Estoc is a Thrusting Sword in Elden Ring. The Estoc scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity is a good Weapon for dealing melee piercing damage and slashing attacks.

Large piercing sword with a long, hard bladed edge which is also capable of slashing attacks.

For its large size, it can be wielded rather nimbly, leaving little opportunity for the enemy to counter.

  So, Elden Ring has a special "Heavy Thrusting Sword" weapon type yet Estoc is not one. And it scales best from DEX.
  Really, what the hell? In real life Estoc was a type of two-handed sword.

  I felt nostalgic for my old friend the Balder Side Sword so I farmed up two Cleanrot Knight Swords. I used them for about half a dungeon before I could stand how terrible they looked with my armor. Ended up just paying to upgrade two Estoc's instead because sometimes style > substance.

  Ironic that the only thrusting sword that calls out its "long, hard bladed edge which is also capable of slashing attacks" calls itself an estoc, a type of sword known for having little to no capacity for cutting. Yes, I'm gatekeeping swords.

  For those looking for a faith dexterity build you can use two of these and slap one with a flame art infusion and the other with a cold infusion, ash of war chilling mist is best here because it can prock frostbite without having to damage the enemy to much. You can use any ash of war you want for the flame art I chose flaming strike because it buffs the weapon similar to chilling mist. So the main damage comes from procking frostbite over and over. Which while we're at it having a cold/magic and flame weapons we can use fire and magic scorpian charm to boost damage with greatshield talisman (to negate the damage debuff) and milliscents prosthesis for extra damage and the extra dexterity. Then for armor you'll want to use any medium to heavy armor with good damage resistance. Spells, I mainly used golden vow and flame grant me strength, but you can use more offensive spells if you like because of the high dexterity in this build

  This is so nasty in Pvp as of 1.07. Running 2H deals so much poise damage and comes out so fast. Currently one of the best weapons for pvp

  I finished the game 5 times now and never used this one (but the greater ones), but it is so much fun dual wield them! Fast attacks, status effects procc fast and nice moveset. I love this!

  Using this weapon as a side weapon for my Faith lightning build. Its scaling is kind of bad though. Not sure what alternative I could use but it is a good delivery device for Storm Stomp.

  The 2h R2 are incredibly fast my god. Haven't tested this in pvp, but every enemy that got stagged by the R2 always got hit by an R2 feint follow up (it's faster than R2->R1 and puts you in a safe position)

  If you're looking for an offstoc, keep in mind that this doesn't scale well with strength and the cleanrot knight's sword is better for str builds.

  The Estoc is also very very good for a off-tank/bruiser set up. You only really need Rotten Winged Sword Insignia while Powerstanced to make this weapon shine. I use Dragon greatshield, Erdtree+2, Pearldrake +2 and Rotten Winged Sword Insignia and because the weapon is buffable, on top the standard FGMS and GV, it absolutely melts everything.

  Powerstance +25 Estocs, run your left side one as cold with either bloodhound step for the utility or spinning weapon for frost procs, and your right side one as whatever your scaling (I use quality) with something like flame of the Redmanes or flaming strike to reset the frost proc cooldown.
  
  Use a seal as your secondary weapon in your left hand, Use the incantations: Golden Vow, Flame give me strength, Electrify Armament and Blessings boon
  
  Set your flask to cracked flame and stonebarb
  
  Run in and either get a jumping L1 and a follow up when you land, or a running L1 followed up, flame of the Redmanes twice then unload full string L1 combos when the enemy is poise broken.
  
  Range is great, B/B on quality, 120 frost buildup, on par with the better of straight swords with swing speed, fully buffable. The only negatives are you won’t want to use anything else

  There are a select few weapons in the Souls series that are aways decent picks, no matter what balance changes happen to the game. Estoc seems to be one of those weapons. Great moveset, negligible requirements, can easily get it early in the game and its fits in literally any build.

  This is what every straight sword DREAMS being about. Great reach, thrust R1s but slashing r2, a good amount of AoWs and perhaps the best dual wielding moveset in the game. Simply incredibe, its the Claymore of its class.

  I could be wrong, but it looks like this weapon along with Noble's Estoc (both share the same moves)
  R2 has flaws.
  This being two transverse slashes, it only hits one. The first slash is not detected and only the second slash hits.

