Finger Reader Crones are NPCs in Elden Ring They are elderly women that hold staves with bells attached to the tips. They somehow have the gift of foresight, often telling vague hints about the future. Whenever they come across the Tarnished, they become overly excited and ask if they could read their fingers. Enia, found in the Roundtable Hold, is one of them.
You, please, I can read them. Your fingers, please, your fingers...″

Dialogue in Elden Ring: Finger Readers
Introduction
Collapsed Bridge, Stormhill
- "You, please, I can read them.
Your fingers, please, your fingers..."
[Accepting to show hands]
"Oh, bless you.
Oh..ohh!
Head to the foundation of gold, Tarnished...
Traverse Raya Lucaria; 'Glintstone Eventide'...
...and reunite the half crescents, at the Grand Lift.
Oh, but the bridge is collapsed, and cannot be crossed.
Only, why should that matter!
Stormveil Castle still stands tall!"
Raya Lucaria Academy Bridge, Liurnia
- "Yes, please I can read them. Your fingers, please, your fingers...
- [Show Hands]
Oh, bless you!
Oh..ohhh!
Miquella's favour can be yours.
Slaughter, slaughter, slaughter... The all-hearing slaughtered, but alas, it was for naught.
But all you need do, is snatch it from the big pot. Pity the poor, poor fool!".
East Raya Lucaria Gate, Liurnia
- Before finding Dectus Medallion (Left) and Dectus Medallion (Right)
"You, please, I can read them.
Your fingers, please, your fingers...
[Show hands]
What a pity it is, to be without the right.
All you can do is stand, at a loss.
Without even the half crescents that wish to be whole.
Before the unmoving, unfeeling Grand Lift ahead.
...
Or, are you planning to throw yourself to the waters?
To find the coward's passage, through the dim cavern?" - After finding Dectus Medallion (Left) and Dectus Medallion (Right)
"You, please, I can read them.
Your fingers, please, your fingers...
[Show hands]
Oh, bless you...
Bless you...
...
You. The one who holds both half crescents.
Take the path to the Grand Lift ahead.
For you...are the one who will be Lord.
...
Bear witness, one and all! The Lord is returned!
The Elden Lord is come again!
Forest-Spanning Greatbridge, Altus Plateau
- "You, please, I can read them.
Your finger, please, your fingers..." - [Show hands]
"Oh, bless you...
Oh..ohh! ...
To the east... ruins of gold. To the west… the serpent's sacrilege.
Wherever the path leads, so shall you follow.
Wherever the path leads, only more sorrow.
Tis a curse! A curse! The curse of Queen Marika!
Ah...ahh... Ha...ha..."
Leyndell, Royal Capital
- "You, please, I can read them.
Your finger, please, your fingers..." - [Show hands]
"The Fingers I served once prophesied...
A Tarnished would one day become Elden Lord and restore the Golden Order.
...
Surely you see it, too?
The gold that enshrouds the heavens. The great tree which begets the pillars of light.
O Tarnished, hasten to the foot of the tree.
...
And whatever you might face...
The Fingers will surely guide you..."
Grand Lift of Rold, Forbidden Lands
- You, please. I can read them. Your fingers, please, your fingers.
- [Accepting to show hands]
Turn back. Ahead lies the Land of the Giants' Flame. And the way forth is forbidden.
...
Hear me. The burning of the Erdtree is the first cardinal sin. Doing so will unbind Destined Death, and slay the world itself.
...
Who would dare put you up to such a task? Most certainly not the Fingers!
Smoldering Wall, Caelid
- "...Are you one for festivals? Or flowers?
To the South, a grand festival to make the stars turn.
To the East, the hardened bud of a flower to be.
But dare you enter?
Into the heart of the scarlet rot?"
Deeproot Depths
- (moaning)
"Ohh...
Oh, Lord Godwyn...
Such cruelty, such humiliation...
My poor, sweet lordling should have died a true death.
As the first of the demigods to die.
As a martyr to Destined Death.
But why must it yet bring such disgrace?
A scion of the golden bough, sentenced to live in Death..."
When attacked
- "You godless brute.
You'll soil your hands soon enough.
With mortal sin!"
(disappears)
Elden Ring Finger Reader Notes & Trivia
- Many dead Finger Reader Crones are found near the Erdtree Sanctuary in Leyndell.
- According to Enia, Finger Readers translate what Two Fingers say, speaking on their behalf. The ones still alive may have served their Fingers at the Divine Towers, but since they are dead, they desperately wish to read your fingers in return.

