![]() |
Fia's Mist is a Sorcery in Elden Ring. Fia's Mist spell allows you to release a mist of death before caster.
Sorcery of Fia, the Deathbed Companion.
Creates a deathly mist before the caster, which inflicts Death blight upon those who enter. This sorcery can be cast while in motion. Charging enhances range of the mist.
This sorcery was developed to oppose the Roundtable Hold, and is effective only against the Tarnished.

Tips for getting this to proc:
1) no duels, only invasions. Very hard to get this to work 1v1 not impossible but not worth going for
2) Play stealth. Get the host trick mirror talisman and some fashion that’s dark and blends with the environment
3) trap host/summons. Wait for opportune moments where you can cast and then body-block doorways. Ladders and tight dungeon quarters are good too. Avoid open areas.
4) play low level. The higher level you go, the more vigor people have. More vigor means more immunity to death blight. I’m running on a level 25 no weapon upgrade build that was a bit of a pain to set up, but the invasions have been super viable with how quickly deathblight procs on low levels.
Happy groundskeeping.

The description says that it affects "enemy NPC invading phantoms", but I just killed Ghiza in the Volcano Manor, I used this spell about a dozen times, and nothing happened. It took three casts against D for the deathblight to proc, so what gives? If Fia's Mist is this inconsistent then what's the point of using it?

Please make this similiar to the other mist spells for PVE. i try not to get on wikis but how am i supposed to know a sorcery i find while exploring is literally useless against mobs

*using this spell* "This little manoeuvre's gonna require much buffs ! "

I killed Dung Eater in the sewer gaol with this. He isn’t an invader.

I killed living Dung Eater (in evergoal) with this spell. He isn’t an invader he’s just an NPC.

I think it's dumb this spell doesn't work on npcs... Make most bosses immune but smaller mobs should die to it make you really feel like a death giver. The buildup is already slow make it so it's not a quiet cast and most enemies are faster and can get out of it. Not like it would be op we already have night maiden mist and that cheeses alot of bosses who get caught on terrain

Isn't it interesting that this spell looks similar (with a few extra darker shades) to the fogwalls before boss fights?

For PvE, this is a useless spell. It should have some function in PvE content akin to Pestilent Mist/Mercury. Given how Death Blight works, it's not like the spell would become OP or anything... if the status effect proc'd in PvP, the opponent would drop anyways...

THIS SPELL IS NOT FOR KILLING PEOPLE if death blight actually worked it would be incredibly over powered this spell is amazing for intimidation against anyone who knows what it does use it to create a safe zone for yourself or make space to cast slower spells if they know what it does they won't want to charge through it and it gives you time

Why does FROMSOFT hate deathblight so much. The game would be more popular if they made deathblight a billion times easier to inflict. Also the game would be infinitely better if death in general had nothing to do with faith ! ! !

it’s impossible to get someone inside Fia’s Mist, and even if someone does stay inside in for a full uncharged duration it’s still no where near enough to deathblight

Been making a Death blight, Death Sorcery build for PVP, ive yet to test my theory. But I was going to use powerstanced Straight Swords, one is St Trinas, the other is a Sporofic Grease (sleep) buffed sword. I planned to attack enemies in PVP and put them to sleep then cast this on them.
Would this work? Would the mist wake them up?
If so thats okay I always got my Shotel buffed which supposedly procs death blight on hit and my death lightning dragon spell.
I am going to find a way to do this and make the **** work mark my words. I will be back to this page when I do !! :)

"Death status effects ONLY works against players. Every enemy, NPC (except NPC invading phantoms) and boss has protection to this status."
This isn't correct, there are some Silver Tear enemies (when transformed) in Night's Sacred Ground are effected by the Death status.

this thing has to be bugged. i summoned a buddy to test and it took 3 casts while standing completely still to proc

Most effective when cast right before/after perry. NPCs that are invaded by the player does not get deathblight(such as Great Horned Tragoth). Fia's champions do.

Okay, I think I got it to proc on patches but I'm not sure how. I spammed the spell for like two minutes with no results... Then I got bored and hit him with briars of sin. Upon landing the third hit he bled and died, but also got death-blighted. Or at least, the death-blight skewer animation played. Help?

this is ****ing hilarious on hosts and their phantoms that hide in a room and wait for you to come in, like a commenter before said actual tear gas.

slots well into a magma sorcery build because it doesnt scale

Works pretty good for me...i've come to a ~35-40% Winrate in Invasions. I take Shotel in the right, Staff in left. As invader the host and his friends will hunt you and thats what u want. However in Duels there is no way of winning. I won 2 Duels out of ~30 and thats only because they clearly didnt know what i was building up there.

I tried to proc Deathblight on those Flame Guardians. I literally lost count on how many times to recast the spell.

Pretty awful in duels or in open areas but pretty okay for invasions with tighter spaces and/or enemies to slow and lockdown hosts.
Does wonders for overconfident aggressive players who dive into clouds to hit you.
You can only cast 1 cloud at a time and recasting it deletes the previous cloud, spamming it does nothing.
The cloud lasts a pretty short time at around 7ish seconds.
Charging it increases the aoe of the cloud a lot and uncharged the aoe is pretty small.
The cloud doesn't affect you at all so you can step in it for time to cast other stuff / buff your shotel / recast the cloud to slowly inch it closer to hosts.
Could also use the cloud to defend npcs from melee enemies since they have to step into the cloud, attack and leave it which builds a lot of deathblight all while the guy is blinded.

