NANDOR: So deliciously macabre! Creepy Vial...
      GUILLERMO: It's Crepus's Vial, master.

Enemy AI is already hilariously oblivious as it is, plus we already have Assassin's Gambit/Approach is this thing even necessary?

This is my favorite talisman, but I really wish there was a different way to get it. I'm not against the challenge or anything, I just like having a "good guy" route, seeing that confessors are assassins (the tarnished you slay to get this is a confessor as well) who probably wouldn't align with Volcano Manor's beliefs.

this talisman has a bug, where if you wear it and use mimics veil you will not turn invisible, instead it will just look like you are walking slowly inside a box. please fix fromsoft

This is the most underrated talisman in the game. I know its nothing new b/c of slumbering dragoncrest ring blah blah, but elden ring aggro ranges are already short af, and this talisman reduces it to like 0.00001 nanometer. Areas are a complete joke now with this thing on since it works while riding torrent too. Truly makes this game a horse riding simulator with bosses here and there

I figured it would feel weird to be silent, but I really love it. Feels so good.

Actually rolling is so noisy without this on haha

Just tested this with black knife set and assassin’s gambit, seems to be working? When I backstab enemies react to the death but not to me directly which allows me to just back up for half a second and then backstab them as well.

As of the latest patch (that removed Carian retaliation exploit and buffed cast time) Crepus Vial still conflicts with and removes Unseen Body and Assassins Gambit

Probably unintended, but i just noticed this also removes aggro from noise you make on Torrent.
You will still hear the horse noises, but enemies do not.

                      • Dunno about pvp but this thing actually make you horse ninja. You can run behind point blank pve enemies and they wont react. This kinda funny.

                        • Pretty great for exploring dungeons. A shocking amount of monsters are sleeping or otherwise blind and rely on sound to notice you. Many won't even wake up from nearby combat unless you use some super loud abilities (hoarfrost is one for instance).

This thing is pretty great for pve. I've walked right past ambushes with zero aggro. Some enemies are programmed to detect you no matter what, though. It seems most enemies are triggered by sound more than sight (except sniper types).

Crepus's Vial will also remove your footprints in snow, making you more difficult to track for invaders or while invading.

Mimic’s Veil seems to be bugged with this, I do not know if this happens with the black knife chest armor as well but I assume it is. When you use mimic's veil with it you will disguise yourself but your player model is still visible.

Black Knife set pieces describe having the same effect, minus the hood. I'd be curious if there was a way to see if the 'effect' stacked or if it was a simple on/off perception of non-sight cues (sound, motion, etc.).

I've notice that simply jogging around enemies that aren't looking at you with this talisman and/or the Black Knife armor pretty much guarantees they'll never know you're even there. However, if you sprint, the chances of non-sight detection goes up very noticeably, though even then there is a very demonstrable increase of tolerance for your presence, as sprinting (on foot - I've seen no difference on Torrent with stealth items, which makes sense) is one of the biggest things that seems to activate the enemy mobs' collective almonds lol.

Can anyone confirm this messes with npcs tracking you as well and they miss more attacks?

I've been testing this and it seems like it works like the thief ring in demon souls, enemies seem to be missing their attacks more than usual with this equipped when moving around with this equipped. Going to compare with video capture but it'll be a bit as volcano manor is a ways into the game

How does it interact with sneaking? In previous games such ring was THE option to sneak, but I doubt it'd make crouching obsolete here?

I can’t find anything about this quest line. Would you happen to know the NPC name and local to start this? Been wanting this talisman since I found out about it.
                                          Thank you.