Somehow i suspect they are finger maidens who stopped being "maidens" and that's how fingers punished them. I mean Milena also asks me to give her my hands...

Why does it say "Maliketh the Black Blade" when putting the cursor over the "Destined Death" in Deeproot Crone? Shouldn't it be Black Knifes?
- Anonymous
The first crone I met was in Caelid and I thought she was going to eat my fingers or something
I hate this NPC so much. Her awful acting is very immersion-breaking.
I love the somber tone of most other NPC's, which really compliment the perpetual state of dread in the Lands Between. The Crone, however, is incredibly annoying.

After my first run where these ladies actually made me MORE confused, I have become a resentful tarnished. Now I cannot tell you how many times I've heard them say "A curse, a curse upon you!" I'm like the bell-bearing hunter of weird old ladies

I personally hate the one at stormveil. She says “oh no you can’t get into Liurnia” “you must go to stormveil castle” Literally right next to her is the secret path to skip castle

Just imagine being one of these. You are blind, old af collapsing remnant of a human. Sitting in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by countless hazards and malicious lifeforms. Waiting for eternity until some dude accidentally walks by you, so that you could finally put to use your finger-reading skills. This is probably gonna be the only encounter in your entire life with any semblance of sense. But everything your skill is able to do is hint at the places most people eventually will stumble upon on their own, effectively rendering your cryptic abilities useless. So once you've spoken to your visitor, congratulations, you've just exhausted your life purpose that was broken from the start. You suddenly realize that absolutely nothing in the universe would've gone better if you just weren't sitting over there. Or if you weren't sitting anywhere, ever. Now, contemplate gaping meaningless of your miserable existence. Also, nobody will ever give a f**k what it's like to live in your skin. I mean, nobody. You just do not exist in anybody's thoughts, except for the awkward feeling of meeting you that only makes people want to unsee you and forget for good. Purposeless, withered, repulsive human-shell. No way back to any better state. Now that you have nothing left to cling to, you start descending into the depths of your personal hell where you're completely alone and hopeless. You have another eternity to drown in. Enjoy your life.

I murdered every one of these useless things. They are creepy, and I don't think that worshipping rotting, flesh alien hands is a good plan.

The one at forest spanning great bridge has gone insane. She just creeps me out.
- Anonymous
I attacked the Finger Reader at Smoldering Wall and she disappeared while cursing me and told me my path will lead to death.

You, please. I can read them. Your fingers, please, your fingers. Elden Tarnished, seek the Dingelberries. Ah, but why would you? To think, the squalor and filth of it. Oh, but how it puckers in excitement! Prithee, partake of the forbidden fruit.

The one in Northern Liurnia believes in you, she calls you the Elden Lord once you get both halves of the medallion, and says you will become the Elden Lord. The coward's passage she mentions is the Ravine route to Altus Plateau. The one in Southern Liurnia refers to Albus and his village.

the one at Grand Lift of Rold talks when attaked, smth like: "you godless brute! you will sin soon enough, a cardinal sin..."
this is missong above

Dammit, old lady. 'Big pot' you say? I thought it was some metaphor, but then...Yeah, you got me. Now, that laugh suddenly sounds obnoxious.

