Where to find Erdtree's Favor in Elden Ring

  • Base talisman:  Fringefolk Hero's Grave: To get there, use two Stonesword Keys on the double Imp Keystone next to the Stranded Graveyard Site of Grace. This will lead to a mini-dungeon with traps. Head down until you see the path narrow on both sides and drop drown at the edge to get access to the secret area. Proceed past the imps and a fire trap to find the item resting at an altar. Two Grafted Scions wait hanging above, so be sure to avoid them when they land and grab it really quickly. [Map link]
  • +1 Variant: Subterranean Shunning-Grounds: Can be found in a chest, in the boss room after the boss fight with Mohg, the Omen. [Map linkYou do not have to defeat Mohg to loot the chest. You can acquire this mid-fight.Video Location
  • +2 Variant: Leyndell, Ashen Capital: Found on top of a branch jutting out of the ground in a large courtyard, guarded by three Lesser Ulcerated Tree Spirits. Fast travel to the Forbidden Lands Site of Grace, and take the elevator back up to the city. Exit the west door, then fight past a knight and few soldiers, and continue down the stairs, then take the large wooden elevator down. You will arrive at a landing overlooking the courtyard, where the beasts and this talisman is located. You can avoid the beasts by hugging the left wall. [Map link] Video Location

Don't fall for this noob trap, this talisman is crap even at endgame with max stats, it is not worth the slot, trust me.

      • Anonymous

I think theres a bug that causes the +2 version of the talisman to lower your AR by a significant amount, going from 712 down to 648

        • Anonymous

I wonder if there's a meaning behind +1 version being guarded by Mohg Jr. Maybe Marika gave it to omen twins, or maybe it's stolen. Probably not, but hey, it's always interesting to make theories.

Pretty niche information but here you go, with 99 endurance and the erdtree's favor +2, you can equip the scaled armor, scaled greaves, veteran's gauntlets, (no helmet), a zweihander, and the bull-goat's talisman to achieve 81 poise with a light roll. This leaves you with exactly 2.0 weight for your other talisman choices. I recommend the spear talisman and of course the furled finger's trick-mirror, for fashion.

Does this stack with talismans that increase HP, FP, and equip load? Like does it stack with the amber medallions that increase HP/FP; does it stack with the arsenal talisman?

Easiest cheese provided you have Moghwyn's Spear... Summon Tiche, get behind a pillar and spam them both 1.10

                • Anonymous

Should have been a 10% increase for all 3 stats. It's an endgame talisman that they, naively, expect you to fight 3 terrible minibosses for.

Also what's with from handing out plus 1 and 2 variants of talismans in the base game cycle? Literally no incentive to go into NG+ except for the endings. And only 2 endings are even worth doing in the first place since the other 4 a just slight recolors

                  • Anonymous

Am I correct in assuming a +5 stat talisman is better then this for low and meta levels? The values are so low it seems like erdtree's favor is only good if you've met the softcaps for vigor and endurance, but want more.

3 tree spirits for a mid charm, and i thought i've seen everything with malenia's great rune or the eclipse shotel being garbage for a legendary weapon

                      • Anonymous

Frankly overrated; the health increase doesn't let you reach 2000 hp on 60 vigor (1900 hp) like all the crimson medallions do, the stamina increase is literally worse than the basic viridian medallion even on +2, and the equip load increase mostly just pays for the increased weight of the talisman compared to said medallions and the arsenal talismans. l would only sincerely suggest this if you REALLY need to increase both health & stamina and you're *REALLY* strapped for talisman slots.

                        • Anonymous

The tree spirits can hit each other, so if you're fighting multiple at once then just focus on dodging and let them kill each other

                          • Anonymous

Quick Tip for Build Planners: Say your level is 100. Make note of your HP. Swap this talisman for Crimson Amber+2. Then raise your Endurance to get a fast roll. Then lower your Vigor until your level 100 again. Chances are you will have more HP with Crimson Amber+2 then Erdtree Favor+2. This is because Crimson Amber+2 is worth more HP levels than Erdtree's HP and End levels in most cases. (End works into equip load)

                            • It's essentially 50% of a Crimson Amber +2, 66% of a Viridian Amber +2, and 42% of a Great Jar's Arsenal, and it stacks multiplicatively with all 3 of those talismans. This is a pretty good general talisman that basically any build can utilize, because every build wants more maximum health, more maximum stamina, and more maximum weight, you just need to optimize for it.

Before you can grab the +2 version, there are ulcerated tree things that spawn out of the floor near you as you approach the log. I just did this for the first time and I killed 3, each time i would run out to force one to spawn, run back up to the stairs, poison/rot the thing, it dies then i spawn the next. I was informed there are 3, but after i killed the 3rd a 4th spawned just to the left of the log where the talisman is. My first attempt i had 2 spawn by the log and they spammed massive area attacks through the log to the point you physically can't roll past their bodies clipping through the log and each other and ultimately breaking my stance in my full greatshield oriented build. I guess some people get very lucky, or they have experiences/videos of an earlier version of the game. I always see videos of people running by enemies; in my game not a single enemy passively lets you approach, so if you're like me and get body blocked and aoe spammed, just use the serpents bow + mighty shot with poison arrows, then any other bow with mighty shot + rot arrows. I'm not even going to use the stupid talisman, i just had to kill those things to verify their runes dropped (20k with talisman) and zero items from the 3 i killed (with item find talisman) and didn't bother to kill the 4th.

