Waste of a ring slot. Both versions of this together are less than the old minor spell increase ring by itself.

There's variance depending on seal used, weapon upgrade level, incantation used, etc. but up until about 55-60 Faith (pre-talisman bonus) the Two Fingers Heirloom provides a better boost to your incantations.

Testing Catch Flame with a Godslayer's Seal, Faithful's was better than Two Finger at 58 pre-talisman for +17 upgrade, and 59 for +25 upgrade.

Tested with and without Flock's Canvas, results were the same for breakpoints even with the 0.32% boost that Faithful's gets adding multiplicatively with Flock's.

I use this talisman because there's literally nothing else I could replace it with for my dragonmaw build. There's only four talismans that increase the damage of dragonmaw, this is one of them, so I equip it. I don't bother with ritual sword because I'm always trading damage. 4% of 4,000 damage is fine. Good, even, when stacked multiplicatively. Roar medallion, scorpion charms, too situational for my particular build.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this before. But doesn't seem to increase the effect of weapon buff incantations.

honestly i thought this was a reward for Gowry's quest for the longest time until i went into sellia crystal tunnel

Godfrey icon is better. If you want to go all glass canon then Godfrey icon, ritual sword, flock canvas and scorpion charm is the best setup.

4%? What is even the point. Even when stacking with other buffs the damage increase this thing provides is basically non existent. And they were so good in previous games which is saddening.

A lot of the comments here seem to forget that the Dragon Communion Seal exists. Why would someone use the Two-Fingers talisman with a Dex/Arc build?

                    • Anonymous

'm not sure why people are complaining the increase is a good amount I just I tested it on a fireball that did 235 without it and with it it does 272 and if you use the black Fireball it would do more because that does damage over time and my faith was only 30 so higher faith will do even more damage

                      • Anonymous

People complaining it needs a buff aren't taking into account how many different ways you can stack damage. If you're using Black Flame fireball and you have the Godslayer seal plus the Fire Scorpion Charm plus this you are getting an 29% damage buff to that spell not counting any castable buffs.

This is weaker because it covers all Incantations, if it were a 10% buff like people are asking for it would balloon into broken damage numbers with other buffs

                        • Anonymous

Not sure how you do the math on this, as many see this as useless unless over two fingers heirloom, I'm level 50 faith, lightning spear without equipment buffs does 1197, with two fingers does 1207, and with faithful's canvas does 1245, on albinauric's.

The two fingers is like 1% at this level, but will boost both incantations & faith weapons. However you can stack faithfuls canvas with flocks canvas & again with a scorpion for stupid damage, I was one shotting a few pvp individuals with death lighting, even managed to kill 2 with one lighting strike once, bit of rng with this incantation though.

Do people actually use this? I fail to see the point when you're only getting 4%. That's barely even noticeable in most cases.

                            • Anonymous

cant i just wear the 5 faith talisman and get more bang for my buck at pretty much every level that having slightly higher damage actually matters? this thing needs to be a 10 percent and the other a 15

                              • Anonymous

I forgot to mention in my previous post about testing giantsflame that this amounts to LESS THAN A 2% DAMAGE INCREASE (1102 -> 1122 ~ 1.8%). lol, doesn't even give a flat 4% on top of everything. Man what is this FromSoft? Pure Incant builds getting shafted.

                                • Anonymous

After doing testing with 30 fth/30 arc +7 DCS this is better than Two Finger Heirloom as far as damage is concerned. It is more pronounced the higher your damage output is, for example tested on troll from behind Giantslfame deals 1122 with giants seal in left hand then 1102 with two finger heirloom. It is worth noting however that Finger Heirloom grants you a defense and resistance bonus of 4-5 in each stat. If you are only using low damage incantations I may lean toward the Two finger Heirloom because the defense bonus may be worth it. Also, stronger scaling Talisman would lean toward this Canvas Talisman. Higher faith levels of course, would also give the advantage to Canvas.

In closing, this Talisman needs buffed because wtf is this.

If you don't wear this trash on your pure faith build for incantations, you aren't praying, you're gaming.

I'm just gonna go ahead and assume that the pathetic 4% bonus is an error, and that at some point in the future a patch is going to fix the mistake.

                                      • Anonymous

Don't even bother with this talisman, use like... Radagon icon instead... Or literally anything else that's more efficient

                                        • Anonymous

From what I've tested, this doesn't do as much damage as the Two Finger Heirloom, but maybe I just need more faith.

You're telling me I need to dedicate one of my talisman slots for a meager 4% buff to my incantations? Not a chance.

