Flock's Canvas Talisman is a Talisman in Elden Ring. Flock's Canvas Talisman raises the potency of Incantations by 8%. Players can use talismans in Elden Ring to boost a variety of Stats.
A talisman bearing an icon that depicts a mass of masked figures.
Greatly raises potency of incantations.
The figures represent the flock at prayer, their firm belief in the intangible inspiring even the solitary founder of their religion.
What is faith if not an affirmation?
Flock's Canvas Talisman Effect
Flock's Canvas Talisman raises the potency of Incantations by 8%.
Where to find Flock's Canvas Talisman in Elden Ring
- Drops from Gowry after you kill him, only if he is crying about Millicent's death.
- Completing Millicent's entire quest line, by slaying or helping her at the end, will put Gowry in the "crying" state.
Killing her earlier will also get Gowry into this state.
Flock's Canvas Talisman Notes & Tips
- Stacks multiplicatively with other incantation buffs, including Faithful's Canvas Talisman.
- Only affects damage; has no effect on support incantations.
- Sell value:
2,000
- Sometimes, after finishing Millicent's questline with the "good" ending and returning to Gowry, upon attacking him he will continuously turn into a bug, making it impossible to kill him to get Flock's Canvas Talisman until starting your next journey.

Gowry and Millicent and still alive in my Mage playthrough and yet i have the talisman?
- Anonymous
I’ve read the relevant wiki pages, but just to be extra-doubly sure, you CAN get this talisman after either betraying or helping Millicent, right?
You just have to kill Gowry after you complete the quest at the Haligtree, right?
- Anonymous
This, the other Canvas Talisman, Godfrey Icon, and Radiant Mask are bugged in PvP and do NOT increase holy damage incantations.

Testedx3: i got her to the Mountaintop grace, killed her and got the prothesis talisman, the i killed gowry and got also this talisman and his bell bearing
- Anonymous
8% sure is a waste of a talisman slot. Even if a spell does 4000 damage, this only gives 320 more damage or 480 with faithful's too for 12% and two wasted slots. Generally, this increase doesn't mean much more than a single more cast at worse when they are way better talismans. Meanwhile, Shard of Alexander does 15% and doesn't stack with Warrior Shard. Fromsoft really do hate incantations and sorceries users.
- Anonymous
If you were hoping to get her Prosthesis as well don't do what I just did and perfor a ritual killing of her than him at his shack. No Prosthesis. No pest threads. I gassed the commander and lost all my honour and stabbed my favourite maiden in the back with a rapier just for flocks.....
- Anonymous
People complaining increase isn't high enough, they don't want to break game 8% is what most talismans give to spells and incantations otherwise it woukd make certain spells to op
- Anonymous
Finished her questline, by helping her with the invaders. Beat malenia. Used the needle...now shes lying there in her clothes with rot blowing off her, gowry isnt crying, just sitting with his hand on his head....any idea on how to advance him to start crying?
- Anonymous
Quick tip: if you only want the flocks canvas talisman and nothing else from Millicent's questline you can get it very early. All you have to do is kill Commander O'Neil and give the needle you get to Gowry. After reloading the area and going back to his shack he will give you the fixed needle. Then you have to give the needle to Millicent reload the area by resting at the site of grace then kill Millicent and then go to Gowry's shack and kill him too and he will drop the flocks canvis talisman and his bell bearing. Hope this helped

This should've affected the healing spells like Urgent, Lord's Heal or Erdtree Heal. Not the heal over time. To be precise it would heal 8% more of the total final heal these spells heal. Like if we take Lord's Heal, this spell heals a total of (Scaling × 4.20). So with a 300 scaling seal. It would approximately heal:
300 × 4.20 = 1260
If this talisman affected that 1260 hp then it would heal:
1260 + 8% = 1260 + 100.8 = 1360
Here 8% of 1260 is 100 (Not taking the decimal value). So the talisman would have effect to heal 100HP. Not much but still would've made it more useful for others. Since it's said to "Greatly increase potency of incantations".
- Anonymous
This really should've had effect on healing incantations like Urgen Heal, Lord's Heal or Erdtree Heal. Like it does 8% more of the total heal from those spells.
For example, Lord's Heal spell heals "Seal Scaling × 4.20). So if we have a seal with 300 scaling, it will apparently heal.
300 × 4.20 = 1260
And if we this talisman affected the total healing you get, it would be like:
1260 + 8% = 1260 + 100.8 = 1360
Here 8% of 1260 is 100.8.
The final effectiveness of granting just 100 hp more isn't much it would still make it useful for those spells.
If this stacks with anything else that buffs incantations then 8% might not actually be that small... depending on how the math goes, at least. This + F,GMS + BDC + Dragon Maw? idk just tossing ideas.

