So I’ve compared this weapons ash of war with the ancient death rancors and this weapon dishes out way more dps than the rancors call spells only downside is that ur stuck casting the spell for longer both the spell and the ash of war can be buffed with magic boosting talismans and spells

The fact that this weapon at +10 has DAD scaling is crazy good, that Must have been intentional xD

Bro butchered his family for a weapon that has an E in int scaling

When you want rancorcall but can't be asked to invest in faith

did 1k per ash of war for me and carried through the godskin apostle at bottom of the caelid tower tbh

So from 16 INT to 80 INT, I gain... like, thirty damage on the weapon? Really? Why make the ash of war scaling & weapon damage scaling so different on a unique weapon?

The way the heads jingle on this weapon in combat will really jack up the FPS of lower-opt systems, just fyi. Had to trade it for deaths poker for my newbie battlemage run

Did anybody happen to notice the jellyfish just outside of this cave at night? And knowing that jellyfish are the spirits of dead children?? Random Jellyfish location, or something more…

Using this while wearing the Twinsage Glintstone Crown and Twinned Chestpiece for maximum heads!

At first I thought it was an oversight that death themed weapons scale only with int instead of faith/int but I think FromS actually prefers it that that. I can understand that they dont want to add even more faith weapons and add some int weapons.

Necromancy spells scale with INT/FAI, this flail is INT only. Sword of Night and Flame is the ONLY Int/Fai weapon. Major design fail.

really wish this didn't have D int scaling, you'd think being a death sorcery weapon it'd be INT/FAI

One of the most \m/ metal weapons besides the starbeast jaw.

Been using this as my primary strike-type weapon on my dex/int char. Amazing weapon and one of my favorites in the game.
However, I noticed a strange glitch where I had it equipped and walked up to a tower railing to peer at distant scenery. The heads got "caught" in the railing and began jiggling violently. After this my frame rate dropped hugely and actually froze for a second. Thought it had crashed. Be mindful of where you equip this otherwise, god tier weapon.

Should've been int/fth weapon. AoW is basically a death sorcery
- Anonymous
We already have an int flail, this should've been an int/fth weapon with madness buildup on the ash of war. If this isn't a madness weapon, nothing is lol

This should have been flavored as a madness weapon, change my mind.

Don't be dumb like me and try this on a strength build because the strength scaling is terrible.

So the weapon art hits like an actual truck, and doesn’t seem to take any stamina whatsoever to cast, letting you just hammer an enemy with a constant stream

really easy fight to get this weapon: cloth wearing human npc

Look Chosen Undead, I turned myself into a flail, I'm Flail Pinwheel!

Even at only weapon level + 7, I find this weapon scales a lot better early on compared to the rancor sorceries, even using a +10 staff that boosts death spells and using the ancient death rancor doesn't deal nearly as much. With the weapon art I can actually kill things in a reasonable amount of time. This is at mid-game 30-ish int and faith with 24 dex on both tests. I will definitely test again with higher stats and full upgrades to see how they compare.

Familial Rancor scales with both DEX and INT. Keep this in mind. It is yet to be seen if the skill evolves into the same used by Necromancer Garris when the weapon reaches higher levels. (skull spirits + physical skull creatures summoned). So far I only leveled it up until +5.
