Full Moon Crossbow is a Crossbow in Elden Ring. The Full Moon Crossbow requieres primarily StrengthDexterity and Intelligence, and serves as a good Weapon for ranged attacks imbued with magic.

One-of-a-kind enchanted crossbow of exquisitely detailed
craftsmanship. Made to celebrate the matrimonial union, and
reconciliation, between the houses of the Erdtree and the Full
Moon, Leyndell and Raya Lucaria. The two rings dance when

reloading the weapon. Reveals true worth when used with holy-
infused bolts.

(Currently, the Full Moon Crossbow has a unique interaction with Magic Bolts, contrary to its stated "holy-infused bolts.")

Where to Find Full Moon Crossbow in Elden Ring

The Full Moon Crossbow weapon can be found in a bell tower, along the Raya Lucaria Academy rooftops. [Elden Ring Map here]

  • First, head to the area with the rooftops:
    • From the Debate Parlor Site of Grace, head out into the courtyard to the north. Go up the destroyed staircase to the northwest and then up another set of stairs northward to where the two sorcerers are. Jump over the railing to the west. Go up the stairs and around the corner. Jump over the railing to the south to land on some rooftops.
  • After reaching the rooftops, climb up the ladder on a building to the southwest to reach a bridge with a Glintstone Sorcerer and three Avionette Soldiers. Behind them is a bell tower where the chest containing the Full Moon Crossbow is located.full moon crossbow guide 0
  • The entrance to the bell tower is on a lower level which requires taking a path around on the rooftops. First, go past the bell tower and drop down two levels. From there, perform a running jump across a gap to reach another section of rooftops to the west.full moon crossbow guide 1
  • After making the jump, follow the roofs south past the Marionette Soldiers to enter the bell tower. Climb up the ladder inside to find a chest with the Full Moon Crossbow.

There is a second way to make the jump that is more lenient with timing:

  • On the first roof you drop down to after crossing the bridge (with the sorcerer and three Avionette Soldiers), there will be a spike that you can jump on:full moon crossbow guide spike 0
  • After jumping on top of that spike, jump onto the gargoyle protruding from the wall to the west.full moon crossbow guide spike 1
  • From there, jump to the roof where there is a body holding an item (a Smithing Stone [4]).full moon crossbow guide spike 2
  • Facing west, you can perform a running jump to cross the gap and land on the rooftops below.full moon crossbow guide spike 3

Like everyone else has said, it looks really cool. But I was hoping for a bit more damage, especially when using the intended Meteor Bolts. So I'm also on the buff train, or even if they did something like what they did with the Horn Bow, and give in some scaling with intelligence. If they gave it some scaling, it would buff itself with the right build.

Give it significant high magic damage so it can be used in NG+7 or give it frost. But I think MUCH higher magic would suffice because it's so bad in NG+7 I think even a Kukri deals more damage ) :

Crossbows should always have high damage since they don't scale. This is not a good a crossbow, but my favourite design of them all, sadly ):

One mitigating factor to this rooftop gauntlet btw: use arrow talisman and snipe the Marionettes from max range while they're near edges. They panic and spaz out and go right into "shooting wildly in all directions what hit me omgwtf fire all the things" animation, and fall right over the side. And now I know what I look like to NPCs.

It's a very cool looking crossbow 10/10 design though it's I felt a bit disappointed at it's special interaction with meteor bolts, and it's skill choice.
Damage boost is nice and all but I was expecting something a bit more flair for such a fancy crossbow.

This crossbow reminds me of the older editions of Dungeons & Dragons when wizards had a tendency to use up their spells before the next long rest happened (and unlimited use cantrips weren’t a thing). Just bust out a crossbow and start shootin’ ‘em up old school style, lol.

The description is deceptive, you must use MAGIC bolt to better your damage. Holy bolts are useless with this crossbow

                • Anonymous

MOON crossbow on RAYA LUCARIA that requires INT but has better use with HOLY ARROWS??????????? what the ****??????? is this really right???

                    Amazing collection for Astrologist- fundamentalist:

                    1. Sword of Night and Flame
                    2. Carian Knight Shield
                    3. Golden Order Seal
                    4. Carian Regal Scepter
                    5. Fullmoon CrossBow.

