Fia's Champions is a Boss in Elden Ring. Fia's Champions are five invader enemies and are found in Deeproot Depths. This is an optional boss as players don't need to defeat it to advance in Elden Ring. Fia's Champions spawn in three waves: single invader, single invader, then three invaders. Each wave begins after previous one is defeated. You may find Sorcerer Rogier, and Lionel the Lionhearted amongst the NPC Invaders during this enounter.
The five greatest warriors of Fia, the Deathbed Companion. They each come in waves, and wield various weapons of their choosing.

The absorption numbers are the % of your damage that gets blocked. For example if an absorption is 60. 40% of that damage by that type will go through and 60% is absorbed. Bigger number= less damage. An absorption of 100 means no damage goes through, and a resistance of -100 mean the enemy takes 2x damage from that source. 0 means damage goes pretty much as is.

Poison: ??
Scarlet Rot: ??
Hemorrhage: ??
Frostbite: ??
- Death: Immune
The resistance numbers is the buildup amount to trigger it. For example if a resistance is 100 you must deal 100 points of whatever aux buildup to trigger it. Note that these go down over time, and increase each time the effect procs.

Fia's Champions Fight Strategy
The Best Tips for Fia's Champions:
- Use Ash Summons with grabs like Finlay, since all Champions are NPCs that can be grabbed.
- Use the spell with Area of Effect (like Agheel's Flame)
- Build up resistance to Magic damage.
- Bring Rejuvenating Boluses Item
- During 3rd wave, eliminate champions as soon as possible - Lionel is a serious threat on his own.
Melee Users
The first two waves should be easy and you can take your time to defeat then without wasting any resources, the last wave is more intense and it may be advised to Summon a Spirit Ally during the third wave to get more room to fight against them. Try to align then so you always attack one at a time and be aware of the space, as the arena becomes much smaller when the invasion begins. Always focus on the most aggresive invader.
Magic and Ranged Users
It's important not to waste too many resources in the first 2 waves, as the third wave will get more problematic with three enemies attacking you at once. These enemies generally dodge ranged attacks while getting closer to you. It's advised to focus al your damage to one invader at once, until they are defeated and then attack the next one. Because 3 attackers may not leave too much room to attack or move between attacks. Try to spread them apart.
Fia's Champions Attacks & Counters
Attacker | Description | Counter |
Fia's Champion | Almost every champion is a melee fighter, and you can identify their fighting style by looking at their gear. They all generally dodge magical ranged attacks. | Their range, their speed and timing can be easily measured by identifying their weapon and gear. Be aware of your space and avoid getting cornered as they move straight forward at you. |
Sorcerer Rogier | Rogier uses his signature rapier, with the Glintblade Phalanx skill. His spells include Magic Downpour, Glintstone Pebble, and Scholar’s Armament. He tends to either rush you or stay back and cast spells. |
Engage against him with heavy attacks, stunning and staggering him. You can defeat him before he's able to cast his first spell. |
Lionel the Lionhearted | Lionel wields the Great Èpèe, along with a staff used to cast Rancorcall, summoning five homing skulls, and Fia’s Mist, creating a pestilent mist that builds up Death Blight. | It's not wise to engage against Lionel first, but you have to always be aware of him. Interrupt your own combos against other enemies to get safe from Lionel's attack if necesary. Focus first on the most aggresive Invaders dodging and avoid Lionel, and then focus on Lionel last. |
Fia's Champions Lore, Notes & Other Trivia
- Some of these Invaders are met previously throughout the game as friendly NPCs, Rogier and Lionel. The randomized champions are likely the many players that were hugged by Fia, or those who possess a Radiant Baldachin’s Blessing in their inventory.
- Just like Mimic Tear, Fia's champion is a boss that can die not from player direct hit (f.e by using Bloody Slash Ash of War)

The offline version of thos fight can somehow be harder than with player builds, especially the double ax guy

I got matched up with champions copying early-game builds judging by their equipment and AoW's. I lucked out. For the third wave, use a tanky spirit ash like pumpkin head as a meatshield. Any time they start to focus on you, kite them back to your summon.

I struggled a bit in the 3rd wave at first. As a warrior sorcerer it took a few tries to figure out the best strategy for the 3 wave. I used great shield soldier ashes starting in the 2nd wave, it makes Rogier pathetically easy. They will get slaughtered quickly in the 3rd if you don’t act quickly. I stand behind the spirits ashes and ss soon as everyone is attacking the spirit summons I run in and spam Carian Greatsword sorcery (the one the sweeps side to side) and crowd control them all while their occupied. The two randoms go quick but Lionel takes more work. After I figured this technique out it took only two tries to clean them up and 3 spirit summons survived.
Sorcery users: Invisibility Sorceries are most recommended, second most being Stars of Ruin.

