Elden Ring Flower Dragonbolt Guide, Notes & Tips

  • This is a Unique Skill
  • FP Cost: 18
  • This Skill is Chargeable
  • This Skill cannot be Parried
  • Deals Lightning Damage and scales off Arcane.
  • Applies a Debuff that decreases the target's Lightning Resistance by 23% uncharged (12% in PvP) and 30% fully charged (17% in PvP).
    • Duration:  20 seconds.
    • NOTE: Currently bugged as of Patch 1.13 where it uses PvP values regardless of the player using it in PvE.
    • It seems it's a unique debuff, so it stacks with Power Shread debuffs (tested with Greyoll's Roar in PvP).

    • This is kinda crazy in PvP since usually (most?) players have low lightning resistance. The strike delay is kinda odd too, you panic roll and will be punished for it.

        You CAN use the skill WITHOUT the weapon's requirements! Deals garbage damage and consumes 50% more stamina, but the stamina cost is low so 50% more is still acceptable for a single cast, and it applies the debuff normally!

          Wanna try cheese mode, use this weapon skill with Alex Shard, lighting scopion charm, godfrey icon, ritual sword, full raksaka set, Aow golden wow, and lighting tear with spike tear. Boom every boss went down with few strike lol

            Hmmm maybe I can give this AoW a try to compliment Dragonkin Blade? Frostbite plus this debuff would make it hit like a truck. Oughta remember that.

              Does anyone know if this is a Power Shred or Unique debuff? I'm assuming it's a Power Shred since it functions similarly to the Full Moon sorceries.

                The way the "projectile" of this skill works is weird, its not a lightning bolt that descends from the sky, its more like a invisible Lightning Spear that will then "descend" wherever it makes contact with the enemy hitbox first.

                For example if you are under a big boss like a dragon or astel and lock on their head, it will most likely just hit right in front of the player character.

                The benefit of this is that the skill seems to not make contact with ceilings as the "lightning bolt" is just for show.

                  It requires line of sight to hit targets, but sometimes it even completely misses and hits the ground behind the enemy I'm locked on to. Anyone else experience this? Want to use this but it's been super inconsistent for me.

                    I did wanna try it post 1.13. It seems it gives targets increased lightning dmg negation, not reducing them. Is it bugged?

                      Step 1: Rise up arcane to the max possible and faith just to 26 to use Ancient Dragon Lightning Strike, or 40 to use other dragon cult spells too
                      Step 2: Equip Flowerstone Gravel, Dragon Comunion Seal and off-hand a Gravelstone Seal; One can utilizes Bolt of Gransax too if want, but will need to level up dex;
                      Step 3: Lightning Scorpion Charm, Shard of Alexander, Godfrey Icon and Flocks Canvas Talisman;
                      Step 4: Transform into a true dragon with Priestess Heart and use your buffs (golden vow is a good buff); of course re-use the Priestess Heart to gain its buff as well;
                      Step 5: Proc a chargeg Flower Dragonbolt onto the enemy while doing insanelly number of damage;
                      Step 6: Finalize the confront with Ancient Dragon Lightning Strike big baddas nuke;
                      Step 7: Profit!

                        Insane damage on the skill for little fp and can be safely done at range
                        I'm one shotting black knights with 10k damage in ng3 when skill fully charged.
                        Arcane 70, faith 30, 34 strength.
                        Lightning scorpion charm, shard of alexander, ritual sword talisman, and Godfrey's Icon (works when fully charged)
                        Put the lightning-shrouding cracked tear in your physique - lasts for 3 min

                          I wonder if you can use this ash of war when you don’t have the arcane requirement. Would be great to use this on my 60 faith build. I’ll try it later today.

                            Fantastic for arcane build. Skill does require line of sight though, the bolt comes from the hammer, not from above.

                              I tested the effectiveness of the lightning resistance negation. Seems to be 12% resistance negation uncharged. 17% resistance negation charged.

                                Strangely it seems charging it increases the resistance negation effect. Uncharged 12% resistance negation. Charged is 17% resistance negation. Thats big.

                                  So I’m a little bit confused. The weapon itself is strength/arcane. But the weapon art calls down lightning which usually scales with faith. So is the weapon art arcane or faith based?

                                    I imagine this will be good to combo with placidusax's ruin if ur using it on a dragon communion set (yes I know it doesn't have a damage bonus, but it's cool thematically
