AnonymousDue to not having a lot of metal pieces, it meshes very well with slightly off colour golden gauntlets and greaves, something most golden chest pieces struggle with greatly. Amazing chest if you want flexibility in matching yellow-gold gear pieces, and looks very comfy and pleasant to look at from behind, too.

Altus Highway Junction seems to be the best farming spot for this.
Theres 2 of them walking by like 20 feet from the Site of Grace and you can kill them with 1 spell and it's like a 8 second run. Got the armor after a few minutes

I've killed at least a hundred of these soldiers and used up some 18 silver pickled feet for increased item drops, and I've still not gotten a single drop of this chestpiece. I've gotten every other piece of the set multiple times, and I've also gotten multiple of the knight's version of the chest from chance encounters along the way. RIP droprates.

the guard armours can drop from any guard, not one in particular, they're just stingy with the drop rates

This surcoat looks so classy, especially without helmet and with slightly larger upper body. Additionally, the wet shine during rain looks beautiful, almost like it's made of golden chain mesh rather than cloth. Banished Knight Halberd 2h and bullgoats greaves complete the look.
If you wear tree sentinel or leyndell knight chest, try this for a while instead and see for yourself.
