Elden Ring Godefroy the Grafted Location

Godefroy the Grafted Combat information

Negations (or Absorptions)

The negation numbers are the % of your damage that gets blocked. For example, if a negation is 60, 40% of that damage by that type will go through and 60% will be negated. Bigger number = less damage. A negation of 100 means no damage goes through, and a negation of -100 mean the enemy takes 2x damage from that source. 0 means damage goes pretty much as is.

Resistances

The resistance numbers are the buildup amount to trigger it. For example, if a resistance is 100 you must deal 100 points of the given buildup to trigger it. Note that these go down over time, and increase each time the effect procs. The values after the "/"s indicate the increased resistances after each successive proc.

I like how the joke in this comment section devolved from slight variations of boss names to "can't wait to fight Gloopy the Glombled in the DLC"

      • Anonymous

Say what you will of DS2's enemies and DS3's endless nostalgia bait for DS1, but neither game was so egregiously lazy in it's design to re-use a main story boss and put him in a magic oval on the side of the road.

        • Anonymous

Did he have moves that Godrick didn't have or did I just never see Godrick's full moveset?

I think if he had voiced lines or something he would be less disliked. Then more people would know his lore. I think From is very purposeful in almost everything they do, so I don't think they just reuse assets to fill the world willy nilly. it's more that they have such a large lore that the original godrick was able to be repurposed. it's not like it would make sense to make an original boss for an evergaol anyway.

Anyone complaining about this boss clearly hasn't played the game its made very clear that Godefroy is extremely important without him the golden lineage falls apart I'm sick of people crapping on the devs that brought us this masterpiece of a game

              In the upcoming DLC:
              - Radagast of the Brown Disorder
              - Margaret the Hole of Margot,
              - Margot the Butt of Margaret,
              - Astaire the Star of the Broadway,
              - Shaquille O'Neal the Gin.

If they wanted to demonstrate that grafting had been in the Golden Lineage before Godrick, then they should've made Godefroy a lesser version of Godrick, as in he isn't as grafted and is nowhere near as monstrous as him.

It would be really funny if Godfrey modelled himself after this convicted criminal, making him even more pathetic.

In case you missed the other story bosses here's the correct order:

                      Mirgat the risen omen

                      Rickgod the tentacle

                      Relannia the queen of stars

                      Starconquerer Rahnod

                      Margott the cursed king

                      Ricord lord of unholy

                      Water Giant

                      Melika the white blade

                      Mahg lord of cum

                      Milinea sword of miqilea

                      Goodfreya the last elder nord

So, the way I originally found this guy was actually through youtube videos talking about elden rings boss design. And two seperate videos said almost word for word "I don't know wtf a godefroy the grafted is" and since I was just tabbed out while grinding for the octopus helm I thought it was some weird inside joke as I watched them somewhat close together

But now I can safely say that I don't know what a godefroy the grafted is either honestly. Maybe the real godefroy was the friends we made along the way

I don’t even get why they used this one as filler. The game already has soooo many bosses. They could’ve just left him out entirely.

For those who don't know, knight Kristoff captured Godefroy after the first defense of Leyndell.
I'm fairly certain Godefroy is to Godrick as Margit is to Morgott.

"Oh you're right...uh just add a little lore blurb somewhere mentioning him then players will gobble it up as deep intricate lore."

In my opinion, the most egregious case of lazy padding in the game. Not just because you get the exact same major story boss, without any reskin or alteration in any way. The worst part is that it makes no sense and contradicts the lore. Shows a disregard for the world they created when they toss in an entirely new (demigod?) that was never once mentioned in the story and has no impact. What was the point? Why add it? You'd lose nothing from his absence. And gain nothing either since you already fought him in a much better encounter. Just leaves you scratching your head wondering why they even did it. Is there any particular reason why everyone believes that Godefroy is an ancestor of Godrick (and not just an alter ego like Morgott = Margit)?

                                                • Anonymous

I first encountered Godefroy in Kristoff's item text and thought "Wow, unusual to encounter such a blatant typo in a FROM software game script."

A few hours later: "Oh, guess it wasn't a typo."

I like the idea that Godefroy and Godrick are the same ancestral grafting stock, sourdough bread style.

                                                  • Anonymous

This is an important lore oriented boss. His lore could make the First Capital Defense sense. Godefroy, Radahn and Rykard were the three who attacked the capital.

Blinded by a simple technicality so bad that you didn't, or couldn't even consider it's grand scheme lore implications. Pretty wild lol

The idea of a grafted that maybe inspired Godrick is cool, especially since he’s even got snippet of background lore to him. If he had an even more deformed appearance, maybe more like a blob, that would’ve been cool.

I mean he's grafted, there's so many possibilities. But even then, can't believe people are calling off the whole game because of this singular boss lmao

                                                                • Anonymous

                                                                  • He doesn't have very good tracking. With a straight sword/shield I constantly strafed behind him and was able to get a lot of hits in. When he started his aoe backed away, baited the jump and went back to hitting his giant butt.

                                                                    • Anonymous

There were Tarnished in the Lands Between during the First Siege of Leyndell, which was part of the wars following the Shattering.

                                                                        • Anonymous

This fight was really the only repeated boss encounter that bothered me. They could have probably used the same animations Godrick has, and maybe the axe could be explained as a family heirloom, but the exact same distinct model? Come on..

                                                                          • Anonymous

So he was imprisoned for supposed crimes during the shattering, but they don’t confiscate his legendary talisman.

                                                                            • Anonymous

this isnt the same boss, its the same move set but godefroy is WAY more aggresive than godfrey, thers almost no window to get a hit on it... it just keeps spaming the stupid roll and wind blast attack i cant get close for mor than 1 hit

                                                                              • Anonymous

Although i'm usually ok with reused bosses (especially when, as far as i know, you can't replay the bosses), i still think that godrick really shouldn't be reused. It just takes away from the impact of the original fight

                                                                                • Anonymous

Imagine defending the idea of re-using a major boss. Like, not even altering his appearance aside from the blue shade thing, it's just a direct copy, moveset and all minus the second phase.

                                                                                  • Advise for level 1 runs that worked for me because I could not do anything to him with my builds. Blue dancer charm + Dex boosting talismans, bloodhound step dagger, and a ton of poison darts and throwing daggers. Killed him first try.

                                                                                    • Anonymous

So some are complaining about the copy and paste of this boss but nobody is gonna say anything about how you fight the same Godskin duo like 5 times during the game? Either way, guys...Godfrey is only technically the second boss you fight (but the first major one) at the literal beginning of the game relax lol

                                                                                      • Anonymous

That Godefroy was caught and Godrick escaped disguised as a woman gives dumb and dumber vibes.
