    • Charging grants a 20% damage increase, not a 10%. Without the Godfrey Icon and on a particular enemy in identical conditions other than the charge state of the attack, it dealt 1,474 uncharged and 1,765 charged, a 19.742% increase.

For a giant fireball, the blast radius is surprisingly small. The cannon of hamma, which is a smaller projectile, tends to hit more enemies within a vicinity than this larger incantation.

You can fire this a lot further unlocked versus locked on to a target. The fire ball will stay active for 4.5 seconds. If you free aim your attack the giant flame can go much further. Locking on with this spell equipped makes it seem like it can only hit at close to medium range but I found with unlocking and aiming much higher than usual you can get about the same range as a cannon of haima shot. This testing was done with the fully charged ball.

what's wonderful about this is that it has slightly longer damage frames than a midroll, so people will almost always get hit by it. literally a ****ing nuke in my hands.

I don't know if it's just me but I used this spell against Radagon and Elden beast and he will for some reason never parry it, the only times he does is when he's parrying some other spell, I tried this with the similar haima cannon but he can parry that one, personally for that reason alone I love this spell

With 70 Faith, Fire Scorpion Charm, Shard of Alexander, Flame Shrouding Tear, Golden Vow and Flame Grant Me Strength with +25 Godslayers Seal with +25 Giants Seal offhand a fully charged cast of this does 2.2k dmg to the Elphael Cleanrot Knights, seems impressive until you realise with the same setup casting Takers Flame on a +10 Blasphemous Blade does over 4k dmg to the same enemies at nearly twice the range and half the cast time, why are incants so underpowered compared to weapon arts in this game?

Absolutely love how this thing just tosses almost any non-giant enemy around like a ragdoll, such a fun spell, not to mention it deals hefty-ass damage and has fairly good AOE too, eats up fp pretty quickly though so unless you have a ton of points in mind or/and alot of fp flasks, its not exactly something you can just spam on every enemy you come by, flame of the fell god doesn't seem that impressive compared to this sadly.

                  • Anonymous

I'd imagine this spell is just a more powerful Flame Sling, so i gotta ask: compared to Flame Sling, does this spell actually have any downsides, other than a much higher FP cost and requiring two memory slots?

                    • Anonymous

Why is this used so much? I honestly think it's way easier to dodge compared to the one that shoots multiple fireballs. That one scares me more.

seeing this spell makes me wonder how beautiful a chaos bed vestige / forbidden sun would look using elden rings sexy visual effects.

Huge splash , splash go trought cover, high damage, guarranted knockback, can be wombo combo with pest thread to catch people that are panic rolling, good mixup, good against afk roof farmer, pretty useful spell overall, would recommand it in invasion.

                          • Anonymous

Fully charged and with proper damage increasing equipment it can one shot pretty much every player regardless of hp bar. The explosion is so massive that it requires a near perfect dodge to avoid successfully.

60 FTH, dual giant seal, godfrey icon, fire scorpion charm, flame shrounding tear, flame grant me strength... This spell becomes so powerful that I end up ACCIDENTALLY one-shotting people that I wasn't even aiming for with its huge blast radius.

At first glance I thought this was bad. Then I realized several things. It's the best way for bishops to deal with cleaneot knights for example. In PVP the explosion is large enough to hit people hiding behind objects. The knock back is allaround great and after a lot of testing vs Stone of Gurranq I decided on this because of the AOE despite the 2 slot cost.

Doubling down on all buffs just for this one incantation seemed silly initially, but being able to one-shot everything in Farum Azula or Elphael and any pvp match makes it hard for me to play any other way. Not to mention taking Radagon out in 6 casts.

Sends most enemies flying which allows you to fire off another one. Does huge damage, maybe not the most fp efficient but it makes tricky enemies with big health pools much more manageable. Has some AOE to it as well. S-tier incantation.

Flame Oooooh Flame.. reduce these pretentious 22 year olds who know nothing but katana builds to ash and bone.. O dankest of flames.. I beseech thee!

