests from previous games. Talismans are labeled as Accessories in the Elden Ring files; the Companion Jar is 2210. I am trying to dig for quest reward files/events to see if 2210 is gained from anything or dropped off a mob or found in the world. But I do not know what files these events or interactions would be stored in. If anyone knows how they were stored in previous games, just reply here, I'll keep looking, thanks! (The point is to see if this is cut content or not).
For those wondering, you DO get this when you finish Alexander's questline. However, it is cut-content. In some leaked releases, we could see 'Alexander Nephew' in the credits, and checking the datamines you could see he and Diallos exchanged some dialogue, supposedly in Jarbug. However, on the final version of the game, he's removed from the credits, meaning they probably decided to cut the questline, and forget/didn't care to remove the 'Alexander Innards' item.
- Anonymous
This might just be cut content because if you go to jarbug there's a part on the map that isn't there, and the jar helmet does the same thing this is supposed to.

How do we know this is in the game? Maybe it's a cut content

You get this when you talk to Alexander chilling in the magma at mt.Gelmir. if you have progressed further into his quest into mountaintop of giants then you probably missed it.
I have a feeling this has some connection to Alexander's innards. You complete the quest and get your own pocket pot buddy, idk
Has anyone tried completing all of Alexander's Questline AND Dialos without beating the Liurnia of the Lakes area boss. Somewhere online it said an invasion happens there (probably when you return with his innards) and it isnt triggering because the area boss is dead for everyone. She isn't needed for his questline, right?
- Anonymous
The method to complete Alexander's questline isn't online. You give his innards to his nephew in a hidden jar area that also holds Diallos.

"Given to player after completing Alexander's questline" is inccorect, he doesn't give it by the end of the quest line. No-one currently seems to know how to get it.

Reverted back to ????, as you do not get it at the end of Alexander's questline, unless there's an alternative end to his questline, in whichcase it wasn't enough info.

Can who ever posted this please update the Alexander quest line if it goes past the duel with him?
- Anonymous
So the location says "Given to player after completing Alexander's questline" does this mean you can do something with alexander's innards?
- Anonymous
You don't seem to get it from completing Alexander's Storyline (I got his upgraded talisman)
Could it be that we need a number/all of the cracked/ritual pots to acquire this from an NPC?

"Given to player after completing Alexander's questline"
This is incorrect.
- Anonymous
Definitely doesn't come from Alexander's quest line unless there's a step that's not been recorded yet
- Anonymous
Judging from the description, you get it from Alexander after finding a place for his Innards. Still no clue where that could be.
- Anonymous
This makes me curious to try an Alchemist or Witcher-esque build... Would be neat if there was a similar one for Greases

How do you get it? Does it related to Alexander Innards key item?

Only Fromsoft would make a jar brought to life by the souls of dozens of corpses stuffed inside it the cutest thing in the game.
After Rya.
