Flame, Fall Upon Them is an Incantation in Elden Ring. The Flame, Fall Upon Them spell launches multiple balls of fire. Updated to Patch 1.07.
One of the incantations that draws directly from the power of the
Fire Giants.
Hurls several balls of fire at once.
Charging enhances potency and causes the balls offire to explode.
There is no record of this incantation in common prayerbooks.
Only a select few prelates know of its existence.

Where to find Flame, Fall Upon Them:

Elden Ring Flame, Fall Upon Them Guide
- Giant's Flame Incantation
- Stamina Cost: 40
- Deals fire damage
- Hurls 12 fireballs.
- Each fireball deals damage separately, and hitting with multiple fireballs will significantly increase overall damage. There is a limit to this as throwing too close to an enemy will cause the fireball hit before it has a chance to split, dealing only the damage of one fireball. The ideal case is to use it in midrange combat where 1-3 fireballs are sure to hit the mark.
- This becomes exponentially more effective when faced with larger enemies where you might be able to hit most or all of the projectiles on a single target
- Damage of a single fireball is fairly significant, and can be used as a quick ranged AOE option to deal with groups of enemies, or as an alternative ranged option, given its affordable FP cost and fairly quick cast time.
- The spread of the projectiles often means you can hit dodging enemies - a useful tool against NPC invaders
- Notes: As of Patch 1.07, FP cost reduced from 18 to 16 and this spell now does bonus stamina damage to guarding enemies.

one of my wife's favorite incants. it deals absolute koo-koo damage to massive enemies, definitely comes in handy when dealing with ulcerated tree spirits.

I love this spell. Charged it can be a pretty nice rollcatch or bread and butter chip damage in invasions, and it's also just great in PvE. Very effective and easy to use while riding Torrent.

>“No record in the prayerbooks”
>obtained from a prayer book

This is absurdly good against the twinned Erdtree Avatars in the Mountaintops of the Giants.

Love me some Shotgun Fireball. Inexpensive and broadly effective in the field, an excellent first answer to most questions.

Incredibly underrated incant. Use it as your main ranged option. You don’t need to hit all 12 fireballs to get max damage. The spell will only count up to 3 of the fireballs hit per target. Hitting all 12 vs hitting just 3 of them results in the exact same damage

I love how some people in pvp see me casting this and think, "Yeah, I can just side strafe that." and eat 600 dmg
It's hilarious every time.

Would've been nice if they exploded with delay similar to when the fire giant uses it

From what I've seen, the fire giant only uses Giantsflame Take Thee and Flame of the Fell God, but not this one
Is this incantation suppose to represent the fire gaint's eruption attack or is this from a type of fire giant we never got to see?

casts super fast for how much damage it can do at point blank. catch flame is still more consistent but this can melt just as well,

They give you 12 fireballs but there isn’t enough barn-size enemies in the game and they won’t allow all 12 to hit unless you mod. Still a good incantation, but..

I can't believe I slept on this for so long. I just assumed it'd be a copy paste of Bursting Fireball from DS3, but holy **** how wrong I was. Single target, even if only one projectile hits it's decent damage, but the size of the AoE plus the damage potential if you hit even 2, god forbid like 5, projectiles on a single enemy is honestly amazing. Quickly becoming one of my favourite incantations!

One of the best incantations in the game great damage all the way to elden beast just try not to get parried by raddagon

Technically incantation to replace flame sling (though a little high in fp cost, 14 would have been fine): has better range, deals more damage, similarly explodes when charged but in a much wider area and has multiple projectiles for multi hit purposes on large targets.
Very good on medium long to long ranges.

Can anyone give input as to whether they would take this or flame of frenzy as a kind of forward aoe spell? Or are they different enough to consider both?

This spell has a limit on how many fireballs can hit because from my testing it either hits for the same damage no matter the range or for some reason every now and then it will hit for significantly less whenever I hit with only one fireball but the other half of the time 90% of the fireballs don't even hit the enemy they just go through it for the testing I believe that it may just be a limit and the limit appears to be roughly three fireballs I was testing this against exiled knights and giant at the secluded cell site of grace The spread of these fireballs appear to be similar to road hogs ultimate from OverWatch meaning that it's five clusters of three only three can hit at a time so this should actually be treated as a upgrade to flame sling because it fills a very similar role to flame sling of cheap spam able and really good damage and it's very hard to even miss enough of them for this to do so little damage when charged if the spell is uncharged from anywhere from medium to long distance you will more often and I only hit with one fireball but when charge you almost always hit with at least three due to the AOE on them

Good for duels. Nuke the opponents with this spell when they try to zone father away. Apparently tricky to dodge since the fireballs are kind of random. Pressure them to come to you.

