Consort's Mask is a Helm in Elden Ring. Consort's Mask is part of the Consort's Set. Consort's Mask protects the player's head by applying various defensive properties, it also changes the appearance as well when it is equipped. Some armor pieces may be available to both genders but may be slightly different for male and female characters.
Mask worn by Tanith, Lady of the Volcano Manor, in the image of a foreign queen.
Increase dexterity.
Long ago, when Rykard first set eyes on Tanith, she was working as a dancer in a foreign land. Soon, he made her his consort.
She was the only human to remain by his side when he became the serpent of blasphemy.
In that moment, Tanith was truly charmed by him.

This looks like the mask of King Baldwin from "Kingdom of Heaven", or maybe the leper from Darkest Dungeon.

I have a little theory about this mask and Marais. Both of their masks look somewhat similar and we know Tanith was a "dancer" in a foreign land, I think that not only maybe these two npc's originate from this same foreign land, but possibly could've known each other. In 17th century Europe women would be forced to wear painful masks if caught gossiping, if both Tanith and (assuming) Marais were dancers, maybe they were forced into this position and was meant more to shame & humiliate them instead of entertainment. I know this is pretty baseless but it's a fun theory I thought of.

Looks fantastic with the Tree Sentinel body, gauntlets, and boots.

"You were working as a dancer in a foreign land, when I found you." but seriously might this explain the castanets?

They really should of put a altered appearance for this helm with 2.2 weight, so that there was a Dex boosting helm to go along with the other 2.2 weight boosting helms. Currently with the existence of the Okina mask and how that gives 3 Dex for the same weight as this helm with only a negligible focus debuff makes this helmet at 3.6 weight completely useless.

"She was the only human to remain by his side when he became the serpent of blasphemy.

I love those lines. Something about the human nature, perhaps?

What cultural dress is this mask based on? I've seen this style of veil beneath the chin coupled with the fillet but I can't remember who.

I would just kill her after defeating rykard, but I’m a little concerned she’s going to be part of the DLC. She’s one of the few last through the game after her quest. So I think it’s probable she’s going to possibly trigger something in the DLC.

those from the Carian family have the tradition to gift swords to their consorts, Ranni gives us the Dark Moon Greatsword, and Rennala is said to have given the Golden Order Greatsword to Radagon, is there any weapon ingame that might be implied to be Rykard's gift sword to Tanith?

Rykard took the song "I'm in love with a stripper" to a whole new level

Name possibly based on Tanit. The Phoenician goddess popular in Carthage. Rykard while having a unique name himself becoming the “serpent of Blasphemy” very well could be representative of Baal-Hammon the Carthaginian equivalent of Baal.
Baal itself meaning lord. This name/title itself being a blasphemy to the Christian God.

So this mask crashes my game whenever I put it on, I dont know why it crashes each time, but i think it looks nice and I want to wear it :(
Spoiler ahead btw
You get it from Rykard's Wife after murdering her after you find her at the Rykard boss arena. I do not know if there is another way to get it, but murder seems to work, so I'll just stick to that
The distant land it refers to in the helm is likely Ranah, same place the Dancer of Ranah is from.
