Eclipse Crest Greatshield is a Greatshield in Elden Ring. The Eclipse Crest Greatshield is a Shield that scales primarily with Strength. Greatshields weigh a decent amount and provide the best protection in the game. Greatshields provide a greater value of blocking and protecting one's self from enemy and boss attacks but greatly increases the weight and reduces the player's mobility. This type of shield works best at reducing damage or guarding instead of parrying.

          Personal favorite greatshield. Lighter and requires less strength investment than other high end greatshields (while maintaining a good guard boost) and has passive increases to all status resistances as a bonus.

          Great on any build that can accommodate it.

            Spent 30 minutes farming the one outside Black Knife Catacombs.
            Got 4 of the Knight’s Greatswords, 3 of the Mausoleum Knight Armors, 3 of the Mausoleum Knight Gauntlets, 7 of the Mausoleum Knight Greaves and 1 Eclipse Crest Greatshield.
            Apparently they have a 4% drop chance, same as the sword, but each armor piece has a 3% drop chance.
            I did not use either the silver pickled fowl foot or the silver scarab, and my Discovery was 110. But I find it funny that the rarer drops were much more common than the one item I needed.

              This is a favorite shield of mine. I use it on a Death themed build and one of the gimmicks of the build is making it very hard for enemies to proc status on the build. This shield increases all resistances (except Deathblight) and paired with Dappled Cured Meat, Mottle Necklace +1, and Speckled Hardtear and no one can put statuses on you again. It wouldn't be viable at meta but at Level 45-80, most people in PVP will have a much harder time getting you with rot, bleed and frost. It really makes enemy bleed build less effective, but you still have to watch for password summoned coopers insta bleeding you due to downscaling. Overall it's just a really good shield.

                    Spent nearly an hour farming this and getting sword after sword for ages on my int/str dark themed character. Then on my fth/str goody two shoes it drops first try going into the catacombs.... Classic.

                      Spent 20 minutes at 190 discovery try8ng to get this...Took about 3 attempts at 245 discovery to get 1 from the guy in front of the catacomb. Weirdly, he had a different moveset that he pulled on me and that was the time it dropped from him.

                        I’m so very confused because everything I read online says this should raise my resistances, yet it doesn’t. Everyone says this is the best shield because of the resistances it grants but I keep putting it on and nothing changes, I’m not reading anywhere else that anyone is having this problem and I’m so confused

                          Shield Crash plus an elemental or arkane affinity works well to soften up or outright stagger most enemies in the game for your main offensive weapon to finish with a crit. If the first crash doesn’t drop them, a second usually will. Or just alternating between that and a main weapon is fun too. Halberds like Commander’s or Nightrider’s seem pretty optimal given the range and power.

                            This shield got nerfed with the last patch. It no longer has 100 physical resistance, they nerfed it to 90. Shields in general have been getting nerfed. The talisman that increases guard got nerfed, Barricade got nerfed, im sure it's only a matter of time until the dragon greatshield talisman also get nerfed. Why can't greatshielders have fun?

                                killed teh bastard around 50 times. For shits and giggles I sacrificed myself to Freia against the headless fella, and it dropped the next time. Pro gamer move, can recommend.

                                  As of patch 1.05 @ 20 arcane with a silver foot, I got like 7 of these in half hour of farming. Shame I'm trying to get the armor chest piece... This was all he wanted to drop. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

                                        I thought I already found the perfect shield with the Golden Greatshield, but at the price of a small bit of guardboost this lighter beauty takes the cake with all these nice added resistances. Add a Grave Scythe and all resistance bases are covered.

                                          Is anyone having the same problem I am? When I equipped the shield, it doesn’t give the passive bonuses of boosting immunity, robustness, and focus. I’ve had this shield equipped for a long time before swapping it out for another greatshield (for fashion). However, when I equipped it again, the passive bonuses don’t show up. A big perhaps? Or maybe i did something wrong.

                                            This is the best greatshield in the game in my opinion. Upgrade it to 70 Guard boost, slap Barrier Shield on it for the +30 Guard Boost. Block everything you want for free while it is active. The Resistances are a nice bonus and the Magic Defense is top tier. Grab some HP Regeneration buff and a Spear and you can block and poke almost the whole game to death.

                                            I used 2 Greatswords and this against Malenia and it made Waterfowl Dance a Joke, even in phase 2. The resistance helps a lot to avoid the Scarlet Rot.

                                              Is there any reason why this shield wouldn't be considered the best greatshield in game since it provides max phys resistance, 2nd highest magic block, high-end elemental blocks, and the only shield in game providing 50 to Immunity, Robustness and Focus which is considerably high? The look is not that great, but other than that, I find no reason to use another one. Am I missing something in terms of technical specs?

                                                It's sort of weird that this shield has more magic defense then the Cuckoo Greatshield which was tailored specifically for magic defense; in fact in general this shield could be considered a better version of it, due to the added effects and higher stability. Any downside in comparison are too minor to warrant using the Cuckoo over this, aside from fashion.

                                                  Great stability to weight ratio, and the defensive bonus against status ailments are great. Definitely one of the best general purpose greatshields.

                                                      Only thing to be aware of with this shield is that switching it means all those resist stats need to tick back down in the middle of your screen, a mild annoyance for a half-caster if you off-hand your focus

                                                      Otherwise, it's a pretty cozy spot on the greatshields list for "quality" type weapons. Decent step up in guard boost without extreme strength or equip load of the fingerprint

                                                        Farmed this from the knight guarding the entrance to Black Knife Catacombs - took about 10 tries with no silver scarab or silver foot.

                                                          Incorrect farming advice. With item discovery boosted I looked the knight guarding the cave 50 times, no items of any type dropped at all. Where as the knight by the nameless eternal city dropped a full set with duplicates and no boost active in 50 kills.

                                                                Currently bugged whenever you switch back and forth from shield to seal it displays your added resistances with the shield and I kind of annoying. Other shields do not do this

                                                                  One of the best greatshields to use if you plan on using barricade shield because you'll be able to hit 100 guardboost after a few upgrades along with the +50 buff to your status resistances.

                                                                      As of 3/1/22, currently "bugged" and when you equip it, it gives you a bunch of status buildup on blood loss, poison, scarlet rot, etc. It's not enough to activate the status effects, unless maybe poorly timed, but so many bars fills the screen and blocks targets which can be very annoying.
