Helm Wgt. 6.2

Duelist Helm is a Helm in Elden RingDuelist Helm is part of the Duelist Set Armor Set, and is a three piece set worn by the gladiatorial duelists and grave wardens. Duelist Helm protect the player's head by applying various defensive properties, it also changes the appearance as well when it is equipped. Some armor pieces may be available to both genders but may be slightly different for male and female characters.

Bronze helm decorated with innumerable snakes.
Worn by gladiators who were driven from the colosseum. The wearer becomes a slightly easier target for foes.

The snake is viewed as a traitor to the Erdtree, and the audience delighted in seeing these bronze effigies beaten and battered.

Where to find Duelist Helm in Elden Ring

The Duelist Helm Helm can be found at:

  • The Duelist Set pieces can be dropped as loot from the Duelist enemies located in Leyndell, Royal Capital.
  • The Colosseum on a hill in the southeast area of the city has two Duelists, one patrolling the path and one at the top. Both of these enemies have a chance to drop all three pieces.

Elden Ring Duelist Helm Notes & Tips

  • Sell Value: runes currency elden ring wiki guide 18200
  • Oddly the Duelist enemies who drop the helm are not wearing the snake covered version. They are wearing a more streamlined gladiator helmet.
  • This helm attracts enemy attention similarly to the Shabriri's Woe Talisman. Unclear if the effect is identical or weaker/stronger or if it stacks with the talisman. It also has the same status icon as Shabriri's Woe.
  • Poise Updated to patch 1.07

A couple people said you could also get it from the shadow one in sainted heros grave but I went back to it and he no longer seems to be there. Is that normal?

      • Anonymous

Y'know, this design is actually pretty cool. Besides the metal snakes that decorate the top of it, the way the visor of the helm dips down and connects again at the neck makes it look like the hood of a cobra. Just a weird observation.

Perhaps confirmation bias, but I think this does increase the amount of aggro you "produce." Testing with throwable daggers got Margits' attention in 2-3 daggers instead of 4-5.

Tips and tricks for anyone more than likely going for a tank aggro build:
-Throwables are a must, this will be your main means of grabbing aggro as many enemies bounce and twerk as fast as possible, not only are they easy to procure they also don't cost much.
-Don't bother with iron skin perfume, reduces any and all mobility for a buff you can acquire from Dragoncrest Shields and Pearldrake Talismans as well as armor and shields (use uplifting).
-Your main assistance will be applying buffs, tanking aggro, and applying debuffs- damage is not your main concern.
-Know your enemies and know what shields to use- as well as when/what will drain your stamina too fast to tank(dragons breath is annoying as ****).
-Shields can also be two-handed if you don't have appropriate strength or strong weapons (unlikely but it's there).
          -USE THROWABLES
-Circling around an enemy and throwing **** at them is important to pull combos, try to wait until after allies attack as this really ****s with their aggro and resets it to them usually.
          -USE THROWABLES

          Armor:
-Duelist/Rotten Duelist helm, it's a pain to get but until actually proof comes out I'm going to say it stacks with Shabiri).
-Poise thresholds and resistances are king, I think Commander O'Neils is the meta best poise to weight ratio tho.
-You can equip Deathbed Dress as well to provide a healing Aura, but I don't know the range/heal/if it's worth it.

          Weapons:
-Lances are probably the best weapons for this build, Lances can get B STR scaling base from Heavy application right out the gate. Their poise damage is incredibly strong as well and if you're fighting an enemy that blocking isn't feasible- dual wield the ****ers.
-Commanders Standard- applies an AOE buff og like, 25% damage increase, need I say more?
-You can also get a Golden Vow offhand (i like misericorde for criticals) if you can't get it though.
-Antspur(with poison) can also turtle poke applies the ever present crimson rot/poison.
-Pulley Crossbow is good for a bonus offhand that applies debuffs even better and you can help with bleed and rot feasibly too.

          Shields:
-Brass Shield of course, amazing guard boost and early 100% phys. reduction; you can tank the guardian outside the start elevator with this badboy. Magnifique.
-Gilded Greatshield and Jellyfish are early 100% phys. block shields as well.
-I'm not too sure about Icon shield but you could offset with blessed dew talisman and its passive regen?
          -Fingerprint Shield- your endgame goal

          Spells:
-Not very worth it imo, you can really only apply one which Commanders Standard or Golden Vow offhand do, for far cheaper stat-wise and don't require the high faith requirements normally required.
-Heals; again you could possibly use deathbed dress. Healing in a fight is unfeasible due to poise- hard to locate and sit by an ally, slow, and if you have the time to do this, just use a warming stone- or hell, Holy Ground ash of war which increases defense AND is easier to manage and get into.

