I see a lot of people say that this in pvp with another twinblade that is cold infused is super OP, but I don't think people understand how the math works. Yes, you can proc both frostbite and bleed at the same time, but let me shed some light on why this isn't very viable. Following what the wiki says on both the Hemorrhage page and Frostbite page, bleed deals 485 damage on proc for a 1900 health opponent, whereas frostbite deals 220. If you were to powerstance one of each you would deal 705 damage when they both proc. That is all good, but why not just run two blood infused twinblades instead? You can instantly proc bleed every single jumping attack to deal 485, but if you decide to go with this and a frostbite one you must do 2 jumping attacks to deal 705, meaning you are dealing 265 less damage as you could jump attack twice with 2 bleed infused twinblades for 970 damage instead.

To the mindless goobers who do nothing but spam the aow: I am ALWAYS going to giant hunt or pulley crossbow you. There is so much more to this weapon than l2.

Both RoB and Eleonora's Poleblade seem like they're part of a Land of Reeds bleed blades set. Same investment path, damage and general look. The same DEX/ARC build works for both. I just think they're neat. Screw the meta goblins, I want my blood lightsabers! (but only for PvE)

          • Anonymous

I f*****g love this weapon. Its wa is sweet af and it poise breaks almost everybody. Bleed and fire a la RoB. Pure sexy dangerous.

            • Anonymous

Literally invaded someone who was using this with white mask at level 30 and the thing somehow still bled me in one shot. zzzz hate this

              • Anonymous

isn't particularly relevant to the weapon itself but i think it would be cool if a modder somehow took the weapon and made it a paired katana weapon and gave it a stance type ash of war the only thing I can really think of is the dual wielding banished knight combo and the spin they do as well but instead of frost its bleed (probably wouldn't be balanced at all but still would be cool)

                • Anonymous

This weapon isn't Rivers of Blood! I can't spam L2 to win every PvE encounter, it doesn't proc bleed after 3 hits, and people that never used it say it's bad. So this is the worst weapon in the history of gaming!

Sarcasm. Sorry. There are comments that read much like this already so you may have thought I was serious. The problem with the meta goblins of this forum is that they let numbers dictate their experience. If the numbers aren't high enough, a weapon is deemed "trash" and "unusable". The problem is that these people tend to be PvP focused. So their opinions are mostly colored by anecdotal evidence from duels. I also find that these meta goblins parrot whatever they hear from others of their ilk. They don't actually test things for themselves. They rely on others to to the work for them and then just assume that the person that typed a bunch of numbers must be correct. The reality is that most people haven't even tried the weapons they **** on. This weapon is no exception.

Does it bleed as fast as RoB? No. In fact, you can inflict bleed faster with a non unique twinblade with Blood or Occult enchantment. That's why people say it's bad. Because they think Bleed is the only statis effect in the game worth using. What about the crazy interactions Bloodflame weapons get with frost? You can instantly reset Frostbite to proc it all over again thanks to the fire damage. So you can offhand a cold twinblade of choice and proc both bleed and frost with 1 powerstanced jumping light attack. There's nothing better at doing that. Not even RoB with Cold Uchi which was my previous setup before trying this out. Not only that, Bloodflame Dance does a ton of poise damage. You WILL stagger bosses with this quite frequently. Lastly, once you get used to it, you can use the Ash to evade and counter attacks. It's really not difficult to master.

But even if it wasn't secretly amazing, you get to flip and spin around like Darth Maul. It's fun. Fun is important in games. That's a fact the meta goblins always seem to forget. They get their fun by using the most powerful build possible for their level and skill investment. But some of us just want to take some wacky or badass looking weapon and kill demigods with them in unique and stylish ways. That's fun! Don't let anyone trick you into playing how they play just because they love number crunching. Do what you want. It's your game. If you want to use this weapon, you'll have fun. It's not OP but it's way better than people say. Try it out! Screw the meta goblins.

