The absorption numbers are the % of your damage that gets blocked. For example if an absorption is 60. 40% of that damage by that type will go through and 60% is absorbed. Bigger number= less damage. An absorption of 100 means no damage goes through, and a resistance of -100 mean the enemy takes 2x damage from that source. 0 means damage goes pretty much as is.

The resistance numbers is the buildup amount to trigger it. For example if a resistance is 100 you must deal 100 points of whatever aux buildup to trigger it. Note that these go down over time, and increase each time the effect procs.

Demi-human Boss Gilika Fight Strategy

The Best Tips for Demi-human Queen Gilika:

Melee Users

This boss can receive a ton of damage with aggressive attacks and has a lot of windows and opportunities to deal damage to make the fight fly by quickly. For a faster defeat, players can choose to use Spirit Summons, however this isn't necessary. She can be staggered very easily and will pause to cover her face, giving you a longer opportunity to deal more hits and keep her from her attack sequences. Along with this, her poise can be broken. Continue with these attacks while dodge or blocking her lunges until she is defeated.

Magic and Ranged Users

Use any heavy physical damage Spell such as Rock Sling to keep her staggered and break her poise. To have an even smoother,  quick encounter, use Spirit summons to double attacks and have almost the the entire fight open to your magic or ranged attack as she focuses on the summon. Continue dealing attacks and moving back to quickly defeat this boss.

Demi-human Queen Gilika Attacks & Counters

She's the only demi-human queen that throws away her staff, right? I think that makes her one of the very few enemies in the game whose moveset only appears once

I've been a bit wary of these demi-human queens. I avoided the one in weeping peninsula like a dose of clap, but I was at that azur wizard's site of grace and killed the nearest Raya Lucaria sorcerer just for fun but Maggie came after me right away, I hit her twice with frenzied burst before she got to me, I hit her with a two handed charged attack and got a chance to critical right off it, and that was it, she was done.

Shockingly easy to kill. Using a +8 Dark Moon Greatsword with 46 INT I killed this boss with two R2 projectiles.

So why is she wearing purple glowing contacts? Ive tried regular purple ones, and I can guarantee they did not make me eleven feet tall and magical.

Wannabe mage. Starts out trying to chant a spell, fails, and just smashes the staff on your face breaking it. Proceeds to flounder around like a feral mutt.

If you leave the hostile npcs alive outside the gate surrounding the ruins and kill the boss, they all turn into cowering monkeys lol. Wonder what the point of that is

Do NOT choose Spawn at Stake if you die in this fight(I got caught off guard trying to figure out where my greatshield summon dudes went. Summoned them, and they just didn't show). I don't know if it's just me, but it doesn't load back in there.

I wonder if this boss is related to the ghost outside of Fort Haight that says "The demi-humans wax wroth, now their mother's been taken..."

Bloodflame worked well. Poise can be broken. Dodge or block lunging attacks. Dodge unblockable smash attack
