Blue-green scarab worn directly on the head.
These scarabs roll clumps of sorcery during their labors.
Slightly reduces FP costs of sorceries, but increases damage taken.
Where to find Glintstone Scarab in Elden Ring
The Glintstone Scarab Helm can be found at:
- [Elden Ring Map here]
- Location: Raya Lucaria Academy
- Nearest Site of Grace: Raya Lucaria Grand Library
- Found inside a chest. From the garden section where you encountered the hostile NPC Moongrum Carian Knight, go through the gate to the South into the small balcony area with the Glintstone Sorcerer and Wandering Nobles, follow the eastern wall and jump over the balcony railing onto the small ledge outcropping. Follow the path into the nearby alcove, and then climb the ladder. The chest is inside the room at the top of the ladder, guarded by 3 Glintstone Sorcerers and a Lesser Mad Pumpkin Head.

Elden Ring Glintstone Scarab Notes & Tips
- Sell Value:
500 Runes.
- Reduces Sorceries FP costs by +15%, but increases damage taken (~5%)

The tradeoff on dmg taken increase is pretty fair, since it's one of the very very few ways to reduce spell fp cost. But imo the weight is a big detriment to its usefulness. It would be better if it's at 2-3 weight instead of 5.1 which is pretty heavy for a head slot. I find myself tend to use navy hood a lot more for the purpose.

i got this from a scarab, not a chest, i got this a bit before fighting godrick, so i didnt even have access to Liurnia
This is a 17.6% increase to effective FP when just using sorceries. 100/(100-15) = +17.6%. In exchange, you can essentially think of it as giving up your helm slot and taking an additional ~5.3% damage. The average defenses of other helms with 5.1 weight is about +4.1%, so you're looking at a net loss of 9.4% in defenses by wearing this instead of regular headgear.

It says, "increases damage taken" in the item description. Is there a calculation of this "damage taken"?

I put on this helmet, tried to take it off, game crashed while simultaneously saving, and now I can't even load the save due to it CoDing every single time I try to load. This one recommends not putting it on.

Has anyone else found the golden prayer scarab that's a helmet? Found it earlier today in Limgrave but can not find anything about it anywhere.
Not to be confused with another beetle helmet, the Ash-Of-War Scarab, which only effects Weapon Art FP cost, not sorceries

I'm not sure if this is happening to anyone else, but equipping this item crashes my game. It's reproducable, happens every time. I even undressed to only wear this item, but it still happens. I have the effect of a Great Rune active, specifically Godrick, so maybe that's why it's messing with it, not sure though.

To those saying they got it in Caelid, there's two different sorcery beetles with different names and colors.
Also its to the east not the west of the gate after Moongrum.

Location needs better clarity, from the garden you fight the npc, head left as enter then another left through door way facing you east. Then jump the fence into a tower.

Reduces Loretta's Greatbow from 32 per cast to 28. Likely reduces FP costs by 10%, rounded up.

Got mine from a roof in silica, town of sorcery. Might have misspelled the name.

Shame this looks so silly, since it'll likely be Sorcerer meta

So this is the only helm in game that keeps your hairstyle on? All the others cover them

It appears that the reduction of FP costs is approximately 15%. Rather sizeable if running an FP-intensive build

they read the stats wrong it gives negative all these defensive stats
It's sad but most players would prioritize drip over mp consumption with this lol. I can think of something this'll go with but dam. I got a beetle on my head! xD
