Elden Lord Crown is a Helm in Elden Ring. Elden Lord Crown is part of the Elden Lord Set, and is a Light Weight helmet that strikes a good balance between Physical and Magical defense. Elden Lord Crown protect the player's head by applying various defensive properties, it also changes the appearance as well when it is equipped. Some armor pieces may be available to both genders but may be slightly different for male and female characters.
Crown of Godfrey, the first Elden Lord.
The age of the Erdtree began amongst conflict, when Godfrey was lord of the battlefield.
He led the War against the Giants. Faced the Storm Lord, alone. And then, there came a moment. When his last worthy enemy fell. And it was then, as the story is told, that the hue of Lord Godfrey's eyes faded.

Unfortunately, cannot be altered. You need to wear that ugly scalping wig thing instead of just the nice crown. Seriously they just love making ugly headpieces.

Fun fact: of all from software games, elden ring has the only crown with an appropiate size to fit a player's head.

Why did Fromsoft have to scalp Godfrey and Malenia to make their helmets? So weird.

Welp, guess it will be the Aristocrat’s Headband for this Elden Lord. FFS this is ugly :D

I like how 95% of the comments on this page are along the lines of "I wish this could be altered to remove the hair."
It's practically everyone's first thought upon seeing this item, so the fact that FromSoft didn't include the option indicates that it was a deliberate choice, not an oversight. So they're either intentionally being annoying or they're actually that clueless.

I wish this could be altered, i don’t want a wig i want a crown

This and Malenia's Helmet need the option to be altered, at the very least. I'm looking for a crown, not a crown AND a wig.

If I had a penny for every piece of equipment I thought could be altered I probably would have enough money to bribe From to make them able to be altered.

They added the red mane to Ornstein's helm in DS3 after they received a lot of requests for that, so there's hope that in the future we get to after this and other pieces we currently can't.

So after defeating Godfrey you rip his scalp off to get the crown?

Like everyone else I am also dismayed that we can’t alter this helm to leave just the crown but it’s worth pointing out that the wig that’s attached to it isn’t Godfrey’s hair but rather woven out of Serosh’s mane. So it’s not as random as it seems and has a lore basis, although it’s still rather an eyesore.

Why you can't alter this and Malenia's Helm to remove the hair is beyond me. That seems like the most obvious use for the alteration mechanic.
Honestly really weird how this is one of the few helms in the game with cloth physics that can't be altered. Like, was it really so hard to make an alternate version that's just the crown itself? It's just so weird that this helm doesn't have an altered form.

I think it would be really cool if there was an option to alter the helmet at a site of grace to remove the hair, so you can wear just the crown if you’d like

Can we please remove the hair, why would you attach it to a crown? It's like something from Trump's locker.

Is it just me or is the walking animation different when you wear it? Like I see a distinct difference

The only crown in the game and they'd rather put Godfrey's hair on top of it instead of just, y'know, letting you wear it by itself. Unreal.

Looks like we go full savage & scalp Godfrey, only to wear his hair like a ghoul, would prefer this without his barnet in it

This is one of those instances where you really wish FromSoft did more with the armor alteration mechanic. No wonder my boy Boc is always being ignored by the Tarnished.
I can't have the sweet ponytail with tree sentinel armor even if I alter the cape away, sadge

seems like a massive oversight to not have a single plain crown in a fantasy rpg where you become a lord.

Confirmed Godfrey is bald. His lion mane is actually just a wig.

I actually love the hair but it'd be cool to have the option to remove it

Fromsoft: let's use this cool altering mechanic to give olayers the option the remove capes such that their armor becomes more ugly.
Also fromsoft: let's not use that mechanic to remove the ugly white hair from the only crown in the game.

I equipped this and it instacrashed on PC, and would continue to crash on reload. Luckily I had a manual backup from a few hours ago that worked.

Should definitely have given the option to alter this without the hair

The audacity they have to force us to wear his hair but not let us have his beard