At 99 VIG and 99 END, the +2 Erdtree's Favor will give you: 84 HP, 17 Stamina, and 12.8 equip load. At the same stats, the +2 crimson amber medalion will give you 168 HP, the +2 Viridian will give you 25.5 Stamina and the Great Jar's Arsenal will give you 30.4. Radahn's Great Rune will give you 315 HP and 25.5 Stamina, while Morgott's great rune will give you 525, without any other buffs to HP since it multiplies your total HP after all other buffs (according to this wiki, anyway). If you REALLY need a buff to HP, Stam and Equip load all at once, you're honestly better off using Radahn's great rune and any of the arsenal charms (even the +0 arsenal gives you nearly double the boost). That will get you a much more substantial benefit while still only using one talisman slot. If you don't want to rely on Great Runes, try the Crimsonspill and Greenspill tears in your physick. While not as strong as Radahn's great rune and only lasting 3 minutes, they'll still give you a bigger benefit than +2 Erdtree's favor. I get why they wouldn't want to give a huge boost to 3 stats at once with one single talisman but the buffs it gives are so inconsequential you're better off finding other sources for those increases.

They could have at least made the worms near the +2 drop gold seeds to top off any players that didnt have max flasks already

Only took me 2 tries to get the +2, but the Ulcerated Tree Spirit from Fringefolk Hero's Grave really schooled me when I was new to the game.

People complaining about getting the +2 for a trophy when they did the BB chalice dungeons for a trophy with zero in game benefit LOL

Gives me some HP, gives me a good amount of stamina, and is the only reason I can light roll with my build. 10/10 talisman again.

Assassin's gambit helped getting past those damned Worms, just use that and run like hell while sticking close to the right wall

Tried going the wall-hugging method with all I had, but guess what, skill issue...so here's what I did:

                                              1) Lured the "lonely" tree spirit towards the stairs and used the high ground to force it into missing while exposing its head. Swapped between a Keen Nagakiba for closer attacks and Black Knife to aggro it back whenever the AI decided to back off;

                                              2) After killing the first one, I hugged the wall on the left and walked until I managed to see the shiny thing on top of a stone;

                                              3) Once I was ready, I
equipped a weapon that had Bloodhound Step and started running towards the talisman. By the time one of the hidden fools showed itself, I was close enough, to I just climbed up, grabbed the talisman and ran for my life, alternating between regular running and Bloodhound Step as often as I could.

Mission accomplished and see you never, Tree Spirits from Leyndell.

For all of you using this thing with great stars to become a train, here's a few things to keep in mind:
This procs successive attack buffs, like winged sword and Millicent's prothesis, but also the Godskin swaddling cloth. Even more health, my friends!
This works well with the ritual shield talisman because healing back to full health is not difficult as long as you have good poise. That extra resistance makes you tank even harder.
For fast targets, try manual aiming. Lock on can do turns that end up missing, so taking the wheel can help.

Enjoy, my fellow Tarnished! And most importantly remember: Saying Choo Choo makes this deal 20% more damage

The run up the fight the tree spirits for the +2 one sucks. It's a pair of real slow elevators. Board af.

Ah, I see Fromsoft has continued the trend of making this thing worse and worse each game. It went from 20% increase to everything in ds1 to a 6%/11.5%/8% in ds3, and now it's even lower.

My how the mighty have fallen.

Really only useful if you need to squeeze a little extra Equip load, so might as well get some free HP and Stamina as well.

                                                      • Anonymous

For those that wondering why are there people complaining about this talisman when it boosts your Stamina, Health and Equip load:
Stamina..... you don't use it for that...
Health, on even on 60 vigor it will give around 50 hp...
Equip load, until reaching 30 (or even higher) and beyond endurance, literally 1 level in endurance gives more equipment load...
To put it simply if you want to hang around meta level brackets this thing is absolutely useless as any regular stat boosting talisman can easily replace it (you just put 5 levels less into stat you equipped talisman for an put them elsewhere, most likely vigor or endurance.) And if you don't care about that even on max stats this thing gives 100 hp, while at that point your endurance is probably so high you are just wasting talisman slot...

                                                        • Anonymous

"This is absolute garbage, because it doesn't fit my build."
I guess some people don't need HEALTH, STAMINA AND ENDURANCE.

You can get the three tree spirits around the +2 version to clip each other to death with some reliability, and it makes for a fairly fun way to farm souls.

I've never died to a burial watchdog in any of the catacombs but the watchdog in giant's mountain top catacombs but the first one you come to in giant conquering hero's grave has me at 5-1 so far, it's a real c**t.