          Talismans:
-Shabiris Woe (again until proven otherwise I'm going to state this works in tandem with Duelist helm).
          -Greatshield Talisman
-Dragoncrest Shield Talismans, I use this on every character I love it. I guess you could swap it out for Pearldrake but that's on you.
-Empty Slot- I use Jarsenal and later switch out for whatever, some good choices: Stamina Regen Talisman, Ritual Shield, Bull-Goat, maybe Blessed Dew.

          Ashes of War:
          - Barricade shield isn't amazing from what I've heard but it's acceptable
-Bloodhound step is my other goto for again, dodging things you can't block.

Why does this thing makes you have less iframes? It's the same dumb stuff that the Greathood has with the -5% hp thing, basically you can use fashion souls if you nerf yourself in PvP.
Can't we just have nice things? I love how this helmet looks with all the little snakes and the gladiator lore, but why on earth should I deliberately make myself easier to hit when there are lots of other heavy helms with good defense and no dumb self-inflicted nerfs.

NGL this looks kinda good with Niall's set (full Niall except for the head piece), great look for a STR build imo

              • Anonymous

The streamlined version is so much better, it makes no sense that we can’t alter this to remove the snakes.

As far as I’m aware, this model appears nowhere else in the game, which means the devs made a conscious decision to do more work and add the snakes onto the preexisting model on the Duelist enemies, instead of just letting us use the better looking version.

I don't remember where I got it but I've been wearing this a while with the Radahn set instead of the helm that makes me look like one of those troll toys from the 80s with stupid expressions and multicoloured hair standing on end.
I've only just noticed the shabiri icon but I didn't understand why until the search feature brought me here. I'm not masochistic so I've never worn the shabiri's woe talisman but I haven't noticed any difference in enemies getting agro with me sooner or for longer. The T-rex dogs in didn't agro until I'd got a sneaky charged R2 in first and the roided out red albinaurics have not been any different either, also the arhcer golems lost agro just the same as they always do when their line of sight is broken.
I don't know about the talisman but this helm drawing enemy attention doesn't seem like anything to be concerned about

                  • Anonymous

Would have loved if you could alter this into the version the actual Duelist enemies wear, would be nice to not have a bunch of snakes on my head.

                    • Considering the chest section consists only of the cloak and the snake arm bands, I wish those arms bands were part of a separate gauntlet piece instead. Maybe just some metal ornamentation remains around the shoulder if you alter it to be hoodless.

I just want to pair the arm bands with other chest armors.

Insane how similiar to the Cassis Crista this helmet is, I always appreciate when Fromsoftware does something like this

i really wanted to use this for elden bling reasons, but i understood the item description as "you got less iframes"
sucks that i finished the game 100% before looking it up, it looks really funny

There should be a system that stops the game from giving you the same drops over and over while ignoring others. I got 13 drops and none of them was the helmet, i got like an entire armoury of greaves and cloaks lol.

Farmed all 3 pieces in less than 30 minutes with no discovery or items, maybe I got extremely lucky but drop rate seemed solid. Although did not get any weapons.

Unsure if it is a bug, but I’ve been farming the two at the Capitol Colosseum for 2 hours, using Silver Pickled Fowl Feet each retry and they haven’t dropped anything except the Duelist Greaves one time when I first started farming.

                                  • I don't know if it's guaranteed, but this just dropped for me from the giant shadowy axe-wielding knight at the end of Sainted Hero's Grave, the one you have to make vulnerable and kill to open the boss door. No idea why, we're not even in Leyndell.

Ok seriously get rid of the stupid snakes on the helm, none of the dualists have it on theirs and it makes the helm look like complete trash, who’s the moron who keeps adding stuff to the helms like this…..ughhhhh

I think that thing have a taunt skill, every enemy ignores my phantom and brutally charge me with hatred in his eyes. I dont know how test this "passive skill" in realiable way.

Has anyone been able to confirm if there's a taunt/aggro increase on this helm as the description seems to infer?

There is a colosseum structure down the path from the West Capital Rampart site of grace with respawning Duelists. Both can be farmed for drops.

                                            • Anonymous

It drops from the duelists in the capital. I got the helmet with 11 arcane and silver scarab equipped. They are located closest to the West Capital Rampart grace.Just run south east ish.