Used a cold spiked palisade shield with shield crash ash of war. Also had a fire weapon for Lionel to reproc the frostbite. E Z

as others on here, i managed to get a build as an enemy that looks suspiciously player-made. in fact, i used it up to level 35 or something before switching from straight to curved blades, while i fought fia's fighters at lvl 70 with the curved ones.
that begs the question, does anyone have an idea under which rules the builds are chosen, at what point in the game or if they simply are rng generated to begin with?

Has anyone else noticed that in the offline boss fight, there is a godskin apostle cosplayer in the third wave? And it gets weirder. They use a heater shield and carian staff, exclusively spamming carian slicer. But somehow they are able to use QUICKSTEP? How is that even possible, considering neither the staff nor shield allow quickstep!

After fighting this boss I see that a lot, and I mean a LOT, of Tarnished wander the Lands Between butt ass naked.

This boss consists of three waves:
1. Against a lone NPC generated based off of a real player's build
2. Against Sorcerer Rogier
3. Against Lionel the Lionhearted and two player-build NPCs
Rogier can be threatening at close range due to his rapier, but he is simple enough to deal with to not warrant special advice.
The only opponent of serious consequence in this battle is Lionel. Lionel can cast Rancorcall to force you to run around in circles for long periods of time, dishes out incredible amounts of punishment with his heavy thrusting sword, and has tanky armor that can poise through the hits of most builds.
The player-built NPCs die fast enough to not be serious threats on their own, so you should kill them first so you can focus on Lionel.

How exactly is Fia summoning her simps to fight you? I wonder if it has something to do with the puppetry that the Nox developed and Seluvis dabbles in. They have the same blue hue that the soldiers in Carian manor do

The third wave definitely involves player builds. I encountered one with raptor set+GS+lion's claw ash of war+fanged imp head. I bet with my left nut this is no npc build

So I've heard you can become one of the champions by doing Fia's questline. So is there a chance you encounter yourself when summoned to other people's worlds?

Would have been WAY cooler to fight the Prince of Death (somehow) in my opinion, and the secret Lichdragon fight is a bit of a letdown because it only uses one death lightning attack, all the rest of its attacks are just standard red lightning.

ok so if you are tired of the super meta builds like rivers of blood and the such i recommend going offline. for the offline version of this fight we have the following:
1st wave: guy with Black Knife Set and Banished Knight Helm
Wields Iron Roundshield and Twinblades with Spinning Slash
2nd wave: Sorcerer Rogier. Uses Glintstone Pebble, Magic Downpour, and Glintblade Phalanx ash of war on his rapier.
3rd wave: guy with Pumpkin Helm, Bloodhound Knight Set, and dual wield Duelist Axes with Endure.
Lionel the Lionhearted. Uses great Epee and death sorceries
guy with page helmet and godskin apostle set. uses a heater shield and academy glintstone staff along with a quickstep. only uses the carian slicer.

I saw some people speculating on how the player character champions are chosen so i would like to post my own take on it, i think they’re chosen from players with a radiant baldachin’s blessing in their inventory because thats when fia calls you her "true champion" it also makes more sense from a gameplay perspective (in my opinion) as it allows for the bosses to have more polished builds seeing as they would needed to have made it quite a bit into the game
- Anonymous
So, some of the champions are based on player builds? Didn't notice that, mainly because they have more or less the same health of your PC, instead of 10.000 HP like the Great Jar summons
- Anonymous
At first I was overwhelmed by the 3v1 but you can honestly cheese them really easily if you land a jump attack, run, and repeat. They're pretty squishy.

90% of the time, players are using rivers of blood or heavy weapon bloodhound step. like wtf lol

so I'm doing this run, which I have blood helice and try to enter Lyndell without killing two shard bearers, and I have no spirit summons, and these guys are handing my ass to me like nothing. feels like this should have been a halflight pvp situation. something like, if you chose Fia's ending you get a special item in NG+ that enters you into a pvp pool to be summoned for this boss fight. balance is always an issue for something like this, so you kinda have to make the boss player way underpowered, but i really liked the concept of giving them special items that can only be used as boss invader. wish they woulda had the balls to explore that concept further here.

Star Shower makes this fight a breeze. Summon a Spirit, something tank, then just spam Star Shower. The delay between the casting and when the projectiles spawn should negate the AI's dodge rolls.