This is easily one of my favourite incantations I've had it pretty much permanently equipped to a memory slot, I think volcano manor is the only exception.
I didn't think it was up to much at first, but I was messing around with it antagonising the giant crows near rotview balcony and the massive increase in range without a target-lock was immediately obvious. On top of that there is no damage drop off at longer ranges and from medium to long range the fireballs spread like a shotgun blast.

I call them pop rocks because I love baiting people into attacking me. When they do I aim my camera at my feet and cast this spell lol.

One of the best spells in the game. Fast, low FP, can be charged, decent arc range, shotgun fans means it can crowd control or hit multiple times against big enemies and it doesn't lose effectiveness against most things because of multihit and spam.
- Anonymous
This is now really good for large enemies as It can deal close to Giantsflame Take Thee level of damage at the cost of 18fp (same as black flame & lightning spear) but against anything else you have to free aim it at the feet of your enemies otherwise the damage is not worth it so against for example Malenia it's going to be rather inconsistent and unreliable.

Buffed in today's patch so that multiple projectiles can strike the same target, and costs 18fp like Black Flame. However, the individual projectiles deal way less damage than before, so the single target damage gain seems fairly minimal while the damage against spread out groups is much less.
- Anonymous
SO glad they made this a multi-hit incantation. Its doing respectable damage and poise break on large enemies, and still is great for CC.
- Anonymous
The multi-hit buff might be really good for pvp since pallets lands at different times, potentially roll catching people
- Anonymous
Pretty useful in PVP. Wide area, relatively quick cast time, and the charged AOE means it's not a spell your opponent can safely ignore. The charged AOE isn't very large, but it will still catch panic-rollers.
- Anonymous
Deals around 80% of the damage that giants flame take thee does. Has no knockdown but is cheaper and seems to have a greater range (width not depth).

Underrated incantation. It's viable to have slotted if you need a quick, crowd control fire based incantation with a small aoe. It covers a horizontal line in an arc when cast and has a small AOE upon impact. It does not have the knockback and stagger of Giantsflame Take Thee, unfortunately.
Potency can be further increased via:
-Golden Vow/Flame Grant Me Strength incantations
-Flame-Shrouding Cracked Tear from your flask,
-Faithful/Flock Canvas talisman
-Fire Scorpion Charm talisman
-Godfrey's Icon talisman
I can't speak for it in PvP since I don't PvP.
- Anonymous
If it was cheaper and faster, it would be better. It does fine damage but the enemies aren't trying to stay still and find out.

Riding through the mountaintop area on Torrent casting this like a mobile flamethrower made my stale playthrough fresh again lol. It's really good, each cast shoots 10 fireballs and has lots of AOE so you don't need to be accurate at all to hit. I had 60 FTH and 30 Mind (enough for 6 casts) and I was dumpstering mobs. 3 shotting the giant T rex dogs. Not sure why someone claimed it doesn't do dmg? It does a lot more than lightning spear. Ba da da da da I'm lovin' it!
- Anonymous
people say it's trash but each fireballs deals each of their own damage sooo yeah.. if you managed to land all of the fireballs straight on someone's face it deals more damage than Giant's fireball spell.
- Anonymous
I feel like it's not really fair to compare every incantation to something as overpowered as flame of frenzy - this one obviously doesn't do nearly as much damage, but the quicker cast time is nice for reliably hitting mobile enemies and staying mobile yourself. Really nice against deathbirds where flame of frenzy takes just a little too long to cast and everything else on my list often misses its head or skinny torso with all the moving around they do.

Considered a "Giant's Flame" incantation, buffed by the Giant's Seal.

i dont know what to say, i thought this was gona be some good damage on a big target, but walking up to a dragon i get within wedgie range, and only 1 of the fireballs did damage. the rest went threw it...only 1 fireball can hit a target per cast. why make this spell so trash.
nothing to see here just use "the flame of frenzy".
Great incantation for AOE. Has a wide arc and surprising range, especially when charged.
- Anonymous
damage is really crap, each fireball will only damage a target once
- Anonymous
Hurls a shotgun like pattern of fireballs. Targets can only be damaged by one fireball it seems, but multiple fireballs means you'll hit your target and just about everything around it, too.
- Anonymous
115 MV per hit uncharged, 140 charged. It seems that it cannot hit a target more than 3 times, thus 420 total charged MV, more than O flame's 385 MV for the same cost, also having more range. Direct upgrade from O' flame.
