Apparently I heard that the description straight up implies and you can’t actually cast it repeatedly? Which is a damn shame because that just makes it a worse version of shattering crystal in like every way. It’s not the worst spell to have, but it seems to just get too easily outclassed

To be honest I don't even feel like a damage fix (because let's be honest it's probably bugged) would be enough to make this spell actually good. I feel like what it needs is a buff to the casting mechanics themselves, like how they changed the bubble spells. If you gave it the ability to be cast repeatedly AND charged, it would be good. Then you could actually get some dps with this thing, and in pvp you can use the charge to mix up your opponent

I CONSTANTLY DEAL LESS THAN 20 DAMAGE USUNG THIS IN PVP ugh ugh ugh UGhh if I used 15 fp on a FAITH BUILD, I can one shot people pretty easily. LESSON TO FROMSOFT: when you nerf something, the game becomes worse, while when you reverse a nerfe or buff it dramatically, the game because much, much, much better. When people say there are balance issue, don’t nerfe stuff, instead buff everything else so that everything is perfect.

Looks cool, but the damage and range is abysmal.

I hope it gets buffed, needs the damage or shard count doubled before it can be useful.

            • Anonymous

This could've been cool and useful, like a magic version of bestial sling. But now that I think about it, maybe that would be too much.

                Edit to this spell.
                Swift Crystal Burst.
Swiftly Fires a burst of glintstone crystal shards.
This sorcery can be used without delay after performing another action.

                Now its worth 14 FP.

I like how the enemies that use this can two/one shot you up close with this yet when you use it, it might as well be a Water Gun.

I don't like the idea how the spread gets worse when this thing gets charged up. Really good at point-blank and for stunning some folks at mid-range. My only other issue is the casting time, can't really use this spell practically in PvP.

This spell synergizes really well with Gavel of Haima. If you bait and knock down an enemy with Gavel of Haima, with enough cast speed you can follow up with a charged Crystal Burst and all hits will connect point blank, dealing a huge amount of damage. Both spells also does a lot of stagger damage, so a full on charged Crystal Burst point blank after a Gavel of Haima can potentially stance break an enemy. This combo however only works if you know the enemy you're fighting against can be knocked down by Gavel of Haima to safely cast Crystal Burst afterwards, as well as having really high casting speed to pull it off fast enough.

Judging by the description of this spell, it seems that they wanted to make this the bestial sling 2.0 magic edition but realized how broken that would be and decided to not do it

                        • Anonymous

This spell deals thoroughly unimpressive damage, but deals a good amount of stagger.
Sorcerers legging it straight to Weeping Peninsula will probably enjoy this spell's ability to help take down larger targets unti they get something better.

The description says it can be cast repeatedly, but thats not true. It would be a lot more useful if you could. Then it would be possible to combo it with other spells

                            • Anonymous

sure its good damage at close range but at that point gavel, slicer, adula, piercer would likely be better, maybe if it could be chain cast then itll probably be pretty good

Basically a pepper gun. Not great mid-range, useless for anything outside a colossal sword’s reach, good burst in point blank range.

At 85 INT with +9 Lusat staff I 2-shot the giant outside the Godrick boss fight. Huge damage for such a low fp sorcery but you have to be VERY close to make it worth using and as a glass cannon caster you usually don't want that lol Use it to cheese bigger enemies but i'd suggest avoiding it otherwise. Same goes for PVP, have one-shot several players with this but have been one-shot myself just as often :)

Is it supposed to be guaranteed or just a chance that it drops? Because I keep killing her and she hasn't dropped the spell or the staff.

                                      Quite underwhelming spell.
When charged it deals somewhat more damage than glintstone pebble, lower otherwise. It however requires you to be in close range or you risk that not all shards connect with the enemy thus lowering your damage. And this costs twice as much FP as a single pebble.

It seems it's good for staggering enemies though, but it's a high commitment spell given it's poor range.

                                        Bad range, poor damage.
It might be useful if charged, but you can't charge it while enemies are close enough for the spell to actually hit, or they'll just come up and smack you.

                                        • Anonymous

Weak damage, low range (sawed-off shotgun style). Does significant stagger damage close range vs big enemies , especially if charged. Can hit weakspots like heads on giants, managed to knock down one of them in ~3 good hits, 2 if charged headshots connected. Mediocre outside of surprising CC potential.
