This tear isn't as trash as it reads on paper. It can work a on a 60 Vigor Tank Build, Regen build, or for a Near Death build. I think 10% is pretty weak and could be buffed to 15% or 20% but it's not entirely useless. But with so many other choices it's hard to justify the pick. Keep in mind these builds will not be meta level and some will be better at different faces of the game, not just PVP.
For a Near Death build, stacking Red-Feathered / Blue-Feathered Sword Branch/ Twinbird Kite Shield is another version of a Vigor-Gouge build where you pump Vigor to Level 60 so you can be nearly unkillable while near death, it will be stronger early game with a cap of Level 60 so you can proc it more reliably. I find regen to be absolutely busted the lower the level you can manage, especially paired with Crimsonburst tear or Opaline Hardtear, Icon Shield and the Ritual Shield Talisman. For Pure Vitality / Strength build, this tear is really good with a colossal weapon and Assassin's Crimson Dagger Talisman, you will never need healing again. With Morgott's Great Rune active your health bar will practically fill the screen. All of this synergizes really well as you can afford to get hit and restore all your health on a poisebreak as it's percentage based. Add on Prayerful strike ash of war and your healing is absolutely insane. Overall, not a bad tear and takes some set-up but it does have its uses.

Why this doesn't make up the difference in maximum health, I have no idea. Even if that wasn't the case, in PvE this is just worse tha Opaline Hardtear because 15% > 10% in all situations. And even when Opaline is nerfed in PvP to 10% so these are theotretically even with each other, this is still practically worse in almost every imaginable PvP scenario already due to it not making up the difference when used, with the only minor benefit being you can activate the Branchsword Talismans, the Twinbird Kiteshield, and the Crimson Bubbletear earlier with this, but that is an *incredibly* minor benefit, especially when in exchange you technically also lose out on 10% more efficient heals (because increasing the effective benefit of each individual health point makes any healing you have "heal more" health.)

Combine with the Crimson Crystal Tear and you'll not have to worry about healing back to full. Save your flasks.

Huh. I guess I've found the physick I'm going to use on my silly Greathood build. Just goes to show that every bad item in the game has a special use (usually if you're using another bad item).

Twinbird shield, both tearstone rings, F&P +2, crimson amber +2, 80 vig (or 99 for the memes but its really not worth), some big boy armor like bullgoat or lionels. Enjoy being unkillable in the arena

I don’t think you people realize how overpowered blue/red feather branch sword is in pvp. Fully armored tree sentinel cosplay with 99 vigor, 20 str min for Golden Halberd is viable at RL 125. Golden halberd with just 20 str still 3 shots most mages and 8 shots G9 enthusiasts. The 12 fth for GH gives you bestial vitality and all fortification spells. I’ve literally taken 3 giants hunts during the previous cr1 meta and kept fighting. 2596 hp for a duel. For invasions I swap red feather for flask boost talisman. And add Morgotts rune while I solo taunters tongue the main game.

Ideal for the branchsword talismans since it raises the threshold where they're active.

this, morgotts rune, crimson +2, erdtree +2, 80 vigor. yup, its tankin time

So in terms of duels where healing is not allowed, the Crimson Bubbletear effectively increases your hp by 10-29% unless you're killed outright by an attack while this increases your MAX hp by a measly 10% and then you need to heal to fill the buffer. This should probably increase it by 15% and then also fill that buffer so you don't waste a flask.

About the only use I see for this is making the branch sword talismans activate at higher hp, since with 60 vig and the erdtree+2 and crimson amber+2 you have 2134 hp, plus 10% is 2347 so you'll activate the hyper mode talismans at 468 hp rather than 426 hp... oh it would also make the crimson bubble tear heal more too but only about 60 extra hp.

do you guys consider it unfair to use this then drink red estus\(at the start of the pvp duel)?

The Fact that it does not enclose the health for the boost it provides is kind of a detriment (basically a wasted flask). It is already outclasses by many tears and this draw back was completely unnecessary.

This is stupid, it should heal you for 10% HP, instead it leaves you with that little unhealed gap when using it at max HP...

Not bad in late game, as you've probably invested in vigor which will scale much better with a net percentage than a flat increase

This is that one tear, yes that one, the one no one is going to use even at low level. Very underwhelming, even in a game where HP matters so much. The value is simply too low when contrasted to the many other excellent tear options.

You get extra max health but it does not heal it to full when u use it, so youll have that extra health missing until u heal through it. imo it makes this one very underwhelming.

does this stack? if i go NG+ and put 2 of them in my flask do i get 20% hp increase instead???

I have 59 Vigor (2089 HP w/ talismans) + 62 Strength. Is the Crimsonpill (+10% max HP) better than the Strength-Knot (+15 Strength when 2-handing weapon)?