Would be kind of cool to use this with another twinblade with a cold infusion, though that's not a particularly original idea, I assume, as both Frostbite and Bleed are broken when used right, or Bleed just in general. The only interesting thing about that combo is that it's one of the only real ways to use bleed + Frostbite + fire with only two weapons.

                    • Anonymous

The attribute scaling on this weapon is strange. Despite appearing to have slightly higher scaling with dexterity, it benefits more from arcane investment overall because arcane increases both its physical AND fire damage, while dexterity only increases physical damage. Arcane also improves its bleed build-up. Don't look at the C/D at max upgrade and think this is a dex weapon.

                      • Anonymous

I start off every PvP match holding a RoB to get em scared, then swap out to dual wielding 2 of these to feel like the General Grievus of RoB. I still lose, but it's fun having them run around scared ****less for the first minute or 2.

                        • Anonymous

Fun fact: this weapon's model is literally just the model of the black mortal blade from Sekiro (the one Genichiro uses in the final fight, notice the giant flower guard), but they copy/pasted it and stuck it together at the handle, before making the blade red.

                          • Anonymous

If there's one thing I would change is I would make the weapon art do more blood loss buildup and maybe a slight range extension like bloody slash. At the start the blade literally gets soaked in blood, just like corpse piler and bloody slash, so why it doesn't either have a little more range and/or more blood buildup is beyond me.

                            • Anonymous

Might not be great in PvP but I can't stress enough how good this is in PvE. The AI has absolutely no idea what to do about it and it deals massive poise damage, in addition to building up bleed with every hit. While the damage is split, it's split to fire, which many, many enemies and late-game bosses either don't resist or are weak to.

In my playthrough I had to go through Yura's quest to trigger the invasion from Eleoonora, might be something to check and correct from the wiki

All I can say is that.

                                  1. It is Highly Buffable, Fire Scorpion Charm, Flame Grant Me Strength, Golden Vow, Winged Sword Insignia, Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, Millicent's Prosthesis, Lord of Blood Exultation, and Thorny Cracked Tear.

                                  2. If you Power Stance two of these and it doesn't need to be Eleonora's Poleblade, mod a second Twinblade with blood and you will preform a six hit jump attack!. Each with their own 1 second burn of Blood Flame per hit. So you hit with weapon bleed 6 times, have 6 burn counters per jump attack. You can also use Godskin Swaddling Cloth and Malenia Great Rune for Rapid Healing, Claw Talisman, Raptor Cloak.

Now with the first and second point add together, How do people see this as weaker than RoB? If you power stance two of these almost trivializes anything that takes bleed damage.

I wonder, does the R2 count as consecutive hits for rot wing talisman? I imagine it's affected by Axe Talisman, but is it just the final hit or the whole attack?

Darth Maul cosplay: Elenora Poleblade, preceptor's long gown(altered) or Alberich's Robe(altered), preceptor gloves, preceptor pants. You can also use confessor hood(unaltered) if you want to have him with his hood on, but I presonally feel that it ruins the look. Sliders that matter: Completely black skin with a red #31 tattoo on face flipped upside down (completely right or completely left on the slider) expanded to max size. Make the gaps in the tattoo (that appear when it is flipped) that are near the eyes be on top of the eyes so you can see the eyes. Otherwise just make the eyes orange and the face appear generally mad. I recommend bone structure 6 for this. Happy cosplaying!

Wanted a balanced dex/arcane weapon and I got it. Raw damage being a bit lower than other options is GOOD given the sheer utility of this thing.

Such a cool moveset. Honestly I don't mind that its mediocre, its viable in PVE and its finally a balanced bleed weapon.

This feels like one of those weapons that could've been all about skillful usage: high risk high reward. With its mediocre damage however, it becomes high risk low reward instead

Maybe you don't need to complete the quest line to get this weapon, but you sure do need to start it at least. I couldn't get her to spawn at all because I thought you didn't need to do the quest at all for the weapon. Would be nice if that was specified.