                                      • Y'know Chaos Bed Vestiges in DS3? This is his older, beefier brother. He heard those demons talking smack about "FP cost" and "overall DPS" and came over to beat them up. This is my new favorite pyromancy (alongside DS3's Sacred Flame, of course). Though slower than DS3's CBV, the giantsflame-crimson projectile is massive, and when it hits something, it explodes in a large radius that CBV sorely needed. You can now more consistently take out several enemies with one fireball, and lemme tell you: it is *immensely* satisfying.

Gotta scream out “He’s on fiiire!” when you’re free aim dunking the rock and then a “Boom-shaka-laka!!” when it connects and melts your enemies.

All those years of NBA Jam really paid off.

One of the best incantations in the game if you can free aim well. Always my go to quick cast spell, I promise you'll replace lightning spear with this if you practice free aim.

going from spamming black flame to spamming this spell was like upgrading from a revolver to a goddamn rocket launcher

Easily one of the best offensive incantations.
Not only does it do high amounts damage, it knocks vast majority of enemies down in a single hit.
It's downside being it's slow projectile speed.

                                                • Anonymous

I love using this as an opener for enemies that are bigger than man-size, it staggers or knocks them on the ground.

                                                  • Anonymous

This thing is a beast for cc and trash clearing.
With 50 arcane and 30 faith and dragon seal + some talisman I can deal between 1200-1700 damage with a big nuke depending on enemies.
It just kills every normal ennemies in one cast.

Vs bosses black flame is still better unless you want the cc or need aoe.

                                                    • Anonymous

Really good spell for PvE, huge area, huge damage, low cast time, can be cast at horseback. The only downside is the range, but you can aim it upwards so it has a longer reach.

                                                      • Anonymous

This is the free-aim dunk of this game. You trade the fire pool of Great Chaos Fire Orb for a hard knockdown, I think that's worth it. Absolute monster spell.

                                                        • Anonymous

This incancation basically carried me throughout the Malenia's boss fight. Amazing spell with both high damage and high staggering effect.

                                                          • Anonymous

The Faith equivalent to Cannon of Haima. Charge and free aim this bad boy, then throw it at big groups. Great for wiping multiple things off the face of the earth at once. Seriously cathartic.

                                                            • Anonymous

It is required to shout the name of this Incantation whenever you cast it, as is it required to do so for the Flame Monk spells such as Whirl, O Flame! and Flame, Cleanse Me!

                                                              • Anonymous

This thing wrecks any enemy weak to knockdown.

Actually made Malenia's first phase a lot easier.

Toss this on a mimic and you can basically just bully anything.

                                                                • Anonymous

Game on! This Spell is so fun to use, you cant lock on because it has trajectory that falls pretty fast but the more you get the hang of free fire the more fun it gets. Damage is brutal and outshines Lighting Spear imo

                                                                  • Anonymous

Damage isn't much better than black flame especially for FP, the main advantage is that it deals much more stagger and has a huge radius.

                                                                    • In my opinion the best offensive faith spell in the game. Always go for the full spell cast.
I beat the most bosses with mainly using this . Luckily, there are not so many fire res bosses than in the previous games.

                                                                      • Anonymous

using this spell isnt that easy as you have to aim without locking on to get the most out of it, but when u get the hang of it , its a beast. Deals high poise damage especially when charged and spellspeed is as fast as the normal fireball (if its slower i dont really notice it)

                                                                        • Anonymous

The big AoE gives a lot of leeway for freeaiming this thing like a mortar over large distances, charging it causes the fireball to stay active longer allowing it to travel even further. Probably the most fun spellcasting I've had so far with the freeaim fireball dunks from downtown

                                                                          • The FP cost isn't correct on here as of writing this. Going to try and make an edit, but the base cost is 32. It's only brought down to 24 if you're using the Talisman "Primal Glintstone Blade"

                                                                            • Anonymous
