Ghostflame Torch is a Torches in Elden Ring. The Ghostflame Torch scales primarily with Dexterity and is a good Weapon for illuminating dark areas and for inflicting physical and magic damage.
Metal torch that burns with cold ghostflame.
Tool of the Fallen Hawks who prowl the underground rivers.
When the band's last embers were used up in their long search,
they began to burn the bones of their fellows,
acquiring the cold ghostflame,
but sealing their fate as dwellers of the underground for all eternity.
Where to Find Ghostflame Torch in Elden Ring
The Ghostflame Torch weapon can be found at the following location:
- Ghostflame Torch can be found on a body at Nokron, Eternal City. To find it, you must start from the beginning of Nokron, Eternal City, entering from the Meteorite Crater. Once you get to the first set of roofs in Nokron, you will see a derelict tower off to the right of the roof ramp. You will need to jump from the ramp to the tower to reach the torch. An ideal position is to jump up onto the square platform, aim diagonally toward the corner of the tower, run and jump (holding sprint as you jump). There is no other way to reach the Ghostflame Torch if you proceed to the lower roof platforms of Nokron. There is no way back up except to start over from the Crater again. [Map Link] Video Location

I keep it on my level 25 Silver Mail Spellblade Build, mostly for wiggling before or after fights, for the drip of it.

Imo the only useful torches are beast repellent and sentry. Too bad it doesn´t combine both effects instead of the cold. The way it is I have no use for it even though it looks really awesome.

i love how my hero start character is too stupid to hold a torch

For what it's worth, this torch, St. Trina's Torch and Sentry's Torch are the three torches where the non-physical damage actually scales with a stat (in this case it's magic damage that scales with int). The other three (Torch, Steel Wire, and Beast Repellant) have flat elemental damage that doesn't scale (the scaling is only applied to the physical portion). On an non-spellcaster semi-Int build (e.g. a Carian Knight Sword build, although Carian Knight Sword is best with relatively low Int and more Strength) this can be a cute source of Cold. The scaling for the three scaling torches is 0.81 for this (Magic, Int) and Trina's (Fire, Faith), and 0.85 for Sentry's (Holy, Faith), which is the upper end of C scaling (e.g. 0.9 scaling is B scaling, and there's C scaling out there that's as low as 0.6, so 0.81 is good for C).

It would be nice if this had a fire breath kind of skill to actually make use of the frostbite

It'd be cool if the parry skills could go on torches. I'd love to put a spell parry on ghostflame torch for an interesting offhand parry tool.

if you're having trouble getting this, get naked. i tried making the jump at medium load and the jump went halfway before i just fell. you need light load to make this jump.

Wold be more intriguing if it inflicted frost and had innate fire damage

You should be able to power stance torches and have a special move set like juggling and tossing them at enemies or spitting fire like the gd Elden Ringling Brothers circus is in town. Why not?
- Anonymous
I use it in offhand purely for style with darkmoon gs as a main weapon and honestly it's decent. People are focused on dodging the sword and dont pay much attention to torch attacks and as both things cause frostbite it's useful to keep the bar rising or freeze them.

Its actually an ok weapon for death rite builds. In the off hand it’s frost can catch people who were expecting your great sword instead. My problem with torches is that, in combat, they’re like a cross between a str8 sword and a mace, but dont have the reach of the sword or poise dmg of a mace. In pvp, it’s like using a dagger... that’s much heavier... and so you’ll get barreled over by anyone with poise.

Lifted Dodge Ram headlight, +100 blindness buildup
Weapon skill: tailgating - lock behind an enemy for a backstab

I guess the idea of torches in fromsoft games is to sacrifice your shield/off hand weapon for a light source (just like lantern in DS1) but if they make a unique torch with frostbite ability it would be nice to be able to actually have a move that lets freeze enemies other than slow regular torch attack.

They need to add a fire-breathing ash of war for torches. I wanna be able to do it with this torch for a build I wanna do

*jaw drops to floor, eyes pop out of sockets accompanied by trumpets, heart beats out of chest, awooga awooga sound effect, pulls chain on train whistle that has appeared next to head as steam blows out, slams fists on table, rattling any plates, bowls or silverware, whistles loudly, fireworks shoot from top of head, pants loudly as tongue hangs out of mouth, wipes comically large bead of sweat from forehead, clears throat, straightens tie, combs hair* Ahem, IS THAT BERSERK REFERENCE?!.

would be cool to have a passive regen torch 2 hp per second would be balanced if it only worked while you have it in your hand

I love the logic. Get hit by a torch, get frostbite. hit by a purple torch, fall asleep. What's next, madness torch? Bleed torch!? DEATH BLIGHT!? Please from soft I want it.
- Anonymous
people don't realize it causes frostbite and resets it with every hit since it deals fire damage
- Anonymous
I really hope they update the torches to make them viable and have ashes of war for them. I'd love to go around using fire magic with them.
Hell, someone should make a mod where ashes of flames for torches mimic fire/magma and frost spells.

If the area you're in is too hot, you can swap your main torch out for this one to help cool down. Very helpful in Volcano Manor.

Seeing this and the other Ghostflame weapons (and spell) really make me wish the two Death Rancor spells also inflicted frostbite buildup. They really need something.

I wish this came in a lantern version, the blue light is so nice, but like all hand held torches you it replaces your main weapon art with "torch attack"

So there doesn't seem to be a Ghostface affinity page. There are a couple weapons that have it - this torch and I have seen 2 great swords. What is it actually? Is it basically the frost version of bloodflame?

As of today's patch (1.03), this torch has been fixed. It now works properly no matter which weapon is in your main hand. Enjoy your white light.

there's a weird bug with this torch that disables the increased light radius once raised if you have a heavy weapon in your other hand
- Anonymous
I'm only able to add No Skill ash of war to this and can't change affinity, might be since torches are in the shield/offhand category. Kind of a bummer I wanted to scale this thing and do a torch build.

I'm getting a visual bug where if I hold the torch up while moving its lighting goes to the default torch orange.
- Anonymous
This torch is bugged if you use it along any kind of big weapon (spear/greatsword or bigger). The L1 will either not work at all, or give off yellow light instead of white. However, if you have a small weapon in your main hand (or no weapon at all), the L1 works normally. A bit weird.

Passive is 65 frost buildup, shame it doesn't get a firebreathing WA
- Anonymous
if you combine it with the lantern item you get a nice balance between orange and white light, looks pretty natural

location: beginning descent into nokron from the meteor impact, instead of going straight down on top of the rooftops, jump to the right and you'll see a purple loot light on top of a roof, there's the torch