Bugged in pvp: it doesn’t work with holy incantations (wrath of gold, ring of lights, etc).
- Anonymous
8 percent. this feels like a joke, in what world is the whole process needed to get this worth it?
- Anonymous
"Greatly raises potency of incantations."
"Flock's Canvas Talisman raises the potency of Incantations by 8%."
should say slightly raises potency of incantations
Can confirm you can get this AND her Prosthesis Talisman if you kill Millicent when she's at Windmill Village after you've given her the Valkyrie Prosthesis and killed the Godskin boss. I killed her after exhausting her dialogue then went to Gowry who was crying and killed him for this drop. Interestingly enough, I could also buy Pest Threads from his Bell even though I didn't talk to him after giving Millicent the arm.
- Anonymous
Tested 2x: I got Mellicent to Elphael, killed her and got her prosthesis, then went to Gowry and he was crying. I killed him and got the Flock's Canvas Talisman. There was no need to kill the tree spirit in Haligtree.
I've only ever found Gowry already dead with the loot next to him. Then again I always forget to go visit him right away after completing Millicent's questline, so maybe he just dies after some time if you don't visit?
- Anonymous
What would you say is better this or the two fingers heirloom?
Is not multiplicative with the Faithful's Canvas Talisman. Tested with Giantsflame Take Thee, otherwise unbuffed, using a seal with 347 Incantation Scaling. An uncharged cast (in stealth, to the same enemy every time) deals 1,219 with neither, 1,316 (8% increase) with the Flock's Talisman, 1,267 (4% increase) with the Faithful's Talisman, and 1,365 (12% increase) with both.
Some spell pages that list their available buffs claim that they're additive with each other, and they're correct. This page is not.

They fixed the "turning into a bug" bug. I killed him after I had helped Millicent and she had died. He was sitting there leaned back with his hand over his eyes, perhaps he was crying but I'm unsure. I got his Bell Bearing and the item.
- Anonymous
i can confirm that you do NOT get it or his bell if you just kill him on sight
- Anonymous
Gowry is no longer in the crying state when Millicent is on the Erdtree hill. Just checked
- Anonymous
Should effect buffing incantations, it's not like an extra 8% to Electrify Armament or Barrier Of Gold would make them OP.
- Anonymous
Man these things got nerfed hard compared to their counterparts
in previous games. Their dark souls 3 equivalents grant +12% and +20% respectively.
- Anonymous
If you get him into a crying state and want the talisman DO NOT FINISH TALKING TO HIM, JUST KILL HIM. I asked him why he was crying and after he was done telling me. he stopped crying. So I wasn't sure it was still safe to kill him in that state.
- Anonymous
I don't have it yet but i would like to know of it stacks woth the faithful's canvas talisman.
if you already tested can you please tell me?

Seems like a grammatical error with the sentence in the middle of the item description -
"The figures represent the flock at prayer, their firm belief in the intangible inspiring even the solitary founder of their religion."
What I think would sound and look better - "The figures represent the flock at prayer, their firm belief in the intangible, inspiring, and even solitary founder of their religion."

+8% sorcery talisman: go to Snowfield and complete a Rise tower puzzle.
+8% miracle talisman: kill O'Neil, talk to Gowry, reset, talk to Gowry, talk to Millicent, reset, talk to Millicent, reset, talk to Millicent, reset, talk to Gowry, find Millicent in Altus, give her the prosthesis, find Millicent in Dominula, find Millicent in Mountaintop, kill Niall, go to Snowfield, go to Haligtree, kill Loretta, go to Elphael, talk to Millicent, kill an optional putrid tree spirit, find Millicent's gold summon sign, kill her four sisters, talk to Millicent, reset, collect her needle, go back to Sellia, talk to Gowry, kill Gowry without any in-game suggestion that you should do so.