When you think about how many bosses have been recycled for multiple dungeons then these lesser non boss versions suggests From Soft was in over their heads with a game this big and complex.

                                                                  • Anonymous

                                                                    • Anonymous

I can see a sometimes recurring theme in this game, skip or cheese or enjoy suffering.

+4% health, so now when a boss kills you in two hits, they overkill you just a little bit less. The only reason to use this is if you want a stam and equip load boost in a single slot, and even then it's probably better to just pick either of the talismans that do each of those vastly better

                                                                              • Anonymous

for my efforts i get 10 hp, 1.6 weight and 3 stamina...

                                                                                • Anonymous

The +2 version gives 4% more HP. At 60 Vigor you sit at 1900 HP. 1900 X 4% is 76. You read that right. At 1900 HP with a +2 Talisman you only get a measly 76 HP. This talisman is damn near useless.

                                                                                  • Anonymous

Pro tip for +2 talisman. After you exit the wooden elevator, don't jump over the railing on the left. Just don't.

                                                                                    • "Radagon's Soreseal is so much better." I think you're missing the point. Rad's is a godsend at low levels where 5 vigor greatly offsets the 15% less defenses (except heals effectively have to do more work but whatever), 5 endurance helps you wear much better armor and carry more weapons, while the str/dex lets you use them. However, as 5 vigor goes from almost a third increase of health to just a small boost, the 15% damage starts looking a lot worse. Meanwhile you could be at 99 vigor and endurance with the erdtree's favor and STILL get increased health and stamina.

                                                                                      • This increases all of the same stats as Radagon's Scarseal (and therefore Soreseal, as well), or it would if it increased the base stats. But it doesn't, and just affects the final stats. There may be a point at which you get more benefit from this than the Scarseal, but it is not at low levels.

                                                                                        • Anonymous

                                                                                          Erdtree's favor +2 gives you 1975.

If you just need a little more equip load I feel like the trade is worth it, assuming you don't have enough space to use both.

                                                                                          • Anonymous

In DS3 it was amazing. Why? Because endurance and vitality (equip load) were two different stat. So you would get benefit from 3 stats. Vigor, vitality and endurance.
In elden ring this only boost Two stats vigor and endurance, yes its weight and stamina but they are the same damn stat. So technically you are getting some points in vigor and endurance. Mathematically the stat boosting is on the lower side. Of course still an amazing ring but dont let the three boost percentage blind you.

                                                                                            • Anonymous

                                                                                              • Anonymous

For the +2 I hugged the right wall with Crepus' Vial and Concealing Veil equipped, just crouched and slowly made my way over. Got it without any noticing me. Definitely worth having a bloodhound's step weapon equipped in case things don't go as planned though.

                                                                                                • I'm of two minds about this talisman. One one hand it's worth just under 50% of the top tiers of the other respective buff items for health and equip, and about 60% stamina talisman. So it's about say 55% more effective for the slot in terms of overall gains, mainly to stamina. You lose out on equip load compared to jar arsenal and its 50% of crimson talisman's buff.

At around 50 Vigour you're looking at about 70 or so health buff from the 2+ erdtree, equivalent to the next 3 or so levels in Vigour if starting at lvl 50.

In comparison the stamina buff of 9.6% will grant you approximately 15 or so points of stamina at level 50 (which is REALLY good as you don't see much improvement past that point). The equip load is worth a little under 6 endurance levels at level 50 for further end levels, and a much higher value for stamina (equivalent to the difference between lvl 50 and 80 endurance).

But the Great Jar is worth 19% equip load. So discounting the stamina which at just under 15 points doesn't feel like a lot to me provided I can manage my stamina properly, the Jar is actually worth more per level than this item, being worth approximately 13 endurance levels at lvl 50 endurance, about 4 levels of difference in value at mid/endgame as compared to the 2+ erdtree talisman which gets 3 vigour and 6 endurance levels worth.

At even spread on the Erdtree 2+ at lvl 50 in each you get the equivalent of 53 vigour, and lvl 55 or so Endurance. Put another way, you can get the same health buff from 3 more levels of vigour after lvl 50 with the erdtree talisman and 5 levels worth of endurance equip load, plus 15 stamina.

If you have the levels for 50 Vigour and Endurance and you rearrange them however... you're getting the same health (lvl 53 vigour), and equivalent to lvl 60 equip load by spreading to lvl 53 vigour, 47 end with the jar arsenal equipped instead of the 2+ erdtree talisman. The 15 stamina difference here is effectively equivalent to 5 or so endurance levels.

So the question is, is the 15 stamina worth the loss of 5 levels of equip load? or around 7.5 equip load. For me, I feel the equip load is more valuable as you can distribute those theoretical 5 extra levels elsewhere as you otherwise need them. If you distributed them into Vigour for example, it puts you at lvl 58 Vigour and gives 99 more health.

I haven't ran numbers for lvl 60 in each, but considering endurance gains drop 33% to 1.0 and Health drops by 66% to 6 past that point, you'll see the curve going the other way. Until you do get those extra 20 levels though the Jar arsenal is far superior in terms of gains.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