  Noble is a bit longer but less AR just like the SS, Clearot is shorter but higher AR on all build except on DEX. Overall very good weapon that you should try in either PvP or PvE.

  Surely it’s because I’m a know nothing player, but it seems my dual bleed estocs absolutely shred anything fleshy. A sing power stance jump attack usually insta bleeds and kills anything with flesh.
  
  Being preeminently lazy I like low maintenance dps. So for powering through content these serve me pretty well. It’s also super light allowing for good armor, and other utility such as bows and magic.
  
  I’m sure there’s better ways to play but Ive been finding it super fun for midgame.

  On foot the moveset is solid, but on horse it's terrible. It's actually stabbing slightly behind you, making it difficult to actually hit something.

  Dont know if its explained, but the thrusting swords and curve swords have a cancel on their charge attack, if you charge and wish to cancel press your dash to quickly backstop, it can be followed up with a quick attack to do a lunging thrust

  Super solid weapon, much like using straightswords and broadswords in previous game. You can absolutely finish 100% of the game with a single estoc using any combination of weapon arts, spells, incantations, consumables, and shields (which should never be overlooked because they are capable of damage with their weapon arts scaling on upgrades!). The basic estoc upgrades perfectly with any build that isn't just strength, and low dex builds can still make great use out of cold/poison/bleed infusions. It's also just good for non-element/status infusions if you like to use weapon grease and weapon-buffing spells. Moveset is varied enough to be fun (opinion), weapon is long and fast thrusting, and can trade hits with a lot of weapons in PvP because of its speed and distance. Early game, it can actually hit dogs and rats, which a lot of weapons weirdly struggle with.

  Between Rogier's and Bestoc I would prefer both, while Estoc is familiar and has a great aoe r2, boss encounters with Rogier double-trouble r2 with frost or bleed are still easier

  A fine weapon with nice range and good charge-speed with a few extra tools. For example, a light attack during a backjump will follow-up with a forward hopping lunge, and backstepping during a charged-R2 will cause you to cancel it with a back-hop swipe. Alas, my issue with the Estoc is the charged R2. I greatly prefer the double lunge-poke of the Rapier compared to the sideways version of the Estoc, but that's a minor preference.

Highly recommend for arcane builds as well as dex builds with keen infusion. Keen will start to outperform standard at around 40 dex if you have minimal strength leveled (I had 18 on my character). It ain't fancy but it's a workhorse of a weapon. Bestoc forever!

  So I just wanted to post some Estoc combos I have worked out for this weapon so far which can also apply to any thrusting sword. First Build: This build is really more for Quality Build users since you will need STR/DEX to run it effectively. The Estoc plus any great shield of your choice using the Barricade Shield ash of war is absolutely broken in boss fights and in most overworld encounters. I trivialized a few late game bosses by hugging my greatshield shield, taking ZERO stamina hits, and spamming R1 at a faster rate then in DS3. I also know that people are currently abusing this setup in pvp so I guess the Estoc turtle poke meta did not only survive but it is THRIVING. Second Build: Another decent setup for pvp and even pve is the Bloodhound Step ash of war which really turns the Estoc into a wild card as you are essentially phasing in and out of combat roll catching with the R2 and chipping damage away with the R1. Also helps reduce the risk of someone parrying you since they never know where you will be striking next. Third Build: The Piercing Fang ash of war is in my opinion a straight up upgrade over the Impaling Thrust ash of war. Using this on the Estoc essentially allows you to abuse most humanoid enemies in the game as they have zero clue how to deal with it. Fourth Build: This one is pretty straight forward and really only applys to DEX/INT builds. Simply slap on the Glintblade Phalanx ash of war and be amazed as you abuse enemies of all types. Bonus "Fun?" Build: Power stancing this with a second Estoc that you can pick up pretty early is absolutely hilarious and you will chew through boss health like crazy when spamming the combo L1 attack. Humanoid enemies will be poised damaged into oblivion and staggered bosses will have chunks of their bar dissappear. You can theoretically use this with any of the above builds on and off through your playthrough as well which is really solid. I will say do not get carried away though because some enemies will poise through your attacks and murder you. If anyone has other builds they would like to share please post in the replys, I am not really looking at weapon buffs/infusions when accounting for these builds so I am interested to see what everyone else has come up with!