Someone said that this buffs frenzy incantation's madness build up. Now I can't test this myself, and I highly doubt it as it begs to reason it just buffs the damage from the magic itself, but if anyone knows could you confirm/bust this?

                                              • Anonymous

Should there be like a higher version of this talisman ? like for the school mass talisman and the graven-mass one ?

                                                • Anonymous

The flock talisman gives a 7.17% bonus you can also stack it with this one to get a total of 10.83% boost.

                                                  • Testing using the flame of frenzy (uncharged): 126 before, 132 after.
Flame of frenzy (charged): 224 before, 240 after.
With bestial sling: 40 before, 42 after.

                                                    4 to 7% damage difference.

                                                    • Anonymous

I got about 3.6% more damage with this on lightning spear and black fireball. A bit disappointing, to say the least.

                                                      • Anonymous

Based on my tests the actual damage increase is at best +5%. For PvE I'd rather go with something defensive, like Dragoncreast or Ritual Shield. I have enough damage anyway.

                                                        • Anonymous

Wasn't it from a painting you interact with? I dont recall getting it from the selia mines. but then again maybe im miss remembering.

                                                          • Anonymous

20% increase. Combined with ScarSeal/ErdFavor/Fire Tail you have the default Pyromancer setup again. Cope.

                                                            • This Talisman I'd say is only optimal if you are at/past a certain point in Faith scaling and/or do not want the drawbacks of Marika's Scarseal. Assuming you are just trying to get a high amount of damage anyway. I'm guessing this point starts somewhere past 50. I am trying to get to the point of being able to one-shot the enemies on my soul farm, which is why I've gone into this. My base Faith right now is 44 for reference, here is my test (which is not extremely rigorous, but the attacks were all fully charged against the same, fresh enemy):

MS is Marika's Scarseal (used for +3 Faith), TF is Two Fingers Heirloom (used for +5 Faith), FC is Faithful's Canvas Talisman (this, used for the Incant potency), and LS is Lightning Scorpion Charm (used for the damage boost).

                                                              MS + TF + LS = 947
                                                              MS + TF + FC = 879
                                                              MS + FC + LS = 922
                                                              TF + FC + LS = 947

This made it seem like MS = FC in terms of effectiveness, since they both gave a 947 when combined with the other two. It should be noted that in the TF + LS combo with MS, my Faith is 52. In the TF + LS combo with FC, my faith is 49. When testing the two by themselves however, MS came out ahead by 2 points of damage (792 vs. 790), which would be a Faith of 47 vs. 44.

For reference, MS gives +3 Faith (among other things, but nothing that would affect the damage here). So it seems like when you get to the 50's, FC starts to equal (and then presumably eventually overtake) MS. TG gives +5 Faith, but the same principal would apply there.

TL;DR -- Unless you are high up in Faith, like beyond the 50's, this is less effective than the Two Fingers Heirloom, which gives +5 Faith. Around the 50's it starts to equal (and maybe overtake in the late 50's) Marika's Scarseal, but it could be a replacement at this point to the Marika's Scarseal if you don't want the defense reduction penalty from MS.

                                                              • It either wasn't approved or didn't go through (probably not approved because there was a problem with the paragraphs), but an update on what I intended to post earlier (about this one vs. Two Fingers Heirloom & Marika's Scarseal -- which was about the effectiveness of this talisman being worse until you reached a softcap). ---- I have now reached 54 Faith; I was using Marika's Scarseal + Two Fingers Heirloom + Lightning Scorpion Charm to farm. This would have my actual faith at 62, and I have discovered that 60 is at least one of the Faith softcaps. Just to test if my idea was correct (that Faithful's Canvas Talisman would be superior to Marika's and eventually Two Fingers due to softcap), I swapped Marika's for Faithful's Canvas at this point after testing my damage with Marika's at that level. With a 54 base Faith, MS+TFH+LSC came in at 1056, and the true Faith here would be 62 (so 2 over softcap). Switching out MS for FCT (so FCT+TFH+LSC), the damage came out to be 1071, with the true Faith being 59. So this Talisman, despite being worse than the +3 & +5 Faith talismans earlier, pulled ahead (of the +3 at least) somewhere in the late 50's. This would probably also hold true for the +5 from Two Fingers, I'll test again once I get there with base stats.

I just tested it at 60 base Faith. Taking off everything else, Two Fingers (+5 Faith) gave me 961 while Faithful's Canvas (this one) gave me 968. Might have pulled ahead earlier, from 56-61 base Faith, where points gained from Two Fingers would start to be over over 60.

                                                                • Anonymous

                                                                  • Anonymous