Has anyone tried attacking them without fast travel / loading the game / sitting by a grace? Roaming the whole map in one go, so to speak. I was wondering if you get anything special / hidden if you do that.
- Anonymous
Is the coward's passage the raya lucaria crystal tunnel? Or am I missing somewhere -- I've gotten the medallion halves on another character, just messing around with different things
- Anonymous
Seems like none of them drop anything, and all of them respawn upon reloading the area. They don't seem to actually take damage when hit, either, so no reason to attack them.
- Anonymous
she says this in caelid : "To the East, the hardened bud of a flower to be", is she talking about the beastmaster and the deathroot seeds that you give him ?
my finger reader isnt reading my fingers and says something about how sad she is because Godwyn is dead. it's my first time talking with her in Deeproot Depths
- Anonymous
Seriously, someone change the name and all the links to FINGER Readers. They're referred to multiple times in the game as being Finger Readers. It's not just Enia, the entire group is called such. The Talisman Pouch also makes reference to this.

Caelid Finger Reader “Are you one for festivals? Or flowers? To the South, a grand festival to make the stars turn. To the East, a hardened bud of a flower to be. But dare you enter? Into the heart of the Scarlet Rot?”
- Anonymous
I "killed" all of the ones I found, but they only cursed at me and vanished afterwards, after resting at a site of grace they were back and didn't mention a thing. Neither of them dropped anything

Don't have an account, so I'll just put this here.
Quote:
East Raya Lucaria Gate (if possessing both pieces of the Dectus Medallion)
"You, please. I can read them. Your fingers, please, your fingers."
[Accepting to show hands]
"Bless you...
...
You. The one who holds both half crescents.
Take the path to the Grand Lift ahead.
For you...are the one who will be Lord.
...
Bear witness, one and all! The Lord is returned!
The Elden Lord is come again!"

There's a finger reader on the road to the grand lift behind the raya lucaria academy. Her dialogue is different and mentions the coward's path up the mountainside?
Mountainside is really cool, by the way. Was one of the defining moments (for me personally) that made me appreciate how unique the game felt from the other souls games.
Shouldn't they be called Finger Readers since they technically read your fingers? Or do we actually see this name in-game? I don't remember them having any menus so I never noticed.

Hacked this lady from my horse as well. Just chilling at the end of a bridge in the middle of a flooded plain. She was asking for it.
- Anonymous
I attacked her by accident too. I don't know whether it will have any repercussions in the future.

There is another Palm Reader in the Academy Town in Liurnia. She is at the end of a broken bridge, above the Giant Crab.
- Anonymous
I thought it was an enemy while on my horse and I swung my Zwei, killed her instantly. Hope she’s not important. Upon death she says “you’ll die for your mortal sins.”
- Anonymous
If I could figure out how to edit the page, I would tell you there's one near the site of grace just south of Caelem Ruins and what she says.
- Anonymous
Phased away and laughed when I attacked her. Not sure if she comes back
- Anonymous
what happens if you kill the finger reader at Raya Lucaria? Because I killed her and she said I was cursed...
- Anonymous
Honestly dunno what the point of these folks are except to flesh out the setting.
As far as I know, they don't give you anything valuable in terms of info, and killing them gives minimal rewards.
Are they at all part of quest line?
- Anonymous
I met her somewhere and she ended up threatening me. Hit her once and she spoke while disappearing. think she cursed my save.
- Anonymous
Misclicked and killes the One in raya lucaria. Didn't drop anything. Just some sprechi lines
- Anonymous
Palm Reader and all mentions should be changed to Finger Reader as that is their title and lore accurate.
the ones at Stormveil and Lucaria Gate seem to still have some wits left, even if half-witted at that.
the one at Caelid seems to wanna show off her poetry as much as the one at Academy Bridge wanna show off her singing.
the ones at Leyndell and Grand Lift of Rolds are fools, completely lost their wits in blind submission and acceptance to the Two Fingers as well as Marika, but at least they seem to still have a little bit of wit left.
the one at the Forest-Spanning Greatbridge is completely insane in the membrane, not sure if this one's mind is even still there.
and the one at Deeproot Depths wishes she was Fia... gross... both of them, imagine being so down horrendous and insane to wanna be the sugar mommy of a giant mermaid corpse LMAO, yeah that's Fia in a nutshell.
