It's crazy to me that there are still people, in 2023, that can't beat Radahn on their own at level 70 lmao. Ya'll got me bussin no cap frfr

Just saw a video saying these boost rune acquisition by .05 percent? Can anyone verify?
- Anonymous
Is there any lore explanation for the multiplayer mechanics and phantoms? In DS it was all about time being weird and worlds crossing over. Why do you need to go into "the world" of another tarnished during Volcano Manor if they're just over in Limgrave?
- Anonymous
People whining about this item is weird. Souls games have always had an item to "activate" online play and interact with summon signs. (see humanity, human effigy, embers, etc). They just don't give you any buff on top of that.
- Anonymous
And after around 40h of gameplay, I finally understand why I was not seeing any summon signs anywhere...
- Anonymous
Why has this game this nonsense. In demon and dark souls you just put your summon sign down, easy peasy
- Anonymous
put them in your pouch so you can cancel the current one applied without wasting one even tho they're literally everywhere in the game
- Anonymous
Why are there so many of these laying around? They're so easy to make you essentially have infinite as soon as you get the crafting kit, and then every time you find one in the world you just end up disappointed that it wasn't something else. Even the least valuable golden rune is literally 20 times the value of one of these. And, what moron decided that it would be reasonable for merchants to sell these for 1000 runes?
- Anonymous
I can’t fathom why tf these even exist. Are they hard to get? No. But just… why? Why not just have the summon signs show up like normal? Why do I need to use an item for the sign to appear? It makes no sense.
- Anonymous
Soooo I got to 999 without crafting a single one... Have I done enough pvp yet?
Having this as a reward for killing a blue is phenomenal! I can't wait to kill more blues so I can get a readily available item to summon my nonexistent friends for co-op I have zero intention of doing!
- Anonymous
Uh....why is this considered rare in the game? It costs 1000 runes in shops, it's a purple loot in the world, indicating that it's supposed to be rare, but....I can just make them, with two Erdleaf Flowers, that I can find even when I'm not looking for them.
- Anonymous
Wow! A purple item, i bet it's something rare like a talisman. Oh wait it's a consumable I've crafted like 20 of, using the most common ingredients available.
- Anonymous
I made quite a few boss fights much harder than they needed to be because of this thing, including the gank fights against multiple enemies in the boss room. I did not know that by activating one of these to try and find a cooperator, then not cancelling it in the inventory menu before crossing the boss fog gate would stop me from summoning any spirit ashes.
You gain so many of these dueling/invading and it's insane. These things are such a lackluster reward in general
- Anonymous
Most retarded mechanic i've ever seen, i don't see how this makes multiplayer "more accesible" when it just makes it harder to do in everyway, i shoudn't have to use this when using a password either, terrible mechanic 0/10

Just to clarify for future later players. I bet youre stuck at malenia and finally have to ask for help. Well, my friend the simple answer is that you need to get stronger and use your furl calling finger when you can tell you’re actually almost ready to defeat her alone. Otherwise, yes you will run out of them in-game. And yea you will have to get more by playing online and defeating a host. So be at high level when engaging her.
Are people still whining about online coop when you have summons if no cost in this game? Lmao
It would help if the stock for each merchant was listed on this page

It's apparently fine if I want to leave a gold summon sign without needing a Remedy, but for opt-in invasions using the Taunter's Tongue I have to use one. Pretty backwards design if you ask me.
- Anonymous
Funnily enough, there IS actually a reusable version in the game files which can be added using cheats. Whether it's a dummy item that doesn't actually work, I couldn't tell you, but clearly it was a direction they were considering during development.
- Anonymous
I think something a lot of people are missing is the reason for there being a cost, even such a cheap one. It's to discourage you from relying on multiplayer. You have the option, but it requires just a little bit of effort, so you'll probably try to do the bosses without summoning other players. The game is clearly built as a solo experience with optional multiplayer features, and I think that that is the main reason for decisions like this and not being able to use torrent with other players on your world.
- Anonymous
To clarify, PvP is optional. If you want random invaders, use one of these Remedys and then use the Tongue. Enjoy!
- Anonymous
Oh no, the co-op enabler is an item, just like almost all the previous games?? You don't have the right, O, You don't have the right. Is this why everything but sorcery and ultra-heavies get nerfed? Because people don't know how to do anything?
- Anonymous
One way to get these is very devious.... You have to invade worlds with the Recusant finger and hunt down the host. Kill them and you also get a rune arc and whatever runes they had.
- Anonymous
Imagine a world where these actually worked for boss fights more than 3% of the time
Absolute garbage

Question: Does this enable invasions if passively on? I've reached the point of the game where I'm just exploring and I'd like to spice up the travels with having some invaders but I don't exactly like the idea of facing two people at once with the taunting item.
- Anonymous
I think you cant use this once youve defeated the area boss, that kinda really sucks
- Anonymous
The auestion that i have is theree a levelrestriction when you set a group password. I mean im level 8 can i summon a level 100 Guy with the same grouppassword? Otherwise the group password is useless.

My friends and I have been calling this Cheeto dust so often that I forget the actual name of the item

My friends and I have constantly been calling this Cheeto dust that I forget the actual name

My question is this: How many friends can I summon? Can I summon 2 or 3?
- Anonymous
Also need to add you can't summon your steed with this active. Makes coop for a bunch of the open world bosses harder than just doing yourself with the horse. Really need to allow steed in multiplayer if the area allows steed.
- Anonymous
The best place to farm these I've found is The Four Belfries grace. There are 3 erdleaf flowers in a 2 second walk and the grace is on the way back.
- Anonymous
Incredibly annoying that you have to manually turn it off if summons die or you entered a boss fight. If you don’t you can’t summon spirits.
- Anonymous
Just make it an unlimited use key item that's impossible to miss. Wtf, From.
- Anonymous
Does anyone know how to undo the effects? no one is here to summon so I would like to spirit call instead but i can't because the Furlcalling finger is activated!
- Anonymous
I'm farming these on Margit. Looks like a lot of people need help there.
- Anonymous
The materials are very easy to find and respawn when you rest at a site of grace. Find yourself some flowers next to a site and farm until you're satisfied.
- Anonymous
I feel like this was forced into the game. It doesn't really serve any world reason for having it. and the fact that it's easy to craft, says to me that there was no mean to actually limit the use of coop. Embers, Effigies and Humanities served purpose in their related game but here it's just an annoyance.
If the need for it is technical so simply have some non consumable item that I need to use every time I want to reveal summon signs (cause I guess it's kinda demanding to always be looking for signs for every player in the game at all time).
Other than that great game so far

My friend bought this game and it looks sortta fun, but I would only play it with my friend. After reading how co-op works, I'm not buying this game. I'll save my money for something co-op that doesn't require RNG drop chances just to have fun with my friend.
So basically this is the equivalent to using a human effigy in ds2/an ember in ds3?
I really hope for the retail build of the game that they cut this. I don't think there should be any "cost" for coop.
- Anonymous
How rare are these, and are they farmable? Would like to co-op a lot, from the earliest opportunity. But if it's like Embers, they are precious until mid-late game, therefore, cannot really be used with n00b friends.

So this appears to be the Elden Ring equivalent of humanity / human effigy, etc. Although there seems to be no major downsides for using it since you cant be invaded until you actually summon
They should have just given its functionality to rune arcs like humanity and embers from previous games. Would also give more incentive to participate in coop/pvp.