I made a write up on the Coded Sword a couple days ago, as I was looking into how viable how that weapon was. Now I moved towards this weapon as it piqued my interest and it is simply not the greatest twinblade, rather it is the worst by quite a bit of a margin. Let me paint a picture for all of you to help you understand what I mean, along with some testing to show the damage it deals. For my tests, I'm going to use a DS3 damage calculator, which isn't ideal, but will get a general idea of the damage differences between different twinblades. For starters, the hypothetical opponent we will be fighting is a person who is using the following: White Mask, Veteran's Armor/Gauntlets/Greaves, has 132 natural standard resistances and 32% absorption, and has 177 natural fire resistances due to 50 vigor (which might be 60 on more meta builds) and 26% absorption. To start out, our stats when holding Eleonora's will be 37 Dexterity and 60 Arcane to reach the best damage stats, with the rest going to endurance to where the same armor as the setup listed above, along with 50 vigor, just reaching 125. Before defenses are considered, we hit for 585 on the weapon, with 329 being physical and 256 being fire. After defenses are applied, we hit for a paltry 260 damage, along with 81 bleed buildup. Now on an Arcane build, a Godskin Peeler would be better for an overall bleed buildup, so let’s see how that stacks up for reference. For this we will look at the damage in 3 different phases; first for no buff, second for Seppuku active, and third for both White Mask and Lord of Exultation buff added on top. For the first, we have 477 AR which gives us 250 after defenses are applied. Already, the damage is almost identical to Eleonora’s, so this doesn’t look good for Eleonora’s at all. Second, now with the Seppuku buff active we gain 30 AR, placing us at 507 damage, giving us 270 damage after resistances. Lastly, with the blood buffs active, we are at 669, giving us an immense 383 after resistances, while also having 139 bleed buildup, and the Seppuku buff gives at least another 100, giving us at least 239. With this you can bleed somebody in either a running R1 or running R2, as they both hit enough times to instantly bleed someone. If you might be wondering why I didn’t included Lord of Blood’s Exaltation/White Mask benefits for Eleonora’s Poleblade, just know it also will hit for exactly 383, but since it is too inconsistent since you can’t proc it at any moment like Seppuku, it isn’t worth adding as a point in its favor. For the last comparison, we will compare to a Gargoyle’s Twinblade for straight damage. As this is a strength scaling twinblade, we will move to a build that has no Arcane, minimum Dexterity, and 80 Strength. In this scenario, we have 677 AR, and after resistances hit for 389, giving us the twinblade with the most straight up damage, and you can still apply greases after if you so wish. Now some of you might be thinking that the damage isn’t the draw, but the Ash of War is what makes this weapon. When comparing to Rivers of Blood, RoB has a little under 1 second of animation startup, making it difficult to react to in some scenarios, even if you know it is coming. Whereas with Eleonora’s Poleblade, there is at least 1.5 seconds of starup, along with a clearly defined stance, making this weapon very telegraphed. The reason I compare to RoB is because this weapon is the twinblade counterpart to that weapon, so it is only natural. I also tested in game if you can exit out of the weapon art once you are hit by the bleed, and yes you can. This weapon isn’t good, the worst twinblade by far, and needs changes unless something like Rivers of Blood is supposed to be on the same level as this, and in that case it clearly isn’t, even after the bleed stun nerf.

Which stat do you need to invest in to buff the fire damage portion of the weapon? i hope it isnt arcane, because im wanting to keep my arcane at a minimum, even if it is, ill still be using the weapon, im investing minimum arcane and high faith for what im going for. This weapon, even with the bleed, would work great for the build im wanting, im not a massive fan of abusing bleed builds in this game, but the rest of the weapon is so attractive i cant say No :D

                                                                  • Anonymous

                                                                    • Anonymous

i've been using the regular Bloody Twinblades since i got it and Bloody Slash early on. been dumping most of my points into dex and arcane, they are even at around 50 right now. just picked up Eleonora's Poleblade and it's at +6. my Bloody Twinblades +17 is hitting harder overall. enemies that take 4 hits to kill with EP take only 3 hits with BT.

i am so confused by this because the attack power for EP is way higher on the status page. i was able to get it up to 500 between talismans and buffs, while BT was somewhere around 350-380, and BT still hit harder. the only thing higher on BT is blood buildup and attribute scaling.