If you're a str build spam halberd spinning attack and you can sort of train the 3 v 1 portion. No mimic needed.

I've done some coop with my friend earlier in the game. Only him. One of the champions with lionel that my friend had was wearing stuff that I used to wear, (pumpkin helmet and some fur armor) and conversely one of my champions with lionel was wearing stuff that he wore. The weapons that those champions used were not alike other than the stat theme (I used a greatsword while my champion in his game used dual greataxes, while he uses a spear and his champion in my game used dual whips). Now if it does loosely base some champions on people you've encountered in your travels that's pretty awesome.

The last champion killed me but my mist killed him and I got the sorcery fias mist but I spawned back and fia wasn't there

If your last fight is against mainly melee users, it makes the fight a lot easier. There are some stones you've probably picked up along the way that use gravity magic to attack in a fan-shape. At least on my strength focused character, this *destroys* the npcs. They don't really have any good way to dodge the attack, and 2-3 of them will get hit at once. Since they don't really learn, you can literally just repeat this until they die, backing up if they get too close. For the casting NPCs, grab something like a shield with Carian Retaliation or golden retaliation, and you can hit them for pretty substantial damage.

I'm really curious if anyone else had one of Fia's Champions during the battle with Lionel who was using a VERY similar build to themselves.
I couldn't tell if one of Fia's Champions was using the build I had when I last hugged her. Despite having similar armor and shield, it was using a Death spell I don't have… but that fits the theme. I figure it might just be another player or coincidence. Either way, I'm betting that it grabs your stats when you receive or use the Baldachin's Blessing, which is why there's only one you can have at a time.
Especially given that we know Lionel lay with her in Leyndell, and Rogier met with her at the Roundtable hold, it would make sense. D's soul is still alive in his brother who arrived later, so he wouldn't arrive even though you see her beside him as he dies. It seems like a possibility it's linked to when you receive a Baldachin's Blessing that it might create a mimic from you at that stage, since you give her 5% of your HP when you do, and it's the same way that she takes the last of the life of those she lays with and why she can summon them here.
I figure you can probably test it by trying to wear something absurdly odd and identifiable whenever you embrace her at the Roundtable Hold, and something else when you use the item, and see if either shows up in the fight later during phase 3.
Even if it's for someone else's world, it'd be an amusing way to influence somebody fight if not your own.

Invaders always crying. The pvp builds, gear host doesn’t have and using enemies to kill host/phantoms never counts.
- Anonymous
People with this fight are experimenting a little bit what it's like to invade a host who is summoning more players again and again , and ganking in a 3 vs 1.
A minute of silence for the invader side who have it far harder in general.
I'm pretty sure that, much like the Great Jar summons, these are other players. The ones I fought today all had "meta" builds. But they were seemingly low-level, I suspect it's pulling from players that Fia hugged.
This would fit with Rogier being one of the champions since we know he, uh "lay" with Fia from time to time.

neat fighting Blue spirits. Blue ones are the ones that come in to help defend you arnt they? Wonder who they were defending. Fairly easy fight.

MEMORIES BROKEN THE TRUTH GOES UNSPOKEN I'VE EVEN FORGOTTEN MY NAME
I fought Rogier here and I thought he's a regular NPC for this fight. By the way I'm happy we are just fighting the red spirits and not that giant arse gross rotten piece of flesh so called "Prince of Death". I totally thought I'm going to fight it when I go inside the lake, would have puked myself to death before it kills me because it looks so damn terrific. And that giant f**king bloated face is just disgusting.

I am getting so goddamned tired of this games obsession with gank bosses.
- Anonymous
The third wave of Champions can output some serious damage really fast 'cause it's a standard 3-man gank, but once you start the boss fight (i.e when the first Champion spawns and the arena forms around you) you can summon Ashes. I used Greatshield Soldiers and they made fights 1 and 2 very very easy, and they made fight 3 possible when I put myself on the other side of the mob. Also, in wave 3 the unnamed Champions have significantly less health than Lionel but equal amounts of damage. Highly recommend you nuke them first. Some of the randomised NPCs are easier than others though.
I took them out with Poison Bloodhound Claws +20 (passive effects: poison buildup (90) & blood loss buildup (45) with the Bloodhound's Step ah of war. I used a very light build. The bloodhound step is essential to get behind them and really mess them up quickly and then get out quickly.
I don't think the poison build up helped at all, but the blood loss is good. These claws are excellent for taking them out.
I used the Banished Knight Engvall +7 as my summoning spirit.
