I kinda wish I had some of this irl since this looks super tasty.

It amuses me to no end how in-universe, these are apparently made by taking a perfectly good piece of boneless meat and needlessly wrapping it around a completely meatless bone just to create an artificial drum stick, rather than making beef jerky or something along those lines.
Place your bets:
Just a simple case of "we made the artwork for the items first and when we realized none of the raw crafting materials included a proper cut of meat we came up with this convoluted recipe at the last minute"?
Or Deepest Lore™ implications that require a 40 minute video to explain? Better get to it, Vaati!

Yeaaa don’t waste your arteria leaves on this crap… Save them for something actually useful like uplifting aromatic or blood boil aromatic.

Just buy Boiled Crabs instead since it has the same effect with double the duration:
- Talk to Rya in Liurnia of the Lakes, she's where the telescope is on the map. (BEFORE VOLCANO MANOR OR YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BUY THEM)
- Talk to Boggart and buy the pendant from him, and then buy boiled prawns (idk if you need to talk to him afterwards but do it anyway)
- He will move to the Leyndell Capital Outskirts, directly south of the Minor Erd Tree within the moat and will sell boiled crabs
- Farm 60k runes at the Mohgwyn Palace Approach Ledge-Road
- Buy 99 boiled crabs for 59,400 runes
- ALTERNATIVELY, just progress in the Dung Eater's questline or kill him yourself to get his bell bearing, which will allow you to buy boiled crabs from the Twin Maiden Husks if you don't feel like buying in bulk
Imo boiled crab > bloodboil aromatic until post Morgott due to the only farm for arteria leaves being in the Mountaintops of the Giants and how god damn precise one shot setups are

For all the complainers that say 30 seconds isn’t a lot. On my lvl1 playthrough I’m getting through bosses to the middle point or close at the 30-45 second mark all the way to end game bosses.
So to say 30 seconds isn’t a lot is crazy. This is a bit buff in power output.
I’d complain if it was 10-15 like some greases. 30 is manageable. Even on a level 1 character it’s a nice buff. Looks cool eating some meat in battle too.
Does the effect apply to Phys Damage from spells too? Like the BEstial Incantations

Double the duration, half the effect. Then everyone is happy.

Honestly I don't even care about the buffs I just appreciate a game acknowledging that my character eats food and isn't just some soulless automoton sustained by murder and loot

30 seconds???? For a consumable item this is laughable. Maybe if the boost was crazy high this would make sense. This whole time I was wondering why it seemed like it did absolutely nothing

30 seconds, kinda BS, counts towards most buffs, they really should've increased the durations or maybe add a talismans that can boost the durations of buff items. The reason why I never use this is exactly this, most bosses you encounter are pretty aggresive and you most of the time get one or two opportunities to strike making some fights last pretty long, so 30 seconds is a real joke, and don't think you can quickly buff yourself again because in the meantime you try to eat this thick boy you'll get punished.

and also it's given as a quest reward from alexander warrior jar twice. First encounter and when he gets stuck second time gives 3 of them but don't know if you need to oil him and smack out before talking to him

Also can be looted off a corpse on top a roof in dominula windmill village on the left side

If you use these liberally, you never have to worry about having them for a future fight. It only lasts 20 seconds, and doesn't stack with a lot of other buffs that do the same thing but better (flames grant me strength, bloodboil perfume) and doesn't stack with certain other buffs liked crab meat. Use them as you enter every boss room since they're a quick bite, you can even put these on a quick-slot (Y/Triangle + d-pad) before you riposte bosses with particularly long stance-breaks like Magma Wyrms for higher riposte damage and follow-up attacks. Idk. Having the option to buff with the satisfying crunch sound is fun to me, even if the practical use of it for me is minimal.

I swear to gawd every time i apply a short duration buff I get absolutely demolished by boss moveset rng. THE PAIN!

Killing trolls is super easy, like many types of enemies the game is a bit oversaturated with them early so you should know its moveset by this point in the game and can farm them without much effort. Just put on the silver bug talisman and go where you first see the hairy trolls and they are free loot.

Stacks with Kindred of Rot's/Lord of Blood's Exultation talismans' buffs.
- Anonymous
From what I gather, arteria leaves are limited per playthrough if you don't want to spend an agregious amount of time farming a single troll enemy, so this gets saved to the "what if I need it later" category of items I'll never use.

Does it affect also ranged attacks? It says physycal so i guess yes? could be fun with a full crafting bow build.

This item is unhealthy for the game. Certain PvP players are going to rely on it heavily - even more so than Green Blossom/Pine Bundles in DS3. I really hope it doesn't become a popular/meta item...

Physical dmg buff doesn't stack with Flame, Grant me Strength.
If you don't deal fire dmg just use this item.
If you do, then the incantation is better.

Its actually Armorer's Cookbook 3, found directly south of the minor erd tree in Mistwood

Does not stack with Defense boosting consumables, such as boiled prawns or crab, it just removes one for the other.

Great buff that shouldn't be underutilized if you need an extra damage buff.

Worth it. I was getting smacked at redahn’s second phase and I chugged this and staggered him twice before phase 2 and killed his ass on the ground. Nice.

Do the culinary items in this game make anyone else hungry? It's not "Monster Hunter food cutscene" level, but the item pictures and detailed descriptions give my stomach a case of the grumblies, what with all the mentions of rich-tasting spiced, pickled, and fermented foods

Where do I get the Hefty Beast Bones? I realized Exalted Flesh’s damage bonus stacks with Golden Vow.

Another item that's being duped stupid.