                                                                      • Anonymous

One one hand, it is a monster with a Weapon Art that staggers every normal and usually also elite mob into oblivion while at the same time bleeding and poise breaking them. The WA has an insane amount of style points and the weapon design as a whole is just 100% sex!

On the other hand, the WA has weirdly wonky tracking and if you face an enemy that can not be staggered, like most bosses or some elite mobs, namely big boy crows and ghostly knights etc, you will either knock off of them like on some invisible wall, which puts a really akward distance between yourself and the enemy where only like 50% of the WAs hits will connect OR they will just counter attack and stagger you into oblivion.

The R1 moveset is nice and fast but lackluster against enemies and bosses that are fast or jump around like crazy. The R2 has stlyle, is strong but takes ages to come off, has low or rather really late hyper armor and the stagger only applies with the last hit of the R2.
This weapon is all about the Bloodblade Dance and bleed. Sadly the bleed is inferior compared to other Twinblades with bleed infusion or simple Katanas using Bloodflame Blade.

Eleonoras Poleblade is by far my most played weapon and I keep coming back to it, yet it is a two edged sword (hehe). Great for clearing out Open World content and smaller areas but lackluster against big boys. One moment I love it, the next moment I wanna cry. But I keep coming back so... yeah I guess I love it.

                                                                        • Anonymous

DAMN i had no idea this weapon existed. just beat the game with twinned knight swords and godskin peeler damn

                                                                          • Anonymous

Pretty broken weapon in PvP if you powerstance with Seppuku'd Godskin Peeler. Bleeds in a single L1, similar to the dual Cross-Naginata, only the range is far worse on this. It's a lot more fun, though.

                                                                            • Anonymous

I feel like this is the most underwhelming twinblade in the game. Like Rivers of Blood, the primary use of this weapon is the weapon art, and just like RoB, other damage it deals isn't anything crazy. Where it deviates from Rivers of Blood is that the weapon art isn't nearly as threatening. Where RoB can punish one mistake from your opponent and will guarantee a win (as boring as it is), this weapon it too inconsistent with landing the weapon art, along with the damage it deals. Lastly with the comparison with RoB, once you are hit by Rob's weapon art, you are most likely stunlocked to death as the bleed proc will yield the stagger, yet even if you do land the bleed proc on this weapon, it isn't fast enough to combo into itself. Now, with the rest of the twinblades, while they don't have particularly anything crazy for weapon arts, even if they are ashable, do considerably more damage. Yet at the same time, something like Godskin Peeler is just a straight up better bleed tool, as running Seppuku on it will one shot bleed people with either running attack. Eleonora's certainly can't do that. This twinblade reeks of overrated, and I think it needs a buff to keep up with the others.

                                                                              • Anonymous

This weapon chunks bosses if you apply the boosts to it. Blood talisman, Fire Talisman, Milicents Prosthesis, Flame Physik, Alexander Shard, Golden Vow, and Flame Grant me strength gives this weapon a 100% damage boost and it melts bosses.

                                                                                • Anonymous

I was messing around with Rennala trying different distributions on my +10 eleonora's poleblade and the damage output was higher, not even accounting for blood buildup, with 30/60 dex/arcane than it was with 60/30, suggesting that the C/D scaling is just wrong.

                                                                                  • Anonymous

The scaling on this is a bit weird, the dex scaling gets higher than the arcane scaling, with higher weapon upgrade levels. But putting points into dex only raises the physical attack, no the fire one. On the other hand arcane raises both the physical damage, the fire damage and the rate of blood buildup.