Need 19 END with Knight /Carian Knight full sets. 19 END = 9 basic + Godrick's Great Rune+ Radagon Scarseal.

Perhaps the "Currently, the Full Moon Crossbow has a unique interaction with Magic Bolts, contrary to its stated "holy-infused bolts." could be put up with the description instead of being in the trivia, to save people wasting their runes on Holy bolts.

I get this is supposed to be used with Meteor bolts but what exactly is the "true worth" you get out of them?

                        • Anonymous

Found this to be an excellent sidearm, especially if all you're making a hexer build focusing on bigger casting times! You can save your FP on the big hits, use something cheap like Glintstone Shard to "top off" your FP when it's almost depleted, and reliably pop off a few shots from this crossbow whenever you have to stay mobile or eventually run out. The damage is easily about equal to a Glintstone Shard when properly upgraded and using Meteor Bolts!

This is the best crossbow in the game if you don't have to go out of your way to use it. I think 4 points is worth it as a wretch just to be able to fire doom bolts.

Read the sentence before "Reveals true worth when used with holy-infused bolts," to understand why this isn't a typo.

easier way- when u drop to the next roof. just us hand of malenia special twice and u land easy on the west roof :)

i got smacked mid air jumping from roof to roof by the little flying dudes like 4 times trying to get this weapon… the things i do for loot

                                  • Anonymous

I used the directions stated and a little common sense. But I thought everything I needed to know was there. Good job man. I didn't need the cross bow,
                                    I just want everything.

                                    • Anonymous

This may seem like just a fashion item, but it definitely has a niche use for casters who use crossbows. I did some testing and found that magic scorpion, arrows sting, and the flask buff all boost the damage of the meteor bolts. Might seem to be pointless to use a crossbow on a caster, but it's reliable damage with zero startup animation for zero FP, handy for saving for cerulean tears particularly if you're fighting other players and trying to make them waste their FP. Plus it looks cool AF.

                                      • Anonymous

With a combined damage of 350 before factoring resistances this simoly is the strongest crossbow, & you can choose your ammo effortlessly. Some seem to claim magic bolts do extra damage also, which only boosts its rep.

I would just get the minimum requirements & be happy to not worry about scaling until later on a different weapon.

                                        • It's "good" for a crossbow, but still a pretty terrible weapon, even with golden bolts which is a shame because it has a really nice design :(
Only worth it, if you have no other ranged options or maybe need to fight an enemy that's weak to holy at a range.

                                          • Updated the description and added screenshots. Hoping it's easily understandable this time. Tested just now and the jump in the second screenshot is doable... but make sure to jump while sprinting or you won't make it.

                                            • Anonymous

Definitely a typo, should say magical not holy, holy does nothing. From a little bit of testing magic bolts seem to do around 50% more damage, a regular bolt would do 47 while a magical would do 71. Compared to the 25% decrease with the soldiers crossbow which dealt 44 and 33 respectively. It also works with any bolt that deals magic damage so meteorite bolts work too.

                                              • Anonymous

yeah i tested it. with magic arrows it makes a magical sound a visual fx on firing, which it dosent with other arrows (sadly i had no means of testing holy arrows) but i think the describtion is a typo

                                                • Anonymous

Honestly, that jump onto the spike is the worst part about trying to nab this thing. Even just a little nudge and the you gotta restart...

At least I have it now. Props to the folks who found this thing.

                                                  • Anonymous

doesnt change anything when you use holy bolts, okay crossbow but nothing special about it outside of fast/neat reload animation

                                                    • Anonymous

Does it though…(flashbacks of the darkmoon bow in ds3 and it doing NOTHING with darkmoon arrows despite the item tab saying it would)

                                                      • Anonymous

Really great Crossbow for an Int Build. Plus it has great Reload Speed. Also It’s found inside a Tower across the Rooftops of the Academy. You have to jump Across a small Gap between the buildings and make your way to the rear of the Tower and Climb up a Long Ladder. And there at the Top you shall Find a Chest with the Crossbow inside.
