Giant's Red Braid is a Whip in Elden Ring. The Giant's Red Braid scales primarily with Strength, Dexterity, and Faith and is a good Weapon for those users who rather to execute long range attacks. Its unique ability grants a large array of rapid fire attacks..
Hefty whip woven from the flame-red hair of a Fire Giant.
Every giant is red of hair, and Radagon was said to have despised his own red locks. Perhaps that was a curse of their kind.

Anyone know what's the best weapon to offhand with this? I was thinking cleanrot sword but not sure

"i just killed the last living member of a race on the brink of extinction and all i got out of it was this whip"

"hey maybe we should be unique and have the giants pot lid be a greatshield that's viable as a weapon in the hands of a viable player? we already have the firestorm spell at the ready after all"
" lmao just make it a mediocre whip no one'll ever use something like that's too much work"

My brothers in the golden order, Marika is Radagon but they were also both separate entities for a bit before becoming one being again and the reason why this is possible is because Marika is a god meaning she can do things that don't make sense simply because she is built different. So yes Radagon did act independently and do stuff but whatever happened to him also happened to Marika because they share the same roots, think of it as like they have the same soul meaning if Radagon is cursed then so is Marika.

This weapon is amazing until you fight a high poise user. All of a sudden nothing you do stuns them anymore and you're playing hyper defensively. You also end up trading thinking you'll stun them and trading with this weapon is not advised at all. I do love using it, and the buffs are nice, but you literally can get heavily countered by a tanky build.

The descrition is literal proof that marika and radagon are not the same person and yet everyone belives vaati as if hes a religious leader
- Anonymous
a decent alternative to blackflame tornado for pvp, but anybody stacking high poise armor will walk straight through it and clap you
- Anonymous
Really useful to dual wield against Malenia. Both it's Weapon Art and L1 combo stunlocks the heck outta her to the point that her Waterfowl dance is literally the only threat.
- Anonymous
really short + no hyperarmor on the skill makes this a really situational weapon and near useless for pvp

perfect Chaos Blade for Kratos cosplay for those who want some GoW experience in our beloved GOTY, you're welcome folks! ^^

Flame dance is very good for killing trolls and late game troll knights. If you trigger it standing between a troll's feet it hits both legs multiple times, does a load of damage staggers them and makes them vulnerable to a critical hit. I also really like it in the off hand with a cold spear that has ice spear AoW on it. Much more fun than the spear with a shield. I've used this a lot and it is in the top tier of remembrance rewards,

It's rare for a whip to scale well with strength without AOW, so its scaling is nice for strength builds that like using whips.
It seems like they added the ability to roll cancel out of the weapon art in one of the patches, which is nice. I don’t remember being able to do that originally.

I want to powerstance this with a +24/25 Hoslow with frost affinity for frostbite resetting. Any good?

i hate the scaling of this weapon, i wish there was always a way to get the max damage without having to invest so much in to two different damage increasing stats. some of these weapons are really just for the people that want to be level 700 and beat the game 7 times and have every stat maxed out.

Ok, here me out: it is stated in another description that the elden ring was brandished in the forge of the giants after the war. Radagon has a thing for thornes and all the fire giants were killed with spears of thorns ripping them apart from beneath. Kinda like a whack a mole, but with a deity that respawns in his followers. So, after beating them and using the Forge and the Flame of Ruin to create the Elden Ring as an object and bounding it to their body, he cursed himself to have the Mark of Ruin, resembled by his red hair. But, before and after the slaughter, they appeared as Marika. Probably because of publicity, but implying that Godfrey knew of their secret, but that is also implied at many other places and by Melina at some churches and battle sites.

This is my favourite remembrance reward, the 'burn, o flame' incantation is really nice as well and if you summon your mimic with a sacred seal in your off hand it will use the incantation multiple times without costing any FP. This whip, golden vow and the mimic casting 'burn, O flame' is shredding the red albinaurics around the blood-filled lake.

when you put this on your hip you get a mini giant's plate that holds it up. pretty cute detail

I don't know if I have just gotten lucky, but I've noticed the Ash of War on this thing is a true combo if any of the hits stagger the enemy in PVP.

Just used this Weapon Skill during a Sanguine Noble invasion before the Mohg teleporter. He was ducking and dodging everything I threw at him including Wave of Gold (didn't know that was possible). This whip knocked him on his butt multiple times. Undodgeable?
Pairing with Hoslow with Holy damage. They rock.

Deepest Lore: All right, so I have come back with a new theory: What if it was Marika who was originally cursed by the Fire Giants to have red hair, and Radagon was then created by Marika in order to transfer the curse entirely onto him? It would make sense since it would look bad if the leader of the Golden Order had the red hair of the Fell God. From Melina, we learn that Marika referred to Radagon as "my other half" in her private quarters, further supporting the idea that Radagon had always been her other half she broke off from herself.

Deepest Lore: So either Radagon was a cursed by the fire giants to have red hair like them, or he was a fire giant himself. We know from the Sword of Milos that human-sized giants existed, so the latter theory is certainly possible.
the whip you're holding is made from the legendary fire giant's red hair
It's the hair on his head right!?

the weapon art can stagger malenia and pancake her at the last strike

Ok, so this weapon kinda slaps in a single run. It has its benefits of reach and the good weapon skill. This weapon really shines in NG+ when you get the second one and power stance them.

Fun Fact: The hair that this whip is woven from comes directly from the crack of the Giant's bottom, which is why it's so easy to light aflame. Each hair is encrusted and bathed in highly flammable ass-juice that hasn't been washed since the dawn of its birth. Stop by again for more Elden Ring Fun Facts!

As of patch 1.04 this weapon cannot be buffed with spells or consumables.

Imagine slaying a literal giant with a face for a torso who yeets explosive fireballs at you, only to be given the choice between a spell or this disgusting lock of hair we call a whip...
- Anonymous
Bit underwhelming compared to other whip options. Was hoping it would have some stagger but its basically just a less cool skin of the magma whip. Art is definitely better than magma whip but only gives 50% more reach and has very little poise to make it actually viable.
- Anonymous
I have been destroying PVP with the weapon art, pair with a frost infused haslows for bleed, frost and fire on frost damage
It's actually a misconception this whip come from the hair on the giants head.;)
- Anonymous
What a cool weapon. Still feels a little underwhelming for something from a Remembrance... maybe the damage could just be a 1.3x higher, or Flame Dance could actually hit everything in a radius around you instead of having some bizarre blind spots behind you.
- Anonymous
Is the AR good enough if I'm just increasing STR? I have 25 in FTH but I don't plan on increasing it any further.

My new favorite backup weapon. Good range for a quick attack. Great weapon art that can give some much needed breathing room when surrounded, and best of all, it can actually strike out at flying enemies like those hawks.
- Anonymous
I don't get why this has better scaling than my magma blade (b instead of c) yet the additional damage from the scaling is less. So weird..
- Anonymous
Even though I'm a paladin, makes me want to swap to a pyromancer and whip it around above my head constantly because I just love the weapon art.
- Anonymous
This whip has a mean weapon art. Very good for clearing out groups and certainly better than any other AOE pyromancy I found. It seems to be a trend that weapon arts are better than most high faith incantations.

It suck that you have to kill this extremley hard boss you can only get a piece of his ass hair. Why can't i get his giant plate weapon?

You have to basically beat the game to get this, the fire giant in the mountaintop of the giants, then you talk to the lady in the roundtable hold next to the "two fingers"

THEY COULD'VE MAKE THE REWARD JUST AN EXCLUSIVE ASH OF WAR FOR WHIPS INSTEAD OF A WHOLE WEAPON.