I have spent a very sizable amount of time trying to make this and the Eclipse Shotel work.
Conclusion: These debuffs are so pvp ruining that the devs have nerfed them into oblivion. Players simply move to much for either of these incredibly limited ranged attacks to be allowed to build.

This spell isn't useless. It's just not what everybody wants it to be. It sucks for a very simple reason. If a spell like this was "not useless" (meaning reliably and regularly killing enemy players regardless of their current health,) getting deathblighted will get really old and possibly nerfed to this kind of state anyway if everybody abused it. Someone always does.
It is a way to apply deathblight, unfortunately one of the best ways you have. You gotta think outside the box for this crap to ever kill anyone like that.
I'm reminded of a classic ds1 pvp video where the player simply takes the miracle Force into the depths and keeps on chaining knockdowns infront of the Basilisks until it procs. Those were simpler times though. I'm believe there is someone out there who will figure something out.

The only use I could think for this in theory could be to avenge fia by killing D's twin after he kills her in deeproot depths

I would drag my tarnished nutsack through a mile of broken glass just to get one whiff

So few of death blight spells and only 1 weapon, this should have just been an incant similar to poison mist since faith seems to be the death blight focus.
- Anonymous
utterly useless, one of the worst sorceries in the game unfortunately
- Anonymous
Another nice little mist spell for invaders using int/faith builds. If a host and his phantoms just want to camp inside small rooms then you can cast this to fill it with nerve gas. Either they leave and engage you or get insta killed.

Does Deathblight work on Gideon Ofnir? If so, you can just use this while he's monologuing and trivialize the fight.
Man, I really wanted a death build to at least kind of work, but this is useless. Charged and uncharged it lasts 7 seconds. It's gone by the time you buff two eclipse shotels. Nobody is gonna walk into it, and it's literally only for pvp. And why is it a sorcery?? Death lightning and eclipse shotel are faith based! There's no death throwing knife, pot, of arrow, like how would this ever work? The cloud should be huge for like 10 seconds, or last a long ass time and be small. I bet the death buildup rate is trash also. Like if this was decent, you could literally slot a vitality talisman, use a low req incantations, or pop a consumable to counter it. Make it affect the caster too like night maiden's mist and madness spells so we have to spec into it with lots of vit, but make it viable if you covitamins, at least
- Anonymous
Okina seems immune to this spell (npc invader), Dung Eater got death blighted by a crab, anyone else know of npc invaders that obey or break this "tarnished rule"?
Because madness seems to proc on npcs that Death Mist doesn't. Any ideas?

This can be used in conjunction with phantom slash ash of war or gravity well sorc.
- Anonymous
It’s pretty useless but it’s a really good smoke screen, my friend uses it while I hide in it to then use that eye beam spell lol and it always hit them cuz they never saw me charging

What if you were to cast this, and then pull somebody into it using gravity magic/skills?
As it sits, this spell is all but useless. It is easily escaped, there are no ways to pull people into it nor can it be cast at range. The buildup needs to increase with catalyst scaling or the mist needs to slow movement while in it. I have gone through five flasks casting nothing but Fia's Mist and the status did not proc. The opponent wasn't actively avoiding me either and stood in the mists a fair amount of the time.
Should the buildup be instant? Obviously not. There's no balance there. But taking in the relative power of other spells, a fully kitted out build dedicated to this spell should be able to threaten a proc on the status much faster than it does now.

One thing that I don't think was mentioned is this can be used as an effective smoke screen to mask your movements in PvP for a few seconds. This is what I use it for in open areas where catching someone in the cloud is all but impossible. It lasts a little bit longer than the darkness incantation and covers a wider area. Doesn't break lock-on, but they won't be able to see what you're doing very well.

Anyone know if buffs talismans that “increase potency of sorcerers” have any effect on with spell?
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
I have killed someone with this while invading them, it took a number of casts and cramped quarters with me chasing them down. Fortunately the mist does not affect the caster, and the loss of sight means you can evade and roll past their blind attacks to cast again.

This is a really good speed for camouflage you while preparing to do a much better spell for me. Good use in PvP, because ppl are so scary about that.

"Death status effects ONLY works against players. Every enemy, NPC and boss has protection to this status. " As stated in the fextralife wiki is incorrect. It works against npc invader, too.

Does the buildup scale with anything? Will higher int make this kill faster? Would the Death staff do anything?
Added location and tested the spell a bit in a lot of enemies. It seems it exclusively works for PvP only.

I really hope this sorcery doesnt mean there are also weapons that inflict curse, this alone isnt that bad but
- Anonymous
You get it from a boss fight past the Beyond the Roots Bonfire in the Deeproot Depths.
Discription:
"Sorcery of Fia, the Deathbed Companion.
Creates a deathly mist before the caster, which inflicts Death bliht upon those who enter.
This Sorcery can be cast while in motions. Charging enhances range of the mist.
This sorcery was developed to appose the Roundtable Hold, and is effective only against the Tarnished

You get Fia's mist at Deeproot, Death Prince Throne (I guess that's the name of the site of grace; it's high above, climb the roots, avoid enemies). Deeproot itself is a secret area behind Valiant Gargoyles (you take a lift in a coffin). You receive the spell after fighting Fia's champions. Cant recall if I've just got it for free, or did I have to kill her after chit-chatting her. I wanted her outfit so yeah, I killed her. As for the spell itself - IT SEEMS that it causes Death buildup, but any mob I've tried it on didn't react to it, no matter how long it was standing in there; so either it does something else, or it scales from something else than inteligence and faith.

This sorcery is obtained after defeating the multiple boss fight in Fia's location in Deeproot Depths
Mfs be like "immolation with shield turtling!" No, the fog is coming.