So if you level up and wonder why dex gives less overall attack on this weapon, that's the reason why.

                                                                                    • Anonymous

There seems to be a soft cap on the bloodloss buildup as you get higher in arcane. Currently, I’m at 50 arcane, +9 EPB and my bloodloss buildup is 77. It hasn’t seemed to change for the last 4-5 levels up in Arcane. Not sure how it works

                                                                                      • Anonymous

You can also hold r2 twice to deal a second heavy combo, very nice, can't wait for dual wielding it in Ng+

                                                                                        • Anonymous

I have won so many PVP sessions with this. Against DEX mains one use of the Weapon Arts it'll staggers them til blood loss then its a win basically, would one shot in most cases. Tanks/Heavies are the most enjoyable to go up against since they are actually fun to PVP with.

                                                                                          • Anonymous

                                                                                            • Anonymous

                                                                                              • Anonymous

It too me awhile to beat the darn NPC Invader on my low level (trying a twinblade run and thought this weapon will be the best) but now that I have it, I feel like I am using a trophy I have earned instead of a random comet spell you just pick up.

                                                                                                • Anonymous

Cool weapon, very fun to use but its a huge hindrance on many bosses, wish they would make the weapon art a bit shorter/quicker so you could use the iframe more strategic or give it similar moveset to godskin peeler for running, jumping R1/R2

                                                                                                  • Anonymous

When I heard there was a naginata in the game I was goping for something with a moveset similar to the guardian swordspear.

Slightly disappointed to find it's a twinblade not a true naginata but it's a pretty cool weapon regardless.

                                                                                                    • Anonymous

S tier weapon. the weapon art does massive posture damage. i use two of those in powerstance mode and i melt godfrey's hp bar with 80 arcane at SL 125

                                                                                                      • At +10 it causes 83 blood loss build up, not 55. On +9 it causes 81. Just like rivers the blood loss build up rises with upgrade level. This on +10 has actually better blood loss build up then rivers and is much faster, altough it doesnt scale as well as rivers. Still a very solid weapon, i went through the entirety of ng+3 with this no problem. It imo plays much smoother then rivers and is a lot easier to get used to, plus you actually move during the weapon art, even doing a little dodge at its end, while with rivers if you wanna do full WA it takes long and you are stationary.

                                                                                                        • Anonymous

For people complaining about the damage of this weapon. If you are only using light attacks then the weapon is not great. Where the weapon really shines is its ability to stagger and cause bleed. In my experience, the best way to use this weapon is as follows. Use something in your off hand that will build up the enemies stagger bar. Preferably something with range (Stone of Gurranq works well). Reason for range is that you want to continue building the stagger bar of the enemy when they are distanced. Once the enemy closes in for a combo, dodge through the combo then use the special attack. This special attack will most likely stagger the enemy and leave it open for a critical attack, if the enemies stagger bar didn't break at the end of the combo use the second half of the bloodblade dance, thus distancing yourself from the enemy. This last half of bloodblade dance will almost definitely stagger the enemy leaving it open for a critical attack. Once you initiate the critical attack its bleed bar will break. This is where the damage comes from is the blood blade dance which builds up enemies stagger bar very rapidly as well as their bleed bar. Also note that jumping attacks with this weapon are ideal for light attacks.

                                                                                                          • Anonymous

                                                                                                            • The most fun weapon in the game. You are now a Jedi Knight. It is a twinblade with great looks and does both physical+fire damage and also causes bleed. Combine with white mask, blood exultation, winged insignia + fire scorpion talisman and you will be rocking high damage in very little time. Many enemies are weak to fire with multiple hits you will either bleed them or burn them. Before big fights doing flame, grant me strength (15 faith) incantation will further increase your physical and fire attack power. The L2 special attack is a crazy move that always causes bleed with a jump and flurry of attacks, a second L2 will cause further attacks and shift you back from harm. A special weapon.
