Where to find Crimson Tear Scarab in Elden Ring
The Crimson Tear Scarab Helm can be found at:
- On a rocky ledge at Volcano Manor, Altus Plateau.
- To reach the Crimson Tear Scarab, start from the Temple of Eiglay site of grace.
- Route A: If you have activated the wooden elevator in the tower to the north, ride it to the top. After the elevator reaches the top, exit the room via the doorway to the northeast. Look over the railing to the south; there is a ledge below with a corpse.
- Route B: Take the stone lift south of the Temple of Eiglay grace. Walk out to the balcony, and jump down to a rocky ledge to the east. Follow the path past Burning Slugs up to the top. Head northwest to the nearest tower, where an Abductor Virgin appears. Jump into the open window of the tower. Exit the room through a door to the right. Right before the Man-Serpent wielding a burning sword, look over the railing to the south to see a ledge with a corpse.

I tried the incantation version for a few of my attempts to kill ekzykes, I couldn't see the penalty making much difference to how quickly that thing could kill me with the AoE attack that covers most of Caelid in a fog of scarlet rot. I don't remember how much FP I saved per cast by using it, but I looked like a proper tw*at wearing that scarab with a mix and match set made up from whatever I had in my inventory with the highest rot resistance. Its all very well getting to cast incantations a little cheaper but looking good in the lands between has valueb as well.

Fits with the omen set pretty well and with bull goats talisman you get exactly 100 poise, but the head cancels itself out, so only use it for elden bling or outside of combat

My crimson flask +12 at 60vig heals 1069 HP with both this and the crimson seed equipped. With just the seed, 972 HP. Just the helm, 891. Just the flask on it's own, 810. Even stacked multiplicatively, the most HP this helm can grant per flask is 97. Meanwhile, enemies that killed me in 6 hits now kill me in 5. I have 1900 HP. This thing is actually just directly bad to equip in any way shape or form. There is no way to make it good, ever. However... If you instead use the incantation one, bestial vitality becomes 15% cheaper, and that's 600HP over a minute. 15% of 600HP means you're effectively getting 90 HP worth of FP for free from the other helmet. Difference is, that one also makes every other incantation you cast offensively ALSO 15% cheaper. Thereby, just use the incantation one. It's better in every way. Bestial Vitality is 12 faith requirement and usable by pretty much any build. Just go do that instead or use a normal helmet.

Just noticed that the interactive map has this item under the "Flask Upgrades" category instead of "Armor".

FROM adding this just for "more content" rather than thinking beyond copy pasta throwing stuff at the wall. A joke item that cancels itself out due to the penalty. Just another part of "the set".

I got it just to complete my scarab hat collection, but is this at all worth using?

Seems like a nice thing to toss on when out of combat, along with the talisman, to recover HP or FP. Anyone know the actual percentage?

This seems like an absolutely useless tradeoff to me? Kinda cancels itself out in a way.

The Location is uh pretty non-descript. To find it, Head to the "Temple of Eiglay" Site of Grace. Leave through the door on the North wing and take the elevator up. Walk forward and take the exit to your immediate right. Descending the stairs and slay the lone Man-Serpent with a magma blade. Go to the opposite end of the bridge and look over the southern side, its located on a ledge there.
