Not sure why it was nerfed in pvp as no build has only fire damage as their only type of damage, even on pure pyromancer cosplay you can just switch to holy infused weapon or have 1 or 2 incantations with different damage types...

Wonder why this only affects the player instead of having an aoe like barrier of gold, golden lightning fortification and lords divine fortification

This spell is a game changer against mogh. Went from one hit taking half of my health bar to barely doing 1/8 of it. Combined with the fire negation talisman, the fight becomes a breeze.

“Protected the champions of the erdtree long ago. “

            “All things can be conjoined.”

At 60 vigor, 30 str and tree sentinel armor I’m largely resistant to fire anyways... but this is good in pve.

As of 03/15/2022, you receive the full benefit of this spell during PVP
(as opposed to how gimped the Drake Elemental Talismans elemental damage negation gets when in PVP)

W/ no armor, Fire damage WILL reduce by 60%
(If you're wearing armor, of course damage negation is multiplicative so it won't add a flat 60% extra, but it will work as you expect in PVP as it does in PVE)

Seems to reduce fire damage by about 60%, and lasts about 70 seconds. Compared to Flame Fortification with 35% reduction for 90 seconds.