Hello, great article with lots of useful information and lore. I noticed one of the hyperlinks has a typo. In the stat box (upper right corner) the characters in the hyperlink are "ncantations (" whereas it should be "Incantations". I hope this helps.
- Anonymous
Huh, you're missing a talisman on the wiki. There's a weaker version of this called the 'Faithful's Canvas Talisman' with different art - the singers only take up little less than half the talisman art, while this version has them covering it near completely. Only weighs 0.7 compared to this which is 1.0.

I don’t want to kill Gowry or Milicient… Guess I won’t be getting this talisman.

You can get this Talisman by killing Millicent while she is in the Windmill Village, afterwards you can go back to the shack and Gowry will become to despondent to live anymore and you can kill and retrieve the talisman.

8%...it's almost worse than +5 faith talisman in incacination damage...if you have lower than 60 faith(assumming 60 faith build isn't normal in 125 level pvp). This talisman can be only useful a slightly better than +5 faith talisman(which is literally trash) only if you have 70+ faith. There's not really any talisman that can boost enough incacination except scoprion shits(really hard to use it in pvp)
- Anonymous
Anyone know if it's wiser to stack the heirloom talisman with this or the lesser variant of this talisman to mini max damage?
- Anonymous
You can get this normally by invading millicent. Once she blossoms from your betrayal, return to find gowry dead with this talisman and his bell in front of his corpse
- Anonymous
You can get this by killing millecent. Fot whatever reason, after her death, return to gowry and youll find him dead with his bell bearing and this talisman in front of his corpse

15 faith - 50 arcane - +8 Dragon Seal - Flame, Grant Me Strength - Flame-Shrouded Cracked Tear - Flock's Canvas Talisman - Fire Scorpion Charm . My Dragonfire did 3593 damage on the giant at secluded cell and managed to do 4375 and staggered the Giant outside Volcano Manor with only 10 mind.

Stacks additively with Faithful's Canvas Talisman.
The damage of the lightning spear was 1072 without any talisman, 1115 with Faithful's only, 1158 with Flock's only, 1201 with both.
Tested on the Albinaurics in the Mohgwyn Palace using Erdtree seal +10 with 80 FTH.

I never liked talismans like these because it always felt like the auto-pick if I ever wanted to use that type of casting at all. It becomes so easy to feel like all 4 of your talismans are auto-pick, and then never experiment with anything else.
- Anonymous
At 56 faith, this is boosting my damage more than adding the +5 Faith talisman
I was able to get this after betraying Millicent and advanced through the game enough to be able to fight the last boss.
- Anonymous
I saw before that it does not increase the damage of holy incantations, is this still true?
- Anonymous
love how the faith talisman is behind endgame content and it isn't any better than the sorcery one.

I just killed this idiot gowry and he turned into one of those centipede creatures that shoot the tracking white needles.. he did not drop the talisman. ****

YOU DO NOT NEED TO INVADE AND KILL MILLICENT. You can do the good ending where you help her kill her sisters, she dies on her own, and go back to Gowry and kill him for his. I exhausted his dialogue first and then let him have it bc he deserves it lol
- Anonymous
I can confirm, this does not work on healing-over-time incantations such as Blessing of the Erdtree or Bestial Vitality. Tested for both healing and duration, it has zero effect.
- Anonymous
Just killed Millicent (post 1.03) after giving her the gold needle, curing her from her scarlet rot. Right after curing her (so that she stands and thanks you and gives u the +5 faith talisman), I killed her. Rested at the grace site. Weent to Flock. Killed him and he droppeed this t alisman. So it can be gotten much quicker if you don't care about the sombeer stone or the other talismans you can get from milicents questline
- Anonymous
What does this do for incantations like blessing of the erdtree?
- Anonymous
Appears to be. Miswritten item in the stacking buffs. It should be the holy damage Tear not the Magic one. Correct item is Holy Shrouding cracked Tear
- Anonymous
Does this talisman also increase the damage of dragon incantations?
As of 1.03.1
Does not work with Offensive Holy Spells [Fundamentalist Spells] on PvP but does in PvE.

