Flame Sling is an Incantation in Elden Ring. Flame Sling spell is used to create and throw fireballs at enemeis, dealing Fire Damage. Updated to Patch 1.07.
Incantiation originating from a sinister prophecy.
Throws a ball of raging fire.
Charging enhances potency and causes the ball of fire to explode.
The flame of ruin is anathema to the Erdtree. But prophets
sometimes glimpse it within the faith all the same. Sadly when this
occurs their sole reward is banishment.
Flame Sling Location in Elden Ring
Flame Sling can be found in the following location:
- Sold by Brother Corhyn at the Roundtable Hold for 800
Elden Ring Flame Sling Guide
- Fire Monk Incantation
- Deals (Seal scaling x 1,47) fire damage before resistances, charging increases damage by +34,4%
- Stamina Cost: 22
- Low Cost (11 FP)
- Uses 1 Memory Slot
- Requires Low Faith (10)
- Deals Fire Damage
- This spell's casting and projectile speed makes it a stable spell, however it gets outperformed by Black Flame's pure damage by 26% and it's additional %-based effect
- This spell, along with Catch Flame and Fire's Deadly Sin, does not have a sigil when cast. This may be related to why Giant's Seal does not boost these spells.
- Similar to the Fireball spell from the Souls franchise.
- Note: Since Patch 1.07 Attack Power when charged has been Increased

the only real use is if you are purely physical but have 10 faith and need elemental damage at low level or if you want to cheese some tough enemy on horseback while yeeting hot potatoes at it...or to weaken an enemy from a out of melee distance if you don't have any throwables (bow, throwing knifes, bombs)...........of course they had to nerf pyomancy enough to only see it in late-game giantflame spammers' territory

Does this have the same lingering hitbox that the blackflame ball has when thrown at the ground?

Only noobs and role players use this spell, that means it should be buffed. I think it should last longer in the air so its only limitation is your aim.

The spell doesn't feel good to use compared to catch flame or lightning spear. The firing arc is jank, you can't chain cast it, and the aoe when charged is tiny. If they changed one of those things it would see more use. And I think most people agree with me because of everyone calling this an "early game spell" as if that is a thing in fromsoft game.

needs a buff, outclassed by all the other cheap spam spells

The description in the wiki is wrong doesn't match with the one that is in game.
In game:
Incantation originating from a sinister prophecy.
Throws a ball of raging fire.
Charging up this incantation makes it more powerful and cases the ball to explode.
The flame of ruin is anathema to the Erdtree. But prophets sometimes glimpse it within the faith all the same. Sadly when this occurs their sole reward is banishment.

Ol' reliable, right up there with glintstone shard. Always does the job.

Since 1.07 patch, charged attack does not work! The damage is the same, no matter you charge it or not.((

Free jump attack because, for whatever reason, jumps have i frames and no instability damage. Even wrath of gold loses the trade to jump spam at 75 fth, 55 vigor

Why do people always take time to throw this in low level pvp? It's slow to cast, slow moving & barely does any damage. Half the time I see it coming I don't even react. The black flame version is s different story however.

"Can be chain-casted as long as player has enough FP" is false, this cannot be chain casted
I can't understand why this spell doesn’t get the damage buff from giant's seal. It's a fire monk incantation. Other spells from that category get the buff except this one.. Why? Giant's flame is just too expensive for trash mobs. And tho the scattering fireball is good for groups, you are much more likely to miss a smaller target except you manage to blow this thing straight into their face. But even then it's quite overkill and you used up 7 fp more for one cast. I wish from soft would show giant's flame's little brother a bit more love.

I find it weird how Corhyn calls fire monk's incantations heresy while he sells this one from the start

The amount of times I have missed a giant target with this spell.. my gawd.

There are two stages of charging: if you charge until the fire gets bigger and release, it explodes in a larger blast with the base damage, but if you charge it all the way (not releasing the button), the damage also increases a bit.

Nice early spell for Guts RP build. Charge it when boss is coming towards you just like Guts does with cannon arm, hit and dodge away then switch to Greatsword. Also very useful to clear annoying trash mobs from range with its good AOE damage.

Great in my Guts RP build. Deals solid damage to AOE if you charge it fully to clear annoying mobs, not too slow, decent range. Just like how Guts uses the cannon arm, charge it when boss is walking to you, shoot it then dodge the attack.

this should cost 8 or 9 fp not 11, its slower and has worse range than glintstone pebble and does about the same damage. even glintstone arc costs less than this and its basically better in every metric.

I picked this up at the Roundtable and discarded it by mistake. Will I be able to buy it again at some point?

Pretty solid spell throughout the game honestly. While Lightning Spear is easier to use and does a bit more damage, this guy casts just as fast and uses less FP.

For Prophet players, you can use this + Heal to get through a majority of the early game until you can get Lighting Spear/more memory slots.

Pretty useful for a low level incantation, not so good against fast enemies but overcharging it can be devasating to thightly packed groups.
Its also pretty usefull as an first strike move to damage or kill enemies before they can attack you.
- Anonymous
It's an incantation, that requires faith and 0 intelligence. Therefore you cast it with a sorcery staff of course!
weak enough to be considered a "yeetable hot potato"
