What is with this game having badass helmets that have completely stupid looking unnecessary things sticking out of the top of them

      • Anonymous

The only explanation was that this helmet was put into the game by a disgruntled designer who wanted a more robust armor alteration system in the game.
Otherwise, I can only assume this was some sort of cry for help from an overworked concept artist.

i really love how the neck portion of the coif goes with the royal remains chest, it shouldn't work but it does

          • Anonymous

They could've just copy pasted Royal Swordsman helmet from DS2 without even doing any upscaling and it would still be better than this sexually suggestive looking spike.

Y'all saying gnomes aren't badass like you weren't listening to Gael's theme on repeat when Ringed City came out smh

              • Anonymous

Can someone make a mod that won't get me banned that just removes the goddamned horn?
It doesn't even fit, it's like a goddamn dunce cap...

                • Anonymous

That horn is an utter travesty. Like, this could have been my favourite helmet in the game, finally a proper gothic sallet, and then they stuck this ugly piece of nonsense on there and ruined it.
I mean, if they really wanted to keep the dragon theme, they could have put two smaller horns at the sides, that could have worked, but this is infuriating.

WTF were they thinking putting that goofy horn on top of the helmet. The set looks fantastic other than that and even the helmet would look great without that.

                    • Anonymous

It physically pains me that you can't remove the incredibly silly and pathetic looking horn from the otherwise awesome looking sallet. Hoping for mods to fix this.

Fromsoftware makes such dope weapon and armor designs, but in a handful of cases, really drops the ball. The helm is awesome from the foundation; awesome dragonskin chainail, a cool visor, and cool scale like back-brim. But then you get to the top you see some ridiculous gnarled horn curling upwards. What they could have easily accomplished with a similar, yet not as silly design, is put a number of smaller versions of the horns over the top of the helmet that are facing backwards and upwards at a diagonal instead of a singular goofy horn that is almost perpendicular to the front of the helmet. Maybe such a long winded critique probably isn't necessary, but this set is so cool, its very disappointing them fumble it with the headpiece.

                          *open chest*
                          "Oh boy a sallet!"
                          *equip*
                          "...oh it's a chicken hat"

props to the armor designer for mathematically calculating the ugliest possible location for the spike tho

                          • Anonymous

Hi, You don't need to get to the "Beside the Great bridge" grace to get this set. If you go from the Dragon Temple Rooftop grace and go past the two birds, down the ladder, directly to the right is a platform to jump down to the base of the elevator where the chest is.

                            • Anonymous

If only it wasn't straight out of the *BAD* Dragon Catalogue or we could alter the spike off of it instead. Darn

                              • Anonymous

Bastards tricked me with the thumbnail. "Oh boy! Finally, a sallet! The mini plume of red spikes is unorthodox but it looks super awes-aaaaaand its a chicken hat"

                                • Anonymous

I got so amped by the thumbnail and then died inside when I put on the chicken helm. Can't even remove the spike with a tailoring kit, just the rad dragonskin coif

                                  • Anonymous

freaking spike out of the middle of the head takes a 10/10 helm and makes it look like World of Warcraft bargain bin