Can u kill him and not do the quest line and still get the talisman

BUG HAS BEEN FIXED where you could not kill Gowry after helping Millicent!
- Anonymous
Before, Gowry wasn't in a proper state for me to get the Flock Talisman (I helped Millicent in mine). He was simply acting normally as if I hadn't done Millicent's questline, and I couldn't kill him to get the talisman. I figured I might be locked out because of this bug.
After patch 1.03, I went to check in on him and he was in the 'despairing' state like he was supposed to be in! I managed to kill him successfully and got the Flock Talisman! Seems patch 1.03 fixed this issue.
- Anonymous
After latest patch, Gowry finally dropped this after death. Bug has fixed, great job fromsoft
- Anonymous
There may be a fix to this bug of Gowry not reacting to the good ending of Millecent's questline.
Got him to finally react to it; and killed him for the talisman. (post 1.03 patch)
- Anonymous
Don't know if it is just me but the latest patch as of 03/17/2022 seems to have fixed the bug where killing Gowry didn't drop the talisman and he turns into a bug even upon reloading.
- Anonymous
So i helped Millicent, did everything and continued on to kill Malenia.... am i locked out of getting the Flocks Canvas Talisman? every time I kill the old dude he turns into a bug.
- Anonymous
Does Flocks Canvas effect duration time of Incantations, such as Golden vow. If so will this stack with Old Lord Talisman?
- Anonymous
OKAY BUT WHO TF IS GOWRY BEING CONTROLLED BY AND WHY DOES HE "DIE" IF YOU KILL MILLICENT?!
- Anonymous
was still able to kill gowry and get the talisman, even after helping millicent and then talking to gowry
- Anonymous
wow im so mad, it seems like i can no longer get this bc i helped him. what a pain
- Anonymous
I chose to help Millicent and still got the talisman from gowry. Seems like either choices works.

- Anonymous
helped Millicent , came back to Gowry and one shotted him. got the talisman, didnt count as sin
So I got all 3 of the runes (Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, Millicent's Prosthesis and Flock's Canvas Talisman) and here's how: I progressed Millicent's quest all the way until I help her with the invasion and after reloading the are she's sitting down the same area. I talked with her and exhausted her dialogue than I killed her. After that, I got back to Gowry's shack, exhausted his dialogue and just buffed myself to 1 shot him.
- Anonymous
It’s said another time in this thread but I can confirm that if you heal the girl with the needle and then reload area so she is standing and then kill her, gowy will be sad and you can kill him for bell and talisman. You miss out of a cool quest line though.
- Anonymous
I will choose to challenge her and see if I get the talisman
- Anonymous
> Sometimes after finishing Millicent's questline with the good ending and returing to Gowry, upon attacking him he will continuously turn into a bug each time you attack him and re-load the area, making it impossible to kill him to get Flock's Canvas Talisman unless starting NG+ (possible glitch).
This can be resolved by one shotting him instead of waiting for NG+. I had this bug and can confirm this resolved it.
After helping Millicent against her sisters and killing her afterwards as she was sitting there, Gowry can't be killed, he just turns into a bug and respawns after a reload. Any idea on how to get around this (Bug?)
- Anonymous
Hey-ho, just here to confirm this does stack with the weaker version: Faithful Canvas. Using Dragonmaw on the Banished Knight outside the cathedral of dragon communion it:
Starts off doing 2318
2398 with faithful equipped
2499 with flock equipped
And then 2600 with both equipped!
Thus giving you around 11% more damage to your incantations
- Anonymous
i just gave her ther arm, killed him by accident in one hit... he iddn't drop the talisman. what now?
- Anonymous
I killed him after millicent was gone, he became an insect without any drop. Returning there he was alive and saying killing him was a futile exercise....
- Anonymous
Does stack with the other incantation talisman. Appears to be multiplicative though, as on a 1k damage spell i get around 50-70 ish extra damage
- Anonymous
stack additively with the weaker version for total of 12% damage increase
- Anonymous
Yeah, there must be some bug - heh - with the associated quest line here. I helped Millicent all throughout the world, but never bothered to go back to Gowry since he disappears after you give Millicent the Unalloyed Golden Needle and there is LITERALLY ZERO indication that he might ever come back to the shack or be a merchant at all! Either way, now he's just a merchant, and when I try to kill him he fades into one of the Pests. I do sincerely hope this gets fixed soon because this is massively annoying for anyone trying to get all the talismans in the game.
