Elden Ring Ghostflame Call Guide, Notes & Tips
- This is an Ash of War Skill, associated with the Ash of War: Ghostflame Call
- FP Cost: 15 (10/10)
- Stamina Cost: 15 (10/10)
- This Skill is activated the same way as the Ghostflame Ignition Skill, but its damage is calculated differently.
- Because of this, this Skill is better used at melee range for max efficiency.
- Deals Magic Damage and inflicts Frostbite buildup which doesn't scale off any stat nor weapon upgrade.
- Generated Ghostflame inflicts (20) per tick on touch
- No-input and light input explosion inflicts (20)
- Light input trail inflicts (20) per tick on touch.
- Heavy input explosion inflicts (80).
- Weapon hitbox inflicts 50% the weapon's status buildup, and deals Pierce Damage based on Weapon AR, Buffs and Weapon Scaling. The higher they are, the better.
- Stance damage:
- 4 (No-input explosion)
- 5 (Light input explosion)
- 0 (Light input trail)
- 11 (Heavy input explosion)
- 100% the weapon's poise value (Weapon hitbox, same as a light attack)
- This Skill is not Chargeable

That's enough, I'll learn how to use Smithbox and buff this ash myself

Is this a troll? 20 Frost buildup on ground flames? From is out of touch with their own game. This is so horrible in comparison to Ghostflame Ignition. Granted, Ignition is grossly overpowered. This is pathetic. It's like ditching a bazooka for a slingshot. I hope those imbeciles buff the frost buildup on the ground flames and damage of explosion. It's like two extremes with these frickin guys. Too weak or too strong. Is it incompetence or trolling?
Only useful as a utility skill. Enemies stand on flames to get stunned. Explosion to knock foes back. It can be pretty useful but only for PvE utility. Ineffective at DPS or Frostbite application.

It's quite strange to allow this aow to be used on curved gs (same goes for aotc wings and spinning gravity thrust), but not impaling thrust or piercing fang. Looks ridiculous on beastman cleaver tho.

Ill be honest, I thought this was some sort of ash of war swap glitch or hack when I first saw it in pvp

i feel like they either forgot how strong deaths poker was or intended to nerf deaths poker and it just didnt make it in.

FYI - if you are using this as a substitute for Ghostflame Ignition then you are using it wrong. When people say it is bad, they are comparing the bullet this ash shoots to the one from Poker, and this ash is not as good for that. The damage calculations are entirely different. If you want a spell stick, go with the poker. What this does well is hit at point blank range with the weapon and the ash. This is why people are having success with bigger, higher damage weapons.

Hiya Mods! Would be helpful to edit the "Notes" section, which July 24 reads "Works the same as the Ghostflame Ignition Skill". I suggest changing this to: "Is activated the same way as the Ghostflame Ignition Skill, but its damage is calculated differently. The damage from Ghostflame Ignition is based entirely on INT and weapon upgrade level. The damage from Ghostflame Call is split into two parts. The first part is the initial weapon strike, which includes weapon AR, buffs and weapon scaling. The second part, which is either the R1 trail of flames or the R2 explosion, do much less base damage than Ghostflame Ignition, and scale based on weapon upgrade level and both INT and DEX.

best aow ever made, I squeezed out another 20 hours because I was stuck on a boss with this aow equipped

Effects aside, it gives colossals a swift stab attack that consumes less stamina than the crouch poke. The follow up attacks are equally cheap stamina wise, so you can just swing your stupidly big sword like a straight sword.

They completely overcorrected with the nerf; it does about 1/6th of the damage of Death's Poker now

Logged in today to find out this got nerfed into oblivion in PvE... not even worth using anymore

I was really excited to use this, but it does pitiful damage compared to the death's poker

I put this on a Great Katana and the ghostflames also deal bleed buildup for me. It is pretty busted in PvE.

After killing the death Rite Bird, it says i received this item but it's not in my inventory.

Was expecting the nuclear explosion that the bird that drops it does, was disappointed.
